Replacement determination device for electrical discharge machining electrode and replacement determination method

A replacement determination method: detects the remaining length of the electrode; detects the electrical discharge commencement position, being the position of the electrode when electrical discharge starts; detects the throughole position, being the position of the electrode when the workpiece is pierced; sets the required length for the electrode as required for machining the next throughhole, on the basis of the difference between the detected electrical discharge commencement position and the detected throughole position; compares the detected remaining length and the set required length; and determines whether or not electrode replacement is required.

System for manufacturing a swallowable sensor device

Methods and systems for manufacturing a swallowable sensor device are disclosed. Such a method includes mechanically coupling a plurality of internal components, wherein the plurality of internal components includes a printed circuit board having a plurality of projections extending radially outward. A cavity is filled with a potting material, and the mechanically coupled components are inserted into the cavity. The cavity may be pre-filled with the potting material, or may be filled after the mechanically coupled components have been inserted therein. A distal end of each projection abuts against a wall of the cavity thereby preventing the potting material from covering each distal end. The cavity is sealed with a cap causing the potting material to harden within the sealed cavity to form a housing of the swallowable sensor device, wherein the distal end of each projection is exposed to an external environment of the swallowable sensor device.

Wafer bonding method and wafer bonding apparatus

A method of aligning two wafers during a bonding process includes aligning a first wafer having a plurality of alignment markings with a second wafer having a plurality of alignment markings. The method further includes placing a plurality of flags between the first wafer and the second wafer. The method further includes detecting movement of the plurality of flags with respect to the first wafer and the second wafer using at least one sensor. The method further includes determining whether the wafers remain aligned within an alignment tolerance based on the detected movement of the plurality of flags relative to the first wafer and the second wafer.

New battery and other electrical energy storage device tanks, immersion fluids, dispensers, and recharging techniques are provided. in some aspects, a plurality of batteries or other electrical energy storage devices with a plurality of battery contacts may be delivered to an energy storage and extraction tank, itself comprising electrical contacts for interfacing with the battery contacts. The batteries or other electrical energy storage devices may be delivered to the tank in any order and number, any of which results in bridging contacts between the devices and the tank, powering an electrical load. Variable contacts and positions between the elements aid. in placing them in optimized orders within an electrical circuit managed by computer hardware and software. A dispenser aids in removing and replacing depleted devices, and assessing a monetary charge to a user. These energy tank and delivery techniques are applied, inter aha, to rapidly re-energizing electronic vehicles (“EVs”).

An apparatus and method for determining whether a conductive ring is attached to an electrically conductive shaft. The body of the apparatus includes an electrical contact and side magnets positioned in a recess along the circumference of the cavity. When the shaft is received by the body, the electrical contact is in contact with the conductive shaft and the side magnets in the recess are in contact with the ring attached to the shaft, if present. An electrical signal is provided to the shaft and ring via the magnets and an output signal is generated. The output signal is indicative of whether the ring is attached to the shaft.
