Toolholder matched with the internal jet cooling spindle for cryogenic coolant

A toolholder matched with the internal jet cooling spindle for cryogenic coolant is mainly composed of a hollow toolholder body, a high-performance thermal insulation structure and a bidirectional sealing structure. They can guide the cryogenic coolant from the spindle to the internal cooling channel of cutting tool and realize the cryogenic thermal insulation and dynamic sealing. The high-performance thermal insulation structure inside the toolholder employs the material with a low thermal conductivity and a low linear expansion coefficient to restrain the low temperature impact of cryogenic coolant on the toolholder and spindle, to ensure the dimensional accuracy and assembly accuracy of the toolholder. The bidirectional sealing structure in the toolholder uses the ultra-low temperature resistant seal rings to prevent the cryogenic coolant from leaking towards the spindle and the cutting tool, to ensure the stability of the coolant transport.

A quick-release arbor is adapted for a cylindrical hole saw that has a bottom wall having a threaded central aperture and opposing indexing holes. The arbor has a central hexagonal passage with opposing key slots passing therethrough and a threaded hole saw fitting axially aligned with the hexagonal passage. The arbor has a hexagonal pilot shaft securely holding a pilot drill bit and intermediate opposing keys forming a position lock. The pilot shaft is adapted to freely pass through the passage. Within the arbor is a button chamber that is transverse to the hexagonal passage with a rear wall. A biased button is located within the button chamber having upper and lower cuts outs to permit the pilot shaft to freely pass through the cut outs of the button when the button is depressed and having rear pocket to capture one of the pilot shaft opposing keys when the button is released.

CORE DRILL WITH DETACHABLE END PORTION
20170320236 · 2017-11-09 ·

The invention relates to a core drill with an end portion (3) and a drill bit portion (1-2). The end portion and the drill bit portion are joinable in a watertight fashion with a sealing element (11). The sealing element (11) is provided in a space between the end portion and the drill bit portion, such that it is being compressed in a sealing fashion when the end portion and the drill bit portion are joined. The end portion and the drill bit portion are locked together with a joining element (8, 10) which achieves this locking effect when moves in the radial direction of the core drill. When the joining element moves in this direction, the end portion and the drill bit portion move towards each other. Thus the sealing element is being compressed while concurrently the end portion and the drill bit portion are joined together. This is further achieved without the joining element having to extend in the axial direction of the core drill. Typically, the joining element (8, 10) is constituted by a set screw.

The invention relates to a tool holder with a tool holding fixture, in particular a clamping chuck such as a contracting chuck, a draw-in collect chuck, a hydraulic expanding chuck and a high-precision chuck, and a shank of a tool, in particular a rotary tool, accommodated in it, wherein the tool holder contains a means for preventing the tool from being pulled out, locking it against axial displacement. This pull-out preventing unit comprises at least one locking element and at least one locking groove, which corresponds to the said locking element, receives it and interacts with it in a positively locking manner. In this case, both the locking element and the locking groove are formed at least partly in the manner of a ball head. Preferably, the tool has the locking grooves. On account of preferably spirally arranged locking grooves along the cylindrical shank of rotary tools, the direction of pitch of which grooves corresponds to the direction of the grooves of the tool, axial locking of the tool is obtained, so that the tool cannot be axially displaced from the tool holder during operation. In addition, force-exerting elements are arranged, with the effect of making the tool lie against the pull-out preventer without play after shrink-fitting.
