The magnetic sensor can prevent an increase of a positional detection error of a subject/object even in the case of applying an external magnetic field with a magnetic field intensity exceeding a predetermined range. A magnetic sensor is equipped with a magnetoresistive effect element (MR element) 11 that can detect an external magnetic field and a soft magnetic body shield 12. The soft magnetic body shield(s) 12 are/is positioned above and/or below the MR element 11 in a side view, and the size of the MR element 11 is physically included within a perimeter of the soft magnetic body shield 12.

Magnetic core element, magnetic core module and an inductive component using the magnetic core module

A rod-shaped magnetic core element, having a first end with a spherical or cylindrical recess or a spherical or cylindrical connecting protrusion, and a second end with a spherical or cylindrical recess or a spherical or cylindrical connecting protrusion so that a bent connection of at least two magnetic core elements is variably adjustable. Magnetic core elements comprising spherical or cylindrical magnetic core ends of this type allow a nearly gap-free construction with little magnetic leakage due to slightly larger end surfaces in comparison with ferrite rods having beveled plane end section surfaces. The enlarged end surface of the spherical surface advantageously allows a more stable connection of individual magnetic core elements without adhesive bonding. This allows the construction of flexible, multiple-member and inexpensive rod core coils and antennae.

A sensor may include a core and a coil. The core may include a rectangular substrate, a layer of magnetically-permeable material disposed on the substrate, and an adhesive rigidly coupling two ends of the substrate so as to form a tube with the rectangular substrate. The coil may be wound on the tube. The core may further include a layer of radiopaque material. The core may further include a flex pad for electrically coupling the coil with an external system.

Coil unit and electric vehicle

A coil unit for an electric vehicle for the inductive transfer of electrical energy between the coil unit and a stationary charging station. The coil unit includes at least one coil and a flux guide unit for guiding a magnetic flux occurring during operation of the coil. Also disclosed is an electric vehicle having a coil unit for the inductive transfer of electrical energy between a secondary coil of the coil unit and a primary coil of a charging station. Electromagnetic rifle with compact armature

An EM driver for accelerating an object may be configured as an EM rifle for accelerating, rotating to spin-stabilize, and releasing a projectile. A core includes a stator coil, forward and reverse coils, a railed shaft, and a transfer shaft. The stator coil generates a first EM field, and the forward and reverse coils generate second and third EM fields which interact with the first EM field to accelerate the armature in forward and reverse directions, respectively. The railed shaft is elongated along a central axis through the armature and includes multiple rails arranged helically around a central shaft. The armature remains in contact with the rails during acceleration so as to impart a turning motion. The transfer shaft is physically coupled with and projects forwardly from the armature and transfers to the projectile the acceleration and the turning motion of the armature in the forward direction.

VECTOR MAGNETIC CHARACTERISTIC CONTROLLED MATERIAL AND IRON CORE (AS AMENDED)

A vector-magnetic-property-controlling material according to the present embodiment is subjected to a scratching process in two directions that intersect on the surface of a steel material. An iron core according to the present embodiment is configured from an oriented magnetic steel material which has been subjected to a scratching process in two directions that intersect on the surface thereof.

Allotrope-specific anionic element reagent complexes

An allotrope-specific reagent includes a hydride molecule in complex with a specified elemental allotrope. The elemental allotrope included in the complex substantially retains a specified allotropic structure of the bulk element. For example, the reagent can contain a specified allotrope of carbon, such as amorphous carbon, diamond, or graphite. The allotrope-specific reagent can be useful for the synthesis of allotropic nanoparticles. A method for synthesizing the allotrope-specific reagent includes a step of ball-milling a mixture that includes a bulk hydride molecule, such as lithium borohydride powder, and a powder of a specified elemental allotrope.
