Animal feed binders derived from pectin- and protein-containing feedstock
A method of making a binder for extruded, pelleted, or agglomerated animal feed. The binder is made by treating biomass such as soybean hull or lemon peels with an aqueous acidic solution for a time, at a temperature, and at a pH sufficient to yield a first mixture containing biomass solids and partially dissolved biomass; and mechanically treating the first mixture of step to yield a first mechanically treated mixture; and then incorporating the first mechanically treated mixture as a binder in an animal feed. Also described are animal feeds made using the binder.
METHOD AND FEED FOR REDUCTION OF THE CONTENT OF UNDESIRED NUTRIENTS IN THE WATER DISCHARGED FROM A FISH FARM
A farming feed for fish in freshwater, wherein, in addition to the content of starch as an ordinary binder, there has been added to the feed up to 25 g per kg of constituent feed ingredients of a faecal binder of a non-starch type, and methods of making and using the same. The feed may be of a pressed or extruded type.
COMPOSITION FOR PROTECTING LIVER, PROTECTING INTESTINES AND ENHANCING IMMUNITY FOR FRESHWATER FISH, AND PREPARATION AND APPLICATION THEREOF
A composition for protecting liver, protecting intestines and enhancing immunity for freshwater fish is disclosed, including the following raw materials in parts by weight: 15˜27 parts of Andrographis herba, 18˜22 parts of Isatidis folium, 10˜15 parts of Polygonum hydropiper, 8˜12 parts of Rheum palmatum L., and 8˜12 parts of Galla chinensis. And the preparation and the application of the composition are disclosed. The composition of the disclosure has the effect of resisting bacteria, scavenge free radicals, clearing heat, detoxifying, preventing and treating enteritis and the like, which can effectively improve the immunity of the freshwater fish and ensure the health of the organism.
Microbial-Based Process for High Quality Protein Concentrate
The present invention describes a bio-based process to produce high quality protein concentrate (HQPC) by converting plant derived celluloses into bioavailable protein via aerobic incubation, including the use of such HQPC so produced as a nutrient, including use as a fish meal replacement in aquaculture diets.
A METHOD FOR IMPROVING THE NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF ANIMAL FEED
The invention relates to the use of at least one bacterial phytase in combination with one or more protease(s) in animal feed for improving nutrient and E ileal digestibility of animal feed, in particular an improved digestibility of Threonine, Proline and Cysteine, the method comprising the step of applying to the animal a feed with an efficient amount of one or more proteolytic enzyme in combination with at least one phytase.
Synthetic capsaicin analogues as bioenhancers
The present invention relates to synthetic capsaicin analogues, tautomers or salts thereof and their use as bioenhancers. The invention provides substituted capsaicyns for use as a bioenhancer, use as a bioenhancer on active substances, in compositions preferably for oral administration, such as in feed, food, pharmaceutical compositions or supplements.
Vitamin and carotenoid powder and its preparation method and application
The present invention discloses a method for preparation of vitamin and carotenoid powder; the vitamin and carotenoid powder comprises vitamin, carotenoid microcapsule and physical gel protection film covered on the surface of the vitamin and carotenoid microcapsule; the physical gel protection film is made from super-molecular system; the super-molecular system comprises the following constituents of parts in weight: vegetable oil: 6-30 parts; gel: 0.5-3 parts and antioxidant: 0.5-3 parts. The hot super-molecular solution is sprayed on the surface of cold vitamin and carotenoid microcapsule during preparation to form a specific 3D network structure that is used to bind the liquefied vegetable oil to form a physical gel protection film; the physical gel protection film has improved product storage stability as well as the its stability for application in feedstuff, food and health care products.
Barley protein production process
A process to produce a protein concentrate from grain, specifically barley protein concentrate (BPC) through mechanical and biochemical intervention while producing multiple sugar streams as co-products. The resulting BPC preferably contains 54%-95% protein derived exclusively from the enzymatically processed barley and has a pH>5.0. The BPC may contain approximately 10% oil, less than 5% crude fiber, less than 1% residual glucose, and less than 0.5% phytic acid. The BPC contains no ethanol, organic acid, fermentation products, or microbial cells or cell mass. No fermentation occurs in the production of the BPC. The BPC has unique applications in formulations for aquaculture or livestock feed, and other pet food as well as for food formulations intended for human consumption. The sugar co-products, including glucose, have applications in industry and science and are particularly suitable for use as feedstocks for fermentation processes, livestock feeds, or biochemical conversion processes.
Composition and/or combination for aquaculture
Disclosed embodiments concern a composition and/or combination, and a method of administering the same as a feed, or to supplement the feed of, aquatic animals, particularly for aquaculture. Disclosed composition and/or combination embodiments may comprise glucan, silica, mineral clay, mannans, yucca, quillaja, a probiotic, and/or an adhesive agent. The adhesive agent may be selected particularly to facilitate administration to aquatic species. In certain embodiments the adhesive agent comprises an oil, such as soy oil, or a syrup, such as molasses, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments the composition and/or combination may further comprise polyphenol, an antimicrobial, and/or a vaccine. Also disclosed is a method for promoting growth and/or immune function in aquatic animals.
Feedstuff of high abrasion resistance and good stability in water, containing PUFAs
According to the invention, it was found that, surprisingly, a feedstuff having a very high abrasion resistance and very high water stability can be obtained when a PUFA-containing biomass having a high sulphate content is used for producing the feedstuff.
