Boat lift drive housing apparatus

A boat lift drive housing for containing a control box, electric motor and gear head for raising and lowering a boat lift. The housing includes front and rear coaxial openings for access to the gear head. The housing further includes an eyebrow cantilevered over an opening in the housing through which a key switch extends such that the key switch is protected from the sun, rain, snow and ice. The housing further includes a pair of bottom openings, with one bottom housing permitting access to a drive shaft of the electric motor and with the other bottom opening holding a tool for driving the drive shaft of the electric motor. The housing further includes a shape tailored to the control box, electric motor and gear head to minimize extra connections within the housing.

A handle unit having a handle element for opening and/or closing a lock provided on a moving part includes a lock cylinder, which is protected by a covering cap, and an attachment element, on which the covering cap is releasably disposed. The covering cap has at least one guide projection on the interior thereof, which bears on a guide surface when in the snap-in position, which is formed on the attachment element and is complementary to the guide projection. The attachment element forcibly guides the movement of the covering cap when the covering cap is released, such that the at least one guide projection moves along the complementary guide surface, away from the attachment element.

A lock includes a housing and a pivot is located in the insertion hole of the housing and has the first end thereof connected with a slide. A spring is received in the insertion hole, biases the second end of the pivot. When the slide is positioned at a close position, the slide is applied by the resilient force of the spring as to cover the installation recess so as to prevent dust and water from entering the core. When the slide is positioned at an open position, the slide is applied by a force to overcome the resilient force of the spring, and at least one portion of the slide does not cover the installation recess for convenience of unlocking the lock or replacement of the core. The housing includes a positioning member which positions the cover at open and close positions of the slide.

A lock includes a housing having an insertion hole in which a pivot is inserted. A slide is connected to one end of the pivot. A spring is located in the insertion hole and applies a first resilient force toward the insertion hole, and a second resilient force toward a direction that the slide pivots. When the slide is located at a first position, the installation recess is covered by the slide to prevent water and dust from entering into the installation recess. When the slide located at a second position, at least one portion of the slide does not cover the installation recess to allow the lock to be unlocked. When the slide located at a third position, the slide is located higher than the first end face of the protrusion and is pivotable so that the installation recess is explored for convenience of replacement of the core.
