Method for manufacturing an electric cable
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing an electric cable (2), according to which the cable (2) is successively processed in processing modules (41, 43) that are independent from one another. According to the invention, at least one sheath clamp (10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4), which is independent from the plug connectors (22) that are to be mounted on the cable (2) during manufacturing, is attached to a cable sheath (9) of the cable (2) in a non-positive fit at a defined axial position along the longitudinal axis (L) of the cable (2). Alternatively or in addition, the cable (2) is attached to a cable carrier (4), wherein the cable carrier (4) comprises at least one stop element (44) which is arranged at a defined axial position along the longitudinal axis (L) of the cable (2).
METHOD AND CABLE FABRICATION DEVICE FOR ASSEMBLING A CABLE CONNECTOR
A method for assembling a cable connector which has an outer conductor part, and insulating part and an electrical cable that is prefabricated with an inner conductor part. In a first method step, the insulating part is introduced into the outer conductor part by relative movement between the insulating part and the outer conductor part. In a second method step, before or at least partially during the first method step, the electrical cable is prefabricated to have an inner conductor part secured on an inner conductor of the cable. In a third method step, during or after the first method step, the prefabricated cable is introduced into the insulating part up to a defined axial terminal position. The positions of the inner conductor part, the outer conductor part and/or the insulating part are fixed relative to each other by compressing the outer conductor part at least partly.
Compression tool with biasing member
An assembly comprises a compression member configured to receive a force input from a compression tool and a frame including a cradle at one end, an end fitting at the other, and at least one structural member linking the cradle to the end fitting. The cradle is configured to engage one end of the connector and receives the prepared end of the coaxial cable. The end fitting is configured to detachably connect the frame to the compression tool and includes an aperture for receiving the force input from the compression tool. The structural member defines at least one surface configured to guide the compression member along the axis in response to the force input. The compression member imposes an axial force on the other end of the connector and is guided along the axis by the guide surface of the frame.

Method of crimping an electrical terminal onto a flat flexible cable
A method of attaching an electrical terminal to a flat flexible cable includes the step of deforming crimp wings on an electrical terminal to engage a flat flexible cable.
Terminating tool for terminating wires to a communication module; and methods
Aspects and techniques of the present disclosure relate to a tool capable of terminating two different jack types (i.e. communication modules). That is, two different jack types can be arranged and configured to sit in the tool with a termination device. The tool can be a dual-purpose tool that has a configuration that allows a user to terminate different style jacks by adding termination device that becomes a lacing fixture.
Wire positioning device
Wire positioning devices (1) for positioning an electrical wire (2) in a processing device, include a wire guide (4) for receiving the electrical wire (2) and a lowering device (5), movable vertically in relation to a first longitudinal axis (45) of the wire (2) received in the wire guide (4). The lowering device (5) has a press piece (6), spring-loaded via at least one spring element (15), and is provided so as to be contacted against the wire guide (4), the spring element (15) being arranged in a tube (16). Also disclosed are methods for lowering thin wires (2) and for positioning them in an oscillation-damped manner, wherein a wire positioning device (1) or a processing device are employed.
Cable Connector Accessory Assemblies and Methods for Connecting Cables to Cable Connector Accessories
Methods for connecting cables and cable connector accessories include inserting an end portion of the cable into a bore defined in a main body of the cable connector accessory, the cable connector accessory formed from an aluminum. Methods further include detonating an explosive, the explosive comprising a detonation cord surrounding an outer surface of the main body of the connector accessory. Detonation of the explosive compresses the main body around the end portion of the cable.
Integrated voltage sense and bus bar system and method for vehicles having a traction battery
A vehicle includes a traction battery having a plurality of battery cells positioned in an array with a non-conductive bus bar housing having a plurality of compartments insulated from one another and containing one or more bus bars each having an integrally formed voltage sense connector. Each compartment may accommodate terminals of a pair of adjacent battery cells to be coupled by the associated bus bar. The voltage sense connector may include fingers for crimping and securing a voltage sense wire or a welding pad for welding, soldering, or similar connection. The voltage sense wires connect to a battery control module.
Method for aligning a crimper of a first tool of a crimping press relative to an anvil of a second tool of the crimping press
A method for aligning a crimper of a first tool of a crimping press relative to an anvil of a second tool of the crimping press, wherein the crimper and the anvil make a crimp connection jointly by moving the crimper relative to the anvil in a first direction, includes: determining a lateral offset of a center line of the crimper to a center line of the anvil in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, wherein the center line of the crimper runs through a center of the crimper and in the first direction and wherein the center line of the anvil runs through a center of the anvil and in the first direction; and moving the crimper relative to the anvil in the second direction for lowering the lateral offset.
