The valve unit is attachable to and detachable from a unit fitting portion in the valve box main body. A gripping member is provided on the valve seat. As a result, access to the valve unit attached to the unit fitting portion through the access hole becomes remarkably easier. Therefore, a maintenance operator can perform a fitting operation and a removal operation of the valve unit to and from the unit fitting portion quickly with high work efficiency.

Flapper valve

Flapper valves may be provided with flapper assemblies. The flapper assemblies comprise a bracket, a flapper, a bearing, and a pin. The bracket has a pair of knuckles with a bore extending through the knuckles. The flapper has a knuckle with a bore. The bearing is mounted in the flapper knuckle bore and has a bore extending through it. The pin extends through the bores in the bracket knuckles and the bearing bore. The pin and the bracket are locked to each other. Clearance between the pin and the bearing bore allows relative rotation between the flapper and the pin. The flapper thus is mounted to the bracket for pivoting movement between a closed position, in which the flapper is adapted to bear on a seat in the flapper valve, and an open position, in which the flapper is adapted to pivot away from the seat.

CHECK VALVE PIVOT PIN RETAINER SEAL

Embodiments relate to a check valve and methods of making a check valve that include a valve body having an inlet end, an outlet end, a flow bore that extends between the inlet and outlet ends, a cavity which intersects the flow bore, and an opening which is connected to the cavity. In certain embodiments, the check valve further includes a cap removably secured in the opening, a seat cartridge disposed in the cavity, wherein the seat cartridge comprises a chamber with a flow bore, a retainer ring positioned in the valve body between the cap and the seat cartridge, a pivot pin retainer seal provided between the retainer ring and the valve body, wherein the pivot pin retainer seal comprises one or more protrusions extending outwardly in a radial direction from the retainer ring to seal on the valve body, and a flapper pivotally connected to the retainer ring, wherein the flapper is pivotable through the chamber between a closed position in which the flapper is positioned against a shoulder in the seat cartridge and an open position in which the flapper is displaced from the shoulder.

Check valve flapper with reduced moment of inertia and method of making

A check valve includes a valve seat defining an aperture and a seating surface. A flapper is a single homogeneous component having a contact surface and a filler portion. The flapper is pivotally movable relative to the valve seat between a valve closed position in which the contact surface is sealably engaged to the seating surface thereby occluding flow through the aperture, and a valve open position in which the contact surface is a distance from the seating surface. The filler portion has a plurality of voids such that a density of the flapper is lower than if the voids were not present. A method is also disclosed.

Valve Assembly For Exhaust System

A valve assembly for an exhaust system of a vehicle comprises a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and a longitudinally extending exhaust gas passageway in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. The valve assembly further comprises a valve flap disposed in the housing and rotatable between a first position restricting exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas passageway, and a second position whereat exhaust gas flow through the exhaust gas passageway is less restricted. A mass damper is disposed within the exhaust gas passageway and attached to the valve flap. The mass damper includes end portions and an intermediate portion disposed between the end portions with the intermediate portion having a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the end portions. The mass damper is positioned proximate an inner surface of the housing and positioned between the valve flap and the housing when the valve flap is at the second position.

Check valves

A check valve comprises a valve housing defining an opening and a plurality of flapper elements each having a proximal end and a distal end. The flapper elements are pivotally mounted to the valve housing at their proximal ends for pivotal movement between a closed position, in which they block the flow of fluid through the opening and an open position in which they permit the flow of fluid through the opening. Each flapper element is generally triangular or trapezoidal in shape such that the flapper elements together create a generally conical or frustoconical surface when the valve is in the closed position. A resilient band extending around a circumference of the conical or frustoconical surface defined by the plurality of flapper elements in the closed position for biasing the flapper elements towards the closed position.
