Locking mechanism
A locking mechanism comprises an S-shaped locking member which comprises respective locking hooks arranged at the end of opposed arms of the locking member. A pivot is arranged between the arms of the locking member. The locking member rotates around the axis (A) of the pivot. The locking mechanism further comprises a coupling for coupling the locking member to an actuator for rotating the locking member around the pivot axis (A). The coupling comprises at least one coupling element, an actuator coupling for coupling the at least one coupling element to the actuator and first and second drive couplings for coupling the at least one coupling element independently to each arm of the locking member for transmitting rotational movement thereto, such that failure of one arm of the locking member will not cause loss of drive to the other arm of the locking member.
Safety gate latch
Two part sleeves that fasten about existing arms of U-shaped gate latches, and bonded or slide on sleeve and cover devices, and replacement gate latches and methods for preventing injury with oar, fork and U-shaped gate latches that are pivotally attached to fixed support post next to an opening in a fence. The sleeves and covers and replacement oar, fork and U-shaped gate latches have enlarged blunt tips that can include bulbous, dome and ball shapes that prevent injury from children or adults that come into contact with the gate latches.
The coupling comprises at least one coupling element, an actuator coupling for coupling the at last one coupling element to the actuator and first and second drive couplings for coupling the at least one coupling element independently to each arm of the locking member for transmitting rotational movement thereto, such that failure of one arm of the locking member will not cause loss of drive to the other arm of the locking member.
Locally and remotely actuable vehicle door lock
A vehicle door lock having a rotary latch arrangement and a release mechanism. The rotary latch arrangement includes a lock case in which a pivoted rotary latch and a pivoted locking pawl are arranged. The release mechanism includes a first release device with a traverse tube, a cable pull mechanism with a traction element led through the traverse tube and means for actuating the cable pull mechanism, and a pivotable actuation lever that engages in the lock case and which comprises two opposite actuation lever lateral surfaces. The actuation lever is rotatably connected with the first release device to be driven about an actuation lever rotary axis, wherein the locking pawl can be actuated by rotating the actuation lever so that the locking mechanism of the rotary latch can be released.
