A door lock for a top loading electrical appliance is provided that includes a latch head for locking a door of the top loading electrical appliance and a limiting mechanism for limiting rotation of the latch head before the door of the top loading electrical appliance reaches a closed position. The latch head is rotatable about an axis and has a latch head unlock position and a latch head lock position. The latch head may rotate between the latch head unlock position and the latch head lock position and the limiting mechanism may be arranged for limiting the latch head from rotating from the latch head unlock position to the latch lead lock position before the door of the top loading electrical appliance reaches a closed position.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to an access control system having a planar interlocking mechanism including two reflectively symmetric rotating moon gears mechanically coupled by a linear slide configured to respond to rotation of the moon gears. In an illustrative example, the moon gears are mechanically coupled by the linear slide via respective actuating cams. The moon gears may be provided, for example, with locking cams configured to releasably secure the linear slide via a corresponding follower on the linear slide. Rotation of one moon gear into a first mode may, for example, place the other moon gear in a second mode, and vice versa. Each moon gear may be configured, for example, to be operated by a removable peg. Various embodiments may advantageously be configured such that release of a removable peg from one moon gear captures a peg in a corresponding moon gear.

A fenestration system is disclosed. In some examples, the fenestration system includes one or more movable window sashes and a toggle assembly. In some examples, the toggle assembly operates to limit the degree to which the window sashes are opened or otherwise moved relative to one another. In some examples, a window sash may be opened a designated amount before the toggle assembly operates to obstruct it from being further opened.

Firearm associated electronic device with acceleration resistant latch

Firearm associated electronic devices are provided. In one aspect a firearm associated device has a housing having a holding area and an opening through which a removable component may be positioned in the holding area, a door movable relative to the housing and having a door latch that moves along a path as the door moves and a housing latch movable between a first latch position where the housing latch is not in the path to a second latch position where the housing latch blocks movement of the door latch from a first range of positions where the door prevents the removable component from passing through the opening to a second range of positions where the door does not prevent the removable component from passing through the opening. A housing latch biasing member biases the housing latch into the second latch position. When the door latch is in the first range of positions and the housing latch is in the second latch position the door latch is movable along the path but is blocked by the housing latch from passing to the second range of positions.

Sliding-door latch

A reversible apparatus for a conventional pocket door has a sliding-handle mechanism and a handle cavity sized to facilitate human operation. Moving parts are contained in a cartridge, and remain assembled, independent of the configuration of the apparatus for doors that close from left to right, or doors that close from right to left.

A latch mechanism for a gate has a main support, first and second retention members, and a rotatable latch. The retention members each have a respective key aperture and the respective first and second apertures are spaced along the main support and separated by a gap. The rotatable latch includes a latch portion, one or more key portions which extend through either or both of the first key aperture and second key aperture, and is rotatable about an axis of rotation between a receiving position in which the gate is moveable between an open position and a closed position, or vice versa, and a latched position in which the gate is restrained in the closed position by the latch portion and where the one or more key portions engage with either or both of the first and second retention members to prevent withdrawal of the rotatable latch.

System for using O-rings to apply holding forces

A fastening system for attaching two components with a spring force is disclosed. The fastening system utilizes O-rings to provide the spring force, eliminating the need for any metal components. The O-ring may be disposed in an O-ring holder that has a plurality of spokes. When compressed, indentations are created in the O-ring by the spokes. The number of spokes and their size and shape determine the spring force of the fastening system. In another embodiment, vertically oriented O-rings are utilized. The fastening system may be used to fasten various components of an ion source.
