Mobile platform and oscillating mechanism for coating flat surfaces
The present invention refers to a working assembly for a painting system, containing a mobile platform and a crank and slider-type oscillating mechanism, which reproduces movements transmitted to a shaft and that guides a paint gun, mimicking the process performed by painters. Thus, the mobile platform and the oscillating mechanism were designed to move unidirectionally over the surface, being able to move in two orthogonal directions and also to rotate in order to keep the platform level.
POTENTIAL MEASURING DEVICE AND METHOD
A portable unit is arranged to measure a value for polarized potential in a corrosion protection system comprising a protected structure, an anode and a reference electrode, which portable unit is connectable to the protected structure and to the reference electrode. The portable unit is arranged toperform voltage measurements to detect and monitor an instant-off sequence, wherein the corrosion protection system is turned off for a predetermined time period during normal operation. If an instant-off sequence is detected, then a voltage measurement is performed to measure a voltage signal representing a direct current potential curve for the corrosion protection system during the instant-off sequence. A step response detected in the voltage signal during an initial IR drop and a subsequent voltage decay are analysed. An initial value for the voltage signal at the time of the step response is determined and displayed as a value for polarized potential.
Underwater ship hull cleaning tool test device
Exemplary inventive practice replicatively tests the effects of cleaning processes applied to marine hulls coated with biofouling-control substances. A sample (e.g., antifouling-coated panel) is coupled with a trolley that is linearly moveable via trolley wheels upon two parallel tracks provided along the length of an open rectangular box-shaped tank, partially filled with natural or artificial seawater. The cleaning element (e.g., brush bristles) points vertically upward in a stationary position atop a motorized cleaning unit installed proximate the bottom of the tank. In accordance with the trolley's horizontal movement, and while the sample and cleaning element are immersed in seawater, the sample traverses the cleaning element in a contactual manner that mimics underwater cleaning dynamics for a hull surface. Using sensory data, seawater portions are evaluated to relate the cleaning instrumentation and operation to the nature and degree of biocides and chemicals that, concomitant the cleaning, are released into the seawater.

Apparatus for safely connecting a boat to another boat or object
An apparatus that is configured to connect a first boat to second boat or to an object, such as a dock, in a manner that prevents the surface of the first boat from contacting the surface of the second boat or the object. The apparatus comprises a connecting assembly having a first engaging mechanism at its first end and a second engaging mechanism at its second end. The connecting assembly comprises a pair of connecting members that are telescopically configured and a length adjusting mechanism that adjusts the length of the connecting assembly and the spacing provided by the apparatus. The length adjusting mechanism can include a locking mechanism that locks the connecting members or a biasing mechanism that biases the two members apart. The engaging members can be suction cups that have cup locking mechanisms that allow the user to lock the suction cups to a surface.
PROTECTIVE COVER FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE
One example provides a protective cover for an electric vehicle. The protective cover includes a main body to selectively fit over a body portion of the electric vehicle, including over a charging port of the electric vehicle, and includes an opening extending through the main body, the opening located so as to be proximate to the charging port when the protective cover is installed on the electric vehicle, the opening to receive and enable a charging gun to be disposed at least partially within the protective cover and be inserted into the charging port to thereby enable charging of the electric vehicle without removal of the protective cover.

Vertically rotating grooming attachment brush and method of use
A rotating grooming brush comprising a brush hub having grooming elements and shroud elements, and method for grooming a surface having an unwanted material thereon. The elements extend from the brush hub and may be positioned near its outer periphery. The elements may be grooming elements forming an array and shroud elements forming a shroud array. A rigid or elastomeric shroud extending from the brush hub surface may optionally be included about the edge of the brush hub, to the outside of the grooming elements. Rotation of the grooming attachment brush causes a low pressure region to build in the central area of the brush. This low pressure region creates a resulting force that forcefully attracts the grooming attachment brush to the surface to be groomed. The resulting force is controlled by the diameter of the brush hub, arrangement, of the elements and the speed of rotation.
