Each of the power supply units includes a distributed power supply, a first interface outputting DC power to the power conversion device, an individual converter converting the DC power to AC power, and a second interface outputting the AC power output from the individual converter. The power conversion device includes a coupling side converter that converts the direct current power output from the power supply units to AC power, and an interface for outputting the AC power output from the coupling side converter. The power supply system includes a controller for controlling at least one of a corresponding one of the power supply units or the power conversion device based on communication information obtained by communication between the corresponding one of the power supply units or the power conversion device.
Heat Supply System
A heat supply system with a first temperature detection unit that detects a first temperature of hot water in a tank, and a second temperature detection unit that detects a second temperature above the first temperature detection unit. When the first temperature is a first lower limit temperature or less, where a temperature increase operation by a combined heat and power supply device is permitted, a control device operates the combined heat and power supply device and flow state adjustment devices such that a heat medium circulates between the combined heat, power supply device, and hot water storage device. When the second temperature is a second lower limit temperature or less, where a temperature increase operation by a boiler device is permitted, the control device operates the boiler device and the flow state adjustment devices such that the heat medium circulates between the boiler device and hot water storage device.
SUPER CLEAR CELLULOSE PAPER
Wood fibers possess natural unique hierarchical and mesoporous structures that enable a variety of new applications beyond their traditional use. For the first time we dramatically modulate the propagation of light through random network of wood fibers. A highly transparent and clear paper with transmittance >90% and haze <1.0% applicable for high-definition displays is achieved. By altering the morphology of the same wood fibers that form the paper, highly transparent and hazy paper targeted for other applications such as solar cell and anti-glare coating with transmittance >90% and haze >90% is also achieved. A thorough investigation of the relation between the mesoporous structure and the optical properties in transparent paper was conducted, including full-spectrum optical simulations. We demonstrate commercially competitive multi-touch touchscreen with clear paper as a replacement for plastic substrates, which shows excellent process compatibility and comparable device performance for commercial applications. Transparent cellulose paper with tunable optical properties is an emerging photonic material that will realize a range of much improved flexible electronics, photonics and optoelectronics.
HEATING SYSTEM
A system for heating a first fluid flow from a first temperature to a second temperature, the system including a hot water supply line for receiving the first fluid flow at a first end and exhausting the first fluid flow at a second end; and a heating system including a heat engine, a thermal battery and a heat exchanger, wherein the thermal battery is configured to be replenished at a point of heat transfer by the heat engine and the hot water supply line is configured to receive heat from the thermal battery via the heat exchanger to elevate the temperature of the first fluid flow from the first temperature to the second temperature.
Solar air heater
A method, system, apparatus, and/or device for preheating air for a rooftop air handling unit (RTU). The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include a barrier system configured to surround the RTU. The barrier system may include a structure to provide a frame for the barrier system, a first barrier configured to connect to a first side of the structure, and a collector configured to connect to a second side of the structure. The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include a duct configured to connect between the collector and a chamber. The method, system, apparatus, and/or device may include a chamber configured to connect to an air intake hood of the RTU. The chamber may include a first opening to receive air stored in the cavity, a second opening to receive external air, and a diverter configured to switch between a first position and a second position.

Off-grid electrical power system
Various implementations power homes and businesses without needing to connect to electric utility company-provided power, i.e., they can operate off-grid. Generally the system includes solar panel racks (e.g., photovoltaic cells on sheets stabilized using ballasts, anchors, or mounting) that generate electrical power used to provide power to a building or that is stored on batteries. The system includes the solar panel racks and an enclosure to be installed at the premises and separate from the building.
