Pressure bulkhead assembly support tool
A pressure bulkhead assembly support tool configured to hold a pressure bulkhead system is presented. The pressure bulkhead assembly support tool comprises a segmented frame having a substantially circular path. A plurality of circumferential force assemblies restrains the pressure bulkhead system such that a circumferential surface of the pressure bulkhead system with a nominal shape is formed. A plurality of alignment probes holds and positions the pressure bulkhead system relative to the segmented frame.

One variation of a method for fabricating a dermal heatsink includes: fabricating a substrate defining an interior surface, an exterior surface opposite the interior surface, and an open network of pores extending between the interior surface and the exterior surface; activating surfaces of the substrate and walls of the open network of pores; applying a coating over the substrate to form a heatsink, the coating comprising a porous, hydrophilic material and defining a void network; removing an excess of the coating from the substrate to clear blockages within the open network of pores by the coating; hydrating the heatsink during a curing period; heating the heatsink during the curing period to increase porosity of the coating applied over surfaces of the substrate; and rinsing the heatsink with an acid to decarbonate the coating along walls of the open network of pores in the substrate.
Erosion resistant and hydrophobic article
An erosion resistant and hydrophobic article includes a core that has a first hardness and a surface on the core. The surface includes a plurality of geometric features that have a second, greater hardness. The geometric features define a surface porosity by area percent and a corresponding surface solidity by area percent. The surface includes a ratio of the surface solidity divided by the surface porosity that is 1.8 or greater. The geometric features and the ratio establish the surface to be hydrophobic, and the second, greater hardness and the ratio establish an erosion rate of the surface that is equal to or less than an erosion rate of the core under identical erosion conditions.
Transfer printing substrate
Disclosed herein is a transfer printing technology. A transfer printing substrate includes a plurality of pillar structures and a sacrificial layer applied thereon. In situ alignment of a transfer layer is performed by the pillar structures and a structural confinement by a concave structure formed on a bottom surface of the transfer layer corresponding to the pillar structures, or a chemical bond of the pillar structure and the transfer layer. In the in situ alignment by the structural confinement, the remaining sacrificial layer after being removed may serve as an adhesive component. The transfer process is performed by a separation of the bond by the sacrificial layer, a cutting of the pillar structures in the chemic bonding state of the pillar structures and the transfer layer, or a separation of the bond between the pillar structures and the handling substrate.

A composite material with an insert-molded attachment steel is provided. The composite material includes a plurality of burring apertures, each of which has a flange in one direction on the attachment steel and is inserted between fibers. Glass ceramic substrate and portable electronic device housing using the substrate
A glass ceramic substrate includes: an inner layer part having a first thermal expansion coefficient; and a surface layer part having a second thermal expansion coefficient smaller than the first thermal expansion coefficient. The inner layer part contains a first glass matrix and flat alumina particles. The flat alumina particles are dispersed in the glass matrix in a direction in which individual thickness directions are substantially perpendicular to a surface direction of one of main surfaces of the inner layer part. Further, a mean aspect ratio of the flat alumina particles is 3 or more in one of cross sections along the thickness directions of the flat alumina particles out of cross sections of the inner layer part.
Flexible ceramic matrix composite seal
A ceramic matrix composite seal is disclosed. The ceramic matrix composite seal including a ceramic matrix and a number of ceramic fiber fabrics embedded in the ceramic matrix. The ceramic matrix composite seal is formed into a strip with a desired geometry such that the seal strip is configured to be assembled with a number of components to create a seal between the components.

The present invention relates to a meltblown nonwoven in the form of a sheet-like formation with a weight per unit area of 100 to 600 g/m.sup.2 and with a density of 5 to 50 kg/m.sup.3, wherein the meltblown nonwoven (10) has at least one spacer (12), extending at least on one of the surfaces thereof and/or at least partially in the direction of the thickness of the meltblown nonwoven (10) and arranged in such a way that the meltblown nonwoven (10) has a compressibility of less than 10% when a pressure of 50 Pa is applied to its surface.
