Methods of processing a glass ribbon
Methods of processing a glass ribbon are provided. The method includes the step of traversing the glass ribbon through a travel path at a predetermined velocity and severing the glass ribbon to create an upstream web and a downstream web. The method further includes the step of increasing a relative velocity of a downstream edge portion with respect to an upstream edge portion to create a gap between an upstream severed edge and a downstream severed edge. In other example methods, a segment of the glass ribbon is removed to create a gap between an upstream severed edge and a downstream severed edge. In still further example methods, an upstream severed edge is directed along a second travel path to create a gap between the upstream severed edge and a downstream severed edge.
Integrated lamellae extraction station
An integrated station for extracting specimens suitable for viewing by a transmission electron microscope from a patterned semiconductor wafer, including a wafer cassette holder; a wafer transfer device; a nanomachining device, including a scanning electron microscope and a focused ion beam, a vacuum load lock and an operator control device, and wherein the operator control device notes locations of created lamellae; a plucker device; a control computer, adapted to control the wafer transfer device and the plucker device, commanding the plucker device to remover lamellae at the locations noted by the operator control device; and a user monitor and data input device, communicatively coupled to the computer. The wafer transfer device can transfer wafers from the wafer cassette holder to the vacuum load lock; from the vacuum load lock to the plucker device and from the plucker device to the wafer cassette holder.
Device for stripping a cable
A device for simultaneously stripping at least two cable ends surrounded by insulation material includes a cutting device having first and second cutters that are movable relative to each other in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the cable ends. The cutting edges of the first and second cutters are disposed substantially in the same plane and are movable towards each other such that the cutting edges simultaneously cut into the insulation material of the at least two cable ends. In addition, the cutting device and the cable ends are movable relative to each other in the longitudinal direction of the cable ends to simultaneously pull-off the cut insulation material from the at least two cable ends and thereby strip the at least two cable ends.
Conduit space recovery system
Space in a conduit having at least one cable therein which is surrounded by a duct is recovered by longitudinally cutting the duct and removing the duct from around the cable. The duct may be pulled out of the conduit and past a blade to affect the cutting, or a blade may be pulled through the conduit to cut the duct while still in the conduit.
Partitioned food package
A container for food includes an enclosure, a lid, and partition members. The enclosure includes an interior with a base portion and a perimeter portion. The perimeter portion includes one or more walls that extend between the base portion and an opening of the enclosure. The partition members separate food layers from each other. A base partition member separates a bottom food layer from the base portion of the interior. An opening partition member may separate the lid from a top food layer. The partition members include a separating portion with a perimeter that substantially locally matches a cross-sectional shape of the perimeter portion of the interior. The partition members each further include at least one pulling structure that extends from the separating portion to a grip. The grip may be positioned outside of the interior of the enclosure, at least when the container is in the storage configuration.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUSLY PROCESSING CONDUCTOR CABLE FOR DISPOSAL OR RECYCLING
The disclosure relates to an apparatus for continuous processing of a cable-to-be-recycled simultaneously with being pulled from a pull zone during reconductoring or restringing so as to avoid storing the cable-to-be-recycled on a reel, wherein said cable-to-be-recycled has a cable length equal to a length of the pull zone, wherein the cable-to-be-recycled has aluminum strands surrounding a core, and wherein the cable-to-be-recycled is pulled during a pull from the pull zone by a first puller, the apparatus including: a strand cutter adapted to be used in proximity to the puller and adapted to continuously receive the cable-to-be-recycled and to cut through the aluminum strands of the cable-to-be-recycled, while in proximity to the puller, so as to remove segments of the aluminum strands from the core of the cable-to-be-recycled, for recycling of the segments of the aluminum strands, while leaving the core intact as the cable-to-be-recycled passes through the strand cutter during the pull from the pull zone of the cable-to-be-recycled.
Scrap scraper
Scrap Scraper technology is an improved Scrap Separation means for separating Loose Scrap from Boxes within a Layboy with minimal, if any, increase in possible Flap bending. A Distinct Intersection Of Action avoids problems inherent in other prior art. A shallow Scraper Funnel while maintaining a steep Scraper Angle Of Action allows effective Scrap Scraping while avoiding Flap bending. The Flexible Scraper results in Active Scrap Ejection of the Loose Scrap from the upper side of the Box down below the Board Line. Means providing the Scrap Scraper Variable Board Line Penetration and Variable Scraper Stiffness allow effective Scrap removal over a wide range of Boxes. Positioning the Scrap Scraper over a Scrap Exit Opening allows the removed Scrap to exit the Board Line area. Scrap shingling provides for subsequent boxes to push down scrap from a current box.
Foam-in-bag device with bag-status indicator
Disclosed herein is a foam-in-bag dispensing system, including a dispensing apparatus operative to dispense foam precursor, the foam precursor being configured for expanding and solidifying into a polymeric foam, to a dispensing location between first and second web plies extending respectively on first and second sides of the dispensing apparatus; and a bag-status indicator associated for providing an indication to the operator indicative of the readiness of the bag for removal from the device for avoiding premature bag removal.
Method of using efficient die cutting pattern for footwear manufacture
A cutting die for cutting a plurality of parts of an article of footwear from a bulk material. The cutting die includes a first cutting member that cuts a first part of the article of footwear from the bulk material. The cutting die also includes a second cutting member that cuts a second part of the article of footwear from the bulk material. The second cutting member is fixed to the first cutting member to cut the first and second parts together with a single stroke of the cutting die relative to the bulk material. The first and second parts are separate and distinct from each other and have different shapes.
Method and apparatus for continuously processing conductor cable for disposal or recycling
A continuous processing system and method for the continuous processing of an electrical conductor cable having aluminum strands encasing a steel core directly from a puller or from a puller and reel, simultaneously or on-the-fly during substantially the entirety of a reconductoring or re-stringing of the cable, wherein such cables are used for power lines or for static wires. The system is adapted to cooperate with a pulling machine. The pulling machine may be formed integrally within the system or may be a conventional pulling machine which cooperates with the system. The processing system runs continuously, substantially without interruption, during the pull of all of the cable from the pull zone of the reconductoring or restringing.
