Power Supply Module and Charged Particle Beam Device
The invention provides a power supply module and a charged particle beam device that are capable of reducing ripple noise. A high-voltage generation circuit 101 includes booster circuits CPa and CPb of two systems that are configured to be symmetrical to each other, and performs a boosting operation by using a capacitive element and a diode in the booster circuits CPa and CPb of the two systems. The high-voltage generation circuit is housed in a housing and a reference power supply voltage is applied thereto. A left electrode 102a is fixedly provided in the vicinity of one of the booster circuits CPa and CPb of the two systems in the housing, and a right electrode 102b is fixedly provided in the vicinity of the other of the booster circuits CPa and CPb of the two systems in the housing. A stray capacitance adjustment circuit 100a adjusts capacitance values of stray capacitances of the booster circuits CPa and CPb of the two systems by electrically controlling an electrical connection characteristic between the left electrode 102a and the reference power supply voltage 104 and an electrical connection characteristic between the right electrode 102b and the reference power supply voltage 104
OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION OF ACCELERATOR COMPONENTS
An over-voltage protection system for an accelerator can include: a plurality of DC power supplies configured to provide a plurality of voltage levels up to a desired voltage level; and an acceleration tube electrically connected to the plurality of DC power supplies and configured to accelerate a charged particle. The acceleration tube can include a plurality of stages. Each stage can include a plurality of electrodes and a plurality of varistors configured to discharge energy in response to an overvoltage event. One electrode of the plurality of electrodes can be electrically coupled to a voltage level of the plurality of voltage levels. The plurality of electrodes and the plurality of varistors can be electrically coupled to each other and arranged in an alternating fashion.
High voltage electrostatic generator
A high-voltage electrostatic generator has an assembly of concentric electrically conductive half-shells separated by an equatorial gap, essentially with cylindrical symmetry about an axis. Adjacent to the equatorial gap, edge regions of at least a selected subset of the half-shells are shaped.
Energy radiation generator with uni-polar voltage ladder
A well-logging tool may include a sonde housing and a radiation generator carried by the sonde housing. The radiation generator may include a generator housing, a target carried by the generator housing, a charged particle source carried by the generator housing to direct charged particles at the target, and at least one voltage source coupled to the charged particle source. The at least one voltage source may include a voltage ladder comprising a plurality of voltage multiplication stages coupled in a uni-polar configuration, and at least one loading coil coupled at at least one intermediate position along the voltage ladder. The well-logging tool may further include at least one radiation detector carried by the sonde housing.
Compact particle accelerator
A compact particle accelerator having an input portion configured to receive power to produce particles for acceleration, where the input portion includes a switch, is provided. In a general embodiment, a vacuum tube receives particles produced from the input portion at a first end, and a plurality of wafer stacks are positioned serially along the vacuum tube. Each of the plurality of wafer stacks include a dielectric and metal-oxide pair, wherein each of the plurality of wafer stacks further accelerate the particles in the vacuum tube. A beam shaper coupled to a second end of the vacuum tube shapes the particles accelerated by the plurality of wafer stacks into a beam and an output portion outputs the beam.
High-voltage protection and shielding within downhole tools
A downhole tool may include a voltage multiplier within a housing. The voltage multiplier may transform input power to the downhole tool from a first voltage to a second voltage higher than the first. The downhole tool may also include multiple shielding rings surrounding at least the voltage multiplier to reduce electric field stresses within the downhole tool. Additionally, the downhole tool may include an insulator located between the shielding rings and the housing.
Compact Motor-Driven Insulated Electrostatic Particle Accelerator
According to some embodiments, an electrostatic particle accelerator may include an assembly having a motor and support plate; an acceleration tube; one or more stage assemblies each having an alternator coupled to a common drive shaft, a power supply coupled to one of the plurality of electrodes, and an opening to receive a portion of the acceleration tube; a pressure vessel configured to enclose the acceleration tube when the pressure vessel is fastened to the support plate; and a circulator configured to pump high pressure gas into the pressure vessel. The acceleration tube can include an ion source, an extraction assembly, and a plurality of tube segments each having a plurality of electrodes and one or more power connectors attached to one of the electrodes.
Charged particle beam device
The present invention prevents breakage of a chip by using a simple configuration even when an extraction-electrode power source cannot apply voltage to an extraction electrode due to a malfunction, etc. This charged particle beam device is provided with: a charged particle source; an extraction electrode that extracts charged particles from the charged particle source; an extraction-electrode power source that applies voltage to the extraction electrode; an accelerating electrode for accelerating the charged particles; an accelerating power source that applies voltage to the accelerating electrode; and a diode and a resistor which are connected in series between a middle stage of the accelerating power source and the output side of the extraction-electrode power source.
HIGH-VOLTAGE PROTECTION AND SHIELDING WITHIN DOWNHOLE TOOLS
A downhole tool may include a voltage multiplier within a housing. The voltage multiplier may transform input power to the downhole tool from a first voltage to a second voltage higher than the first. The downhole tool may also include multiple shielding rings surrounding at least the voltage multiplier to reduce electric field stresses within the downhole tool. Additionally, the downhole tool may include an insulator located between the shielding rings and the housing.
Self-shielding accelerator and pet plastic bottle production line utilizing same
A self-shielding accelerator is provided, which includes an accelerator assembly, a high-frequency electrode plate, a rectification and voltage multiplication assembly, a solenoid-type transformer assembly, a cooling system assembly and a shielding steel cylinder. The self-shielding accelerator further includes a steel cylinder base connected to the shielding steel cylinder. The accelerator assembly is horizontally fixed to the steel cylinder base. The rectification and voltage multiplication assembly is fixed to the steel cylinder base by a support plate. The high-frequency electrode plate and the solenoid-type transformer assembly are connected to the steel cylinder base through multiple horizontally arranged support columns. The cooling system assembly is fixed to the shielding steel cylinder. The self-shielding accelerator adopts a fully horizontal self-shielding structure, and can be seamlessly joined to the filling production line, which makes online radiation processing possible. A PET plastic bottle production line utilizing the accelerator is also provided.
