EROSION RESISTANT COATINGS
An erosion resistant article such as rotor blades for helicopters and wind turbines having the leading edge surface protected from damage from high speed impingement of rain or sand with a protective coating formed from specific polyurethane or polyurea coating having a defined set of minimum physical properties where the protective coating can be applied as a liquid coating and cured in place or as a preformed complementary shaped covering to protect the leading edge against erosion damage in service.
SPECTACLE LENS AND SPECTACLES
Provided is a spectacle lens having, on at least one side of a lens substrate, a polarizing layer containing a dichromic pigment, and a photochromic layer containing a photochromic pigment, and having the polarizing layer and the photochromic layer via an intermediate layer.
METHOD FOR LARGE SURFACE COATING BASE ON CONTROL OF THIN FILM STRESS AND COATING STRUCTURE USEOF
Disclosed is a thin film stress control-based coating method for large-area coating. The method uses a two-step coating process in which a first coating layer that is a relatively low-hardness layer is primarily formed on a base member and a second coating layer that is a relatively high-hardness layer is secondarily formed on the first coating layer. The method can form a high-density coating structure that is hardly peeled off over a relatively large area compared to conventional coating methods by suppressing internal stress of the coating layers of the coating structure. Further disclosed is a coating structure manufactured by the same method.
Multi-layer film with improved modulus properties
The invention relates to a multi-layer, preferably co-extruded, plastic film with improved modulus properties, which is suitable, in particular, for producing three-dimensionally shaped articles.
Composition for forming hard coating layer, preparation method of hard coating film, and hard coating film prepared using the same
Provided is a composition for forming a hard coating layer, which includes an epoxy siloxane resin, a crosslinking agent including a compound having an alicyclic epoxy group, a thermal initiator including a compound represented by a specific chemical formula, a photoinitiator, a fluorine-substituted (meth)acrylate compound, and silica nanoparticles surface-modified with a fluorine compound, and forms a hard coating layer having excellent hardness and antifouling property and suppressing curling.
HYBRID SIDE RAIL ASSEMBLIES AND MATTRESSES INCLUDING THE SAME
A side rail assembly and a mattress assembly including the side rail assembly about at least a portion of a perimeter of the mattress assembly. The side rail assembly includes a laminate structure including one or more foam layers and one or more fiber layers in a stacked arrangement. The fiber layer can be a non-woven layer.
ARTICLES WITH A LOW-ELASTIC MODULUS LAYER AND RETAINED STRENGTH
One or more aspects of the disclosure pertain to an article including a film disposed on a glass substrate, which may be strengthened, where the interface between the film and the glass substrate is modified, such that the article has an improved average flexural strength, and the film retains key functional properties for its application. Some key functional properties of the film include optical, electrical and/or mechanical properties. The bridging of a crack from one of the film or the glass substrate into the other of the film or the glass substrate can be suppressed by inserting a nanoporous crack mitigating layer between the glass substrate and the film.
PLATED STEEL SHEET HAVING EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE, GALLING RESISTANCE, WORKABILITY AND SURFACE PROPERTY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING
Provided are a plated steel sheet and a method for manufacturing same, the plated steel sheet comprising: a base steel sheet; a Zn—Mg—Al plating layer provided on at least one surface of the base steel sheet; and an Fe—Al inhibition layer provided between the base steel sheet and the Zn—Mg—Al plating layer. The plating layer comprises, by weight %, 4 to 10% of Mg and 5.1-25% of Al and the remainder being Zn and unavoidable impurities with respect to components not including iron (Fe) diffused from the base steel sheet. The plating layer comprises a 24-50% MgZn.sub.2 phase in phase fraction. In the MgZn.sub.2 phase, an Al single phase is present in the ratio of 1-30% relative to the cross-sectional area of the total MgZn.sub.2 phase.
Profile section molded by multi-injection molding and forming a seal or a molding for the body of a motor vehicle, and method for manufacturing same
The present invention relates to a profile section molded by the multi-injection molding of thermoplastic materials having different hardnesses, and forming a seal or a molding for the body of a motor vehicle, as well as to a method for manufacturing said profile section. Said profile section (10″) includes at least: an antifriction coating (13″) tightly bonded to a longitudinal sealing surface (12a″) of the profile section and intended enabling the latter to sealingly contact a mobile element of the vehicle, said sealing surface ending, substantially at a right angle at the respective ends thereof, in two transverse sealing edge surfaces of the profile section; and/or a decorative film (14″) tightly bonded to a visible longitudinal surface (11c″) of the profile section and intended for enhancing the appearance of said surface, wherein said visible longitudinal surface is separate from the sealing surface and ends, substantially at a right angle at the respective ends thereof, in two visible transverse edge surfaces of the profile section, characterized in that said materials are overmolded: (i) either on said coating(s) or on said film(s), which is/are tightly bonded, in a continuous manner, to at least one of the visible edge surfaces; (ii) or on said coating(s) and on said film(s), which are optionally tightly bonded, in a continuous manner, to at least one of the sealing edge surfaces and to at least one of the visible edge surfaces.
Erosion resistant and hydrophobic article
An erosion resistant and hydrophobic article includes a core that has a first hardness and a surface on the core. The surface includes a plurality of geometric features that have a second, greater hardness. The geometric features define a surface porosity by area percent and a corresponding surface solidity by area percent. The surface includes a ratio of the surface solidity divided by the surface porosity that is 1.8 or greater. The geometric features and the ratio establish the surface to be hydrophobic, and the second, greater hardness and the ratio establish an erosion rate of the surface that is equal to or less than an erosion rate of the core under identical erosion conditions.
