Garment shaping device
10287721 · 2019-05-14 ·

Disclosed is a two part device for the use of shaping and styling garments such as t-shirts. The bottom device is a solid plastic unit which is rigid on the outside edge and gets thinner towards the inside of the unit forming the plurality of members which, because of the thinness of the plastic, the members become flexible. The inner plurality of integrally formed flexible inner members are spaced apart with an opening that allows the garment fabric to be pulled through and held securely in place. The top device, a solid unit made of elastomeric plastic, fits over top of the bottom device and snaps in place to hide the garment fabric and add style to the garment. The top device is not needed to hold the garment fabric in place but rather is used as a decorative unit to add style to the garment.

Mounting clip and related methods

A mounting clip may be provided that is configured to be secured to a stiffener and provide attachment of external components to the stiffener. In one example, the mounting clip includes a frame with a base and legs. Opposing engagement members extend from the legs. The opposing engagement members each include a pair of deformable flexures and a pad, which engages a surface of the stiffener. The stiffener may be inserted into a channel defined by engagement members and translated upwards, thus, translating the pads upward and inward. Subsequently, the pads and deformable flexures provide a compressive clamping stress on the stiffener and therefore permanently secure the mounting clip to the stiffener.

Suture securement devices

Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments of suture securement devices that replace the need to tie knots in sutures. Some embodiments comprise an annular outer body and one or more suture engagement tabs extending inwardly from the outer body. The devices can comprise a superelastic and/or shape-memory material and have a generally in-plane initial configuration. The suture engagement portions are deformable out-of-plane to an active configuration with the outer body compressed and the tabs interlocked with each other. The device can be heat-set in the deformed configuration. The interlocked tabs exert a pinching force on sutures passing between them that restricts the sutures from sliding through the opening in one longitudinal direction.
