Offline security value determination system and method
A method including collecting, by a communication device comprising a machine learning model obtained at least in part from a server computer, metadata associated with an application. The communication device can then embed the metadata to form vectorized data. The communication device can input the vectorized data into the machine learning model to obtain a security value. The communication device can determine whether to run or install the application based upon the security value.
Network-adaptive function control method for dual-mode mobile terminal
A network-adaptive function control method is provided for a dual-mode mobile terminal. The network-adaptive function control method for a dual-mode mobile terminal supports communication via first and second-type networks includes registering at least one function as a network-adaptive; determining, when a function is requested to be activated, whether the requested function is the network-adaptive function. If it is determined that the requested function is the network-adaptive function, it if determined whether the mobile terminal is in the first-type network; and activating, if the mobile terminal is in the first-type network, the requested function in association with the first-type network. The network-adaptive function control method of the present invention allows registering portable IP network-friendly functions that are served only in a portable IP network domain but not in the cellular network domain, thereby restricting handover to the costly cellular network, resulting in reduction of communication cost.
OFFLINE SECURITY VALUE DETERMINATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method includes receiving, by a server computer, data of a communication device; training, by the server computer, a neural network model based on the data of the communication device and communication device metadata from one or more additional communication devices, to generate a machine learning model configured to determine, based on a metadata associated with an application, a security value related to an indication of a security threat; and transmitting the machine learning model to the communication device. The communication device can use the machine learning model to determine the security value, by inputting the metadata associated with the application, as a vectorized data into the machine learning model. The communication device can determine whether to run or install the application based upon the security value.
MANAGING ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION WITH AN ACCESS POINT
A method for communicating in a wireless environment is provided that includes obtaining, with an access point of a first network in the wireless environment, responsiveness data from at least one electronic device. The method also includes communicating with the at least one electronic device to determine availability of a second network in the wireless environment to the electronic device, and determining communication responsiveness through the first network based on the responsiveness data. The method also includes obtaining use data from the at least one electronic device related to the second network, determining communication responsiveness through the second network based on the use data, and disconnecting, with the access point, the at least one electronic device based on the communication responsiveness through the second network.
Providing signal quality information for a non-primary base station
The subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods and systems for providing signal quality information for a non-primary base station. A computing device identifies a first quality of wireless communication between a first base station and the computing device. The computing device identifies, while remaining in communication with the first base station, a second quality of wireless communication between a second base station and the computing device. The computing device determines that the second quality of wireless communication is better than the first quality of wireless communication. The computing device continues to communicate with the first base station after having determined that the second quality of wireless communication is better than the first quality of wireless communication. The computing device provides, while continuing to communicate with the first base station, an indication that wireless communication with the computing device has the second quality of wireless communication.
METHOD AND PHONE SYSTEM FOR PRE-CALL QUALITY OF SERVICE ASSESSMENT OF AVAILABLE NETWORKS
A method for providing communication in a communication device is disclosed. The method may include receiving a control instruction for a call session via the communication device, and assessing a quality of service of at least one of a default Wi-Fi network and a radio network. The method may also include selectively recommending to a user of the communication device the radio network for the call session based on the quality of service, and initiating the call session using the default Wi-Fi network or the radio network based on a selection made by the user.
Power reduction techniques for dual-SIM devices
Techniques are disclosed relating to reducing power consumption in dual-SIM devices. In some embodiments, a UE includes at least two SIMs, including a home SIM and a configurable SIM. In this embodiment, the UE is configured to register, using a first protocol stack, the configurable SIM with a local network. In these embodiments, the UE is configured to determine if the local network is an available network for the home SIM. In these embodiments, the UE is configured to register, using the first protocol stack, the home SIM with the local network in response to determining that the local network is an available network for the home SIM. In these embodiments, the UE is configured to monitor, using the first protocol stack, for pages for each of the home SIM using the identifier of the home SIM and the configurable SIM using the identifier of the configurable SIM.
Agentless access control system for profile management
Systems and methods are provided for efficient and automated control of software permissions and access to network resources across a complex enterprise environment. An access request management (“ARM”) system may formulate a list of functions and associated parameters that may be processed by an agentless distribution system. In response to receiving the set of instructions, the agentless distribution system may generate system-specific executable instructions for performing automated control of one or more of the network resources. The agentless distribution system may formulate system-specific executable instructions for a network resource using commands that, when executed on the network resource, implement automated control in accordance with the parameters defined in the set of instructions provided by the ARM system.
Method and system of switching between mobile networks
A method of switching between mobile networks comprises the steps of: receiving, by a server, a mobile network switching request from the communication terminal input by a user; outputting, by the server, a list of mobile networks where the communication terminal is currently located to the user in response to receiving the mobile network switching request from the communication terminal; acquiring, by the communication terminal, a switched-to mobile network selected by the user from the list of mobile networks; allocating, by the server, a SIM card corresponding to the switched-to mobile network to the communication terminal; and switching, by the communication terminal, a switched-from mobile network to the switched-to mobile network by means of the SIM card. The problems in the prior art of being unable to freely change a virtual subscriber identity model card and switch a corresponding mobile network are effectively solved, thereby improving the user experience.
