METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPROVING HANDOVER PERFORMANCE IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
An operation method of a terminal in a communication system may comprise: receiving a first occurrence reporting condition of a handover problem from a source base station; performing a handover from the source base station to a target base station; identifying whether a handover problem occurs based on the first occurrence reporting condition while performing the handover; and in response to identifying that a handover problem occurs, transmitting information indicating the occurrence of the handover problem to the target base station.
Coverage improvement for 5G new radio wireless communication network, such as for over-shooting cells
The described technology provides a system and method for determining, inter alia, if a serving cell in a cellular network is an over-shooter cell serving calls outside an intended or designed coverage area by searching for eligible neighbor cells in a search area bounded by an azimuth of a sector antenna of the serving cell. The serving cell is determined to be an over-shooter cell when, e.g., the distance between the serving cell and mobile devices associated with the calls is larger than the average distance between the serving cell and one or more closest neighbor cells in a list of eligible neighbor cells identified in the search area.

The handover information reporting method includes: successfully executing, by user equipment (UE), a handover from a source base station to a target base station; and transmitting, by the UE, to the target base station a radio resource control (RRC) message including handover report information, the handover report information including an information element for indicating a radio link control (RLC) retransmission status, and the RLC retransmission status being a maximum value of a count value RETX_COUNT of an RLC layer of the UE for recording the number of retransmissions of an RLC service data unit (SDU) or an RLC protocol data unit (PDU).
METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING RADIO LINK FAILURE REPORT, AND TERMINAL DEVICE AND NETWORK DEVICE
A method for sending radio link failure (RLF) report includes: sending a CHO-related RLF report including at least one of: a result of signal measurement performed on a neighbor cell; a result of signal measurement performed on a candidate cell not meeting a handover execution/triggering condition; a list of candidate cells meeting the handover execution/triggering condition; a list of candidate cells not meeting the handover execution/triggering condition; an identifier of a first cell, where the first cell includes a cell where an RRC reconfiguration signaling is received; indication information of a handover execution condition type; a parameter corresponding to a configured handover execution condition; information used for indicating whether RLF occurs in the first cell until the CHO is performed; a length of time from receiving a CHO configuration to triggering the CHO; a handover type identifier.
Communication Method and Communication Apparatus
A communication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes recording first information after a terminal device is successfully handed over from a first network device to a target network device, and recording second information after a connection between the terminal device and the target network device fails.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING CONDITIONAL HANDOVER OF A USER EQUIPMENT
A computer implemented method (200) is disclosed for managing Conditional Handover of a UE in a cellular communication network. The method comprises receiving a report of radio resource measurements performed by a UE (210) and assigning a current radio location of the UE to a radio zone of the communication network on the basis of the contents of the report (220). A radio zone comprises a region of a multidimensional radio space over which the communication network extends that is defined by a particular combination of radio field characteristics (220a). Each cell of the communication network comprises a plurality of radio zones. The method further comprises updating, in a database, a trajectory of the UE through the radio space of the communication network with the radio zone to which the current radio location of the UE is assigned (230), and using the updated trajectory to calculate a probability of Handover of the UE to neighbor cells of the current serving cell of the UE (240). The method further comprises initiating a Conditional Handover procedure for Handover of the UE to neighbor cells for which the probability of Handover is above a first Handover threshold value (250).
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING MRO CRITICAL SCENARIO, AND APPARATUS
A method and a device for determining an MRO critical scenario and an apparatus are provided. The method includes: obtaining, by the UE, parameter information about a connection problem in the case that the connection problem has been detected by the UE in a cell handover process and cell handover has been performed successfully, or in the case that the connection problem has been detected by the UE within a predetermined time period after the cell handover is performed successfully; and transmitting, by the UE, the parameter information to a network device, so that the network device may determine the MRO critical scenario in accordance with the parameter information. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, it is able to determine the MRO critical scenario in a scenario where cell handover is performed successfully.
Methods, System and Access Point of a WLAN for Handling a Wireless Device Connected to an Access Point
Disclosed is a method performed by an access point, AP (120), of a WLAN (125), for handling a wireless device (140) connected to the AP (120). The method comprises obtaining information on signal quality of signals sent between the AP (120) and the wireless device (140), and when the obtained information on signal quality reveals that the signal quality is below a signal quality threshold, determining a current value of a wireless device characteristic. The method further comprises obtaining, from a pre-emptive handover system (150), an estimation of a likelihood of the wireless device (140) disconnecting from the WLAN for the current value of the wireless device characteristic, wherein the likelihood was determined from statistical information of earlier handling of the wireless device (140) by the AP (120) for different values of the wireless device characteristics. Further, when the received estimation of likelihood is above a likelihood threshold, accelerating a handover process of the wireless device (140) connection from the AP (120) to a network node (130) of a cellular communication network (100).
Radio Access Network Controller-Based Mobility Optimization
Radio access network controller-based mobility optimization is disclosed. Mobility reports are received at a radio access network controller from multiple network node devices, each mobility report reporting at least one individual failure event to complement one or more aggregated mobility event counters and/or one or more aggregated performance measurement reports. The mobility reports are related to client devices in one or more service areas. The radio access network controller analyzes the received mobility reports. In response to the analyzing resulting in a perceived need for an update of a cell configuration of a service area of the one or more service areas, the radio access network controller determines updated cell configuration information for the service area. The updated cell configuration information is transmitted from the radio access network controller to-wards at least one network node device in the service area.
