Dynamic management of telecommunication services at user equipment

Systems and methods for dynamically managing the states (e.g., enabling/disabling) of telecommunication services/features are disclosed. To do so, the system associates parameters (e.g., timers) with the impacted services/features. For example, when a user experiences issues with voice calls, he/she calls the telecommunications service provider (carrier) to help resolve the issue. A customer care representative may ask the user to temporality turn off the VoNR service to help alleviate the issue. When the user turns off (or toggles off) the VoNR service on his/her mobile device, the system can start a configurable timer (parameter) for the VoNR service. In this manner, the system can replace the conventional toggle on/off feature with a time-based feature. The system monitors the timer's value and when the timers value reaches a target value (e.g., 24 hours, 1 week, etc.), the system alerts the user that the VoNR service will be turned on (or toggled on).

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for selective indications towards a UE (110), for example, at de-registration (110) from an AMF with request to re-register (130) with another AMF, are provided.

Method and apparatus for providing access traffic steering function in wireless communication system

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The disclosure proposes, when a UE is registered in an AMF which does not support ATSSS (registration procedure), a method by which, an old AMF identifies the registration and releases an MA PDU session and a method by which the UE identifies the registration and releases the MA PDU session in a wireless communication system according to an embodiment.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INDICATING THAT CONNECTION ENABLES ROUTING OF DATA BETWEEN PDN GATEWAY AND LOCAL GATEWAY
20230017009 · 2023-01-19 ·

A user equipment device (UE) initiates the creation of a dedicated bearer between a local gateway (L-GW) and a packet data network gateway (P-GW). A GTP tunnel is established to connect the L-GW, a serving gateway (S-GW), and the P-GW. The L-GW and P-GW apply Network Address Translation (NAT) and/or Traffic Flow Template (TFT) to route the traffic between the LS and a Service Capacity Server/Application Server (SCS/AS). Alternatively, an SCS-initiates the bearer creation, and an SCEF manages the creation of the GTP tunnel connecting. The L-GW may be co-located with an Evolved UTRAN Node B (eNB) and/or connected to multiple eNBs which are not co-located with the L-GW.

INTELLIGENT PACKET CORE SELECTION

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting at a mobile device a communication failure of a data connection between the mobile device and a source core network of a plurality of core networks available to the mobile device, the mobile device communicating with a respective core network of the plurality of core networks through a radio access network, selecting a destination core network of the plurality of core networks, and handing off the data connection from the source core network to the destination core network. Other embodiments are disclosed.

CONNECTION ESTABLISHMENT METHOD, COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
20230008647 · 2023-01-12 ·

A connection establishment method, a communication apparatus, and a system which are applied to a terminal device connected to an edge network. The method includes a core network element sending first information to at least one control network element, where the first information indicates that an edge network corresponding to a user plane network element serving the terminal device changes. The at least one control network element sends connection information of a first network element to the terminal device based on the first information, where the first network element is a network element in a first edge network corresponding to the user plane network element. After receiving the connection information of the first network element, and the connection information is used for the terminal device to connect to the first network element.

Communication terminal, network device, communication method, and non-transitory computer readable medium

A communication terminal (10) according to the present disclosure includes: a control unit (12) configured to, in a case of a movement from a communication area formed by the 5GS to a communication area formed by the EPS or a movement from a communication area formed by the EPS to a communication area formed by the 5GS, determine whether or not a communication system forming a communication area at a movement destination can satisfy requirements of services; and a communication unit (11) configured to, when it is determined that the communication system forming the communication area at the movement destination can satisfy the requirements of the services, send a connection request message to the communication system forming the communication area at the movement destination.

CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

A control device (15a) includes a control unit configured to: acquire a switching request based on a latency measured in a first application function (AF) (30) disposed in a first network slice (5) or in a terminal device (40) communicating with the first AF (30); and switch, based on the acquired switching request, a core network to be connected to the terminal device (40) from a first core network (10a) disposed in the first network slice (5) to a second core network (10b) disposed in a second network slice (6) by using the first AF (30), or using the first AF (30) and the terminal device (40), as an anchor.

Method and apparatus for managing mobility pattern of terminal

A method and an apparatus for managing a mobility pattern of a terminal are disclosed, to flexibly configure and manage a mobility pattern of a terminal based on an actual application scenario of the terminal, and optimize network performance. The method is: obtaining, by a control plane function (CPF) entity, mobility pattern related information of a terminal; determining, by the CPF entity, a first mobility pattern of the terminal based on the mobility pattern related information of the terminal; and sending, by the CPF entity, the determined first mobility pattern to a radio access network (RAN) node, where the first mobility pattern is used by the RAN node to determine a second mobility pattern of the terminal.

Call recovery for multiple call failures
11523318 · 2022-12-06 · ·

Techniques for call recovery for multiple call failures are described and may be implemented via a wireless device to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. For instance, when multiple call failures for a call occur over a particular set of radio access technologies, an IP-based call and/or a direct device-to-device call can be implemented to complete the call.
