A pair of annular inserts of elastomeric material is circumferentially applied by spiraling around a laying surface of an auxiliary drum. Then a plurality of strip-like elements disposed in parallel side by side relationship with each other in the circumferential extension of the laying surface is applied onto the auxiliary drum, so as to form at least one first belt layer. Respectively opposite end portions of each strip-like element are radially superposed, each against one of the annular inserts, so that each of the annular inserts projects from a respective end edge of the strip-like element. The cap structure formed on the auxiliary drum is coupled to a carcass structure through toroidal conformation of the latter, in such a manner that the radially external ends of sidewall portions previously manufactured on the carcass plies are associated with the axially external ends of the annular inserts.

In a process for building tires, a carcass structure which includes at least one carcass ply and a belt structure, is formed. Manufacture of the belt structure includes: forming a first portion of at least one cushion insert through spiralling of a continuous elongated element; forming at least one first belt layer in a radially external position to the first portion in such a manner that the first portion axially projects from one of the axially opposite side edges of the first belt layer, forming a second portion of the cushion insert through spiralling of a continuous elongated element in a radially external position to the side edge of the first belt layer and to a stretch of the first portion projecting from the side edge itself, so as to enclose the side edge between the first and second portions of the cushion insert.

Aircraft tire with specified zigzag working reinforcement

The working reinforcement (2) of an aircraft tire is made by the zigzag winding of a strip (5) having width W, with a periodic curve (7), corresponding to the mid-line of the strip, forming, with the circumferential direction (XX), a non-zero angle A. The circumferential distance (c) between the extrema (S.sub.51, S.sub.52, S.sub.53) of the respective mid-lines of two consecutive strip portions (51, 52, 53) is equal to the ratio W/sin A. For any set of three consecutive strip portions (51, 52, 53), made up of a first, a second and a third portion, the respective mid-lines of the first and third strip portions (51, 53) intersect at an intersection point (I), axially aligned with the extremum (S.sub.52) of the mid-line of the second strip portion (52) and axially on the inside of said extremum (S.sub.52) at an axial distance (a) at least equal to the width W.

Tyre for motorcycles

Tyre for motorcycles includes a carcass structure, a belt structure arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the carcass structure and a tread band arranged in a radially outer position with respect to the belt structure, wherein the belt structure is of the zero degree type and includes at least one reinforcing cord having an elongation at break smaller than about 3%; the cord includes a plurality of first metal wires twisted together so as to form a core of first metal wires and a plurality of second metal wires twisted together around said core; and the number and the diameter of the second metal wires are such that the second metal wires are not able to fully enclose the core.

A tire with a circumferential reinforcement layer formed by spirally winding rubber strips in the same direction from different positions arranged in the width direction of the tire. The rubber strips (12A and 12B) are arranged with spaces in a part or the entirety of the tire in the width direction; among those end portions of the rubber strips, at least medial end portions (12Bs and 12Ae) that are located on the equatorial plane side of the tire are arranged at positions where the medial end portions completely overlap with rib-form land portions (2a) in the width direction of the tire; and the width of the rib-form land portions overlapping with the medial end portions is defined as W and the width of the rubber strips is defined as G, wherein a relationship G<W is satisfied.

Vehicle tire comprising a layer of circumferential reinforcing elements

A tire with radial carcass reinforcement comprises a crown reinforcement including a layer of circumferential reinforcing elements distributed axially at a variable pitch. The layer of circumferential reinforcing elements is radially crowned by a tread strip, which is connected to two beads by two sidewalls. The layer of circumferential reinforcing elements comprises five parts, including a central part, two intermediate parts and two axially outer parts. The value of the pitch in the two intermediate parts is less than a value of the pitch in the two axially outer parts. Each axially outer part is axially separated from the central part by a corresponding intermediate part. The value of the pitch in each intermediate part is less than a value of the pitch in the central part, and the value of the pitch in each axially outer part is less than the value of the pitch in the central part.
