Secondary Cell-User Equipment Handovers
Techniques and apparatuses are described for secondary cell-user equipment (SC-UE) handovers. In aspects, a base station provides, as a primary cell, primary cell services to a first group of user equipments (UEs) in a first base station-user equipment dual connectivity (BUDC) group. In implementations, the base station determines to perform an SC-UE handover that disconnects a first UE from a first secondary cell-user equipment (SC-UE) that provides a first secondary cell to the first BUDC group and connects the first UE to a second SC-UE that provides a second secondary cell to a second BUDC group. The base station directs the first SC-UE to release the first UE from the first BUDC group, and communicates, as the primary cell, control-plane information or user-plane data with one or more UEs in the first group of UEs that remain in the first BUDC group.

A communication apparatus is provided that establishes a wireless LAN communication by handover. The communication apparatus communicates with an external apparatus through a first communication path. The communication apparatus includes a storage unit that store a communication parameter used for communicating with the external apparatus through a second communication path, a communication establishment control unit that performs control to establish communication with the external apparatus through the second communication path using the communication parameter stored, and a communication parameter change control unit that performs control to change the communication parameter stored in the external apparatus that establishes communication through the second communication path. The communication parameter change control unit prohibits change of the communication parameter stored in the external apparatus that establishes communication through the second communication path when the communication through the second communication path is established by switching from communication through the first communication path.

Deploying idle transceivers for rapid connection of Wi-Fi clients
Responsive to receiving a probe request at an idle transceiver over a first channel from a Wi-Fi client and a determination that the Wi-Fi client is not currently associated with the access point for service, a second channel being used for client service is identified. A probe response frame is generated including a CSA (channel switch announcement) indicating the second channel and transmitted to the Wi-Fi client causing authentication over the second channel. The Wi-Fi client is then serviced over the at least one non-idle transceiver over the second channel.
Wireless communication handover procedure
A method includes communicating with a remote device using a first access node of an access network; determining, by a centralized stack node of the access network, that a quality of a first wireless communication link between the remote device and the first access node is below a threshold; identifying a second access node in the access network for which a quality of a second wireless communication link between the remote device and the second access node is above the threshold; responsive to identifying the second access node, updating, by a centralized controller of the stack node, an access node identifier associated with a connection with the remote device to be an identifier for the second access node; and communicating with the remote device using the second access node.

Systems and methods are disclosed for handing off media content. A media player client receives a request to transfer a media stream, which is playing on a first media device, to a second media device. In response to determining that the second media device comprises a larger screen than the first media device, the media player content determines, based on the genre and resolution of the media stream data, whether the media stream data can be transferred, from the first media device to the second media device.
AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHING COMMUNICATION PATHWAYS BETWEEN CONNECTED DEVICES
Systems and methods for switching communication pathways between a mobile device and connected “Internet of Things” (IOT) device are described to improve scalability and communication between devices. An application on the mobile device may determine whether local or virtual local endpoints are available to route communications without using a remote IoT server endpoint. Communications and updates from multiple co-located, but not necessarily user-related connected devices may be aggregated, and sent to a remote IoT server to reduce the peak load scalability requirement of the server.
Communications device, infrastructure equipment and method
A communication device is configured to communicate with an infrastructure equipment forming part of a mobile communications network, and to communicate with one or more relay nodes of the mobile communications network. The communications device comprises a receiver configured to receive signals on the downlink from the one or more relay nodes via a first wireless interface, and to receive signals on the downlink from the infrastructure equipment via second wireless access interface, a transmitter configured to transmit signals on the uplink to the one or more relay nodes via the first wireless access interface, and to transmit signals on the uplink to the infrastructure equipment via the second wireless access interface, and a controller configured to control the receiver to receive the signals and to control the transmitter to transmit the signals.

COMMUNICATION CONTROL METHOD
A communication control method using a relay user equipment relaying communication between a remote user equipment and a base station includes the steps of transmitting and receiving, by a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) layer of the remote user equipment, to and from the base station via the relay user equipment, an RRC message performing control of communication with the base station, transmitting and receiving, by a second RRC layer of the remote user equipment, to and from the relay user equipment, an RRC message performing control of communication with the relay user equipment, and notifying, by the second RRC layer, the first RRC layer of communication state information regarding a failure or disconnection of a first radio link between the remote user equipment and the relay user equipment.
