MANIPULATION OF FLUIDS, FLUID COMPONENTS AND REACTIONS IN MICROFLUIDIC SYSTEMS
Microfluidic structures and methods for manipulating fluids, fluid components, and reactions are provided. In one aspect, such structures and methods can allow production of droplets of a precise volume, which can be stored/maintained at precise regions of the device. In another aspect, microfluidic structures and methods described herein are designed for containing and positioning components in an arrangement such that the components can be manipulated and then tracked even after manipulation. For example, cells may be constrained in an arrangement in microfluidic structures described herein to facilitate tracking during their growth and/or after they multiply.

Gas valve with overpressure diagnostics
A gas valve assembly may include a valve body with one or more valves movable between an opened position and a closed position, one or more valve actuators configured to operate the valves, and one or more pressure sensors to sense a pressure within a fluid path of the valve assembly. A valve controller may receive a measure related to a sensed pressure from the one or more pressure sensor(s). The valve controller may compare the received measure related to the sensed pressure to an overpressure threshold. In the event the measure related to the sensed pressure surpasses the overpressure threshold value, the valve controller may be configured to provide a signal that indicates an overpressure event has occurred.
Breathing apparatus with illuminated connection
A breathing system includes a tank for pressurized breathing gas, at least one regulator comprising a connection to which the tank is attachable, a universal air connector in fluid connection with the connection, and at least one light source, the light source, when illuminated, providing a guide to connect a connector in fluid connection with a secondary tank to the universal air connector to supply breathing gas to the tank.
Main Stage In-Line Pressure Control Cartridge with Optional Reverse Flow Function
A main stage in-line pressure control cartridge. The cartridge selectively controls flow in-line in the same direction as opposed to directing flow at a 90 degree angle like other cartridges. A tubular poppet can be mounted into a body and has a sliding control sleeve that can expose radial holes in the poppet to an open position and to seal the radial holes in a closed position. The cartridge can be configured in numerous ways in order to serve many functions, such as a pressure relief valve, a counterbalance valve, and a flow control valve. The cartridge can also be configured to allow or prevent reverse flow.
DAMPING DEVICE
A damping device, in particular for damping or preventing pressure impacts, like pulsations, in hydraulic supply circuits, comprising a damping housing (1) which surrounds a damping chamber and has at least one fluid inlet (13) and a fluid outlet (15) and a damping tube (21; 51) located in the flow path between the damping inlet and outlet, said damping tube having at least one branch opening (29; 73, 75, 77, 79, 81) passing through the tube wall and leading to a Helmholtz volume (27; 53, 55, 57, 59, 61) inside of the damping housing (1) for forming a Helmholtz resonator in a region positioned inside of the length of the damping tube, characterized in that a fluid filter (35) is arranged inside of the damping housing (1) in the flow path running between the fluid inlet (13) and fluid outlet (15).
Device capable of pressurization and associated systems and methods
Exemplary embodiments are directed to devices, methods and systems capable of pressurization, generally involving a flow system that includes a pressurized reservoir, at least one pump including a pump control valve, an outlet port, a shut-off valve and a vent valve. The flow system is configured to be pressurized. The shut-off valve is disposed between the pressurized reservoir and the at least one pump. The vent valve is disposed between the at least one pump and the outlet port. The shut-off valve, the vent valve and the pump control valve of the at least one pump are configured to actuate in a coordinated manner to control a pressurization of the flow system. Exemplary embodiments are further directed to devices, methods and systems for column switching, generally including at least a first column, a second column and a column switching valve.
System and method of automatic tank refill
A fire truck operable to automatically refill a water tank comprises a first pressure transducer coupled to an intake inlet of the pump and operable to measure an intake pressure, a second pressure transducer coupled to a discharge outlet of the pump and operable to measure a discharge pressure, a first discharge pipe coupled between the discharge outlet of the pump and a fire hose, a second discharge pipe coupled between the discharge outlet of the pump and the water tank, a control valve disposed in the second discharge pipe, and a controller operable to automatically sense a low water level condition of the tank, and automatically control the engine speed, the pump speed, and the control valve so that adequate water supply to the fire hose via the first discharge pipe is automatically given priority and maintained while automatically refilling the water tank via the second discharge pipe.
RENAL THERAPY MACHINE AND SYSTEM INCLUDING A PRIMING SEQUENCE
A renal therapy machine includes a blood filter including a plurality of porous fibers; a blood circuit in communication with the blood filter; and a dialysate circuit in communication with the blood filter and operable with at least one pump, wherein the renal therapy machine is configured to perform a priming sequence in which a physiologically compatible solution, other than dialysate, primes the blood circuit and is flowed within the fibers and through pores in the fibers of the blood filter, and the pump of the dialysate circuit vents air from the blood filter into the dialysate circuit.
Arrangement for handling a liquid medium
An arrangement for managing a liquid medium, such as water, combines a pressure-reducing valve with two backflow prevention valves. Both the pressure-reducing valve and the two backflow prevention valves may be integrated into a common housing, specifically with both backflow prevention valves in an inlet chamber of the housing, wherein the inlet chamber and an outlet chamber of the housing are either fluidly coupled or isolated from one another by the pressure-reducing valve depending on the outlet chamber pressure prevailing in the outlet chamber. In some instances, a manually actuatable shut-off valve may be integrated into the housing. The manually actuatable shut-off valve may selectively keep the pressure-reducing valve in a closed position or allow the automatic opening and closing of the pressure-reducing valve depending on the outlet chamber pressure prevailing in the outlet chamber.
