MAGNETIC EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX
Methods of making and using a magnetic ECM are disclosed. The ECM comprises positively and negatively charged nanoparticles, wherein one of said nanoparticles contains a magnetically responsive element. When the magnetic ECM is seeded with cells, the cells will be magnetized and can be levitated for 3-D cell culture.
CELL CONSTRUCT COMPRISING SCHWANN CELLS OR SCHWANN CELL-LIKE CELLS AND A BIOCOMPATIBLE MATRIX
A method for producing a cell construct including, contacting Schwann cells or Schwann cell-like cells with a biocompatible matrix, and subjecting to cultivation, where the cultivation is at least partially performed by administering mechanical stimulation on the cells in contact with the biocompatible matrix. A cell construct obtained by the method.
Method for sterilising a platelet lysate
A method for sterilising a platelet lysate in the liquid state comprising at least the endogenous growth factors TGF-beta 1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1, VEGF and bFGF. The method comprising freezing the liquid platelet lysate in order to obtain a frozen platelet lysate, and irradiating the frozen platelet lysate with ionising radiation in order to obtain a sterilised platelet lysate, the irradiation being adapted so as to preserve at least 80% of the concentration of at least one of the endogenous growth factors chosen from the group consisting of TGF-beta 1, EGF, PDGF-AB, IGF-1 and VEGF.
HDAC6-ACTIVATED MACROPHAGES, COMPOSITIONS, AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure provides histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6)-activated macrophages, compositions comprising HDAC6-activated macrophages, methods of making HDAC6-activated macrophages, and methods of treating diseases, e.g., cancer, by administering a therapeutically effective amount of HDAC6-activated macrophages.
Adaptive electrode arrangement and method
A well for electrically stimulating at least one cell. The well includes a bottom portion and comprises an adaptive electrode arrangement for introducing an electric field into the well. The adaptive electrode arrangement includes a pair of electrodes disposed within the well. Each electrode of the pair of electrodes has a distal end and is independently and axially displaceable relative to the other electrode and the bottom portion of the well. The distal end of each electrode of the pair of electrodes is in contact with the bottom portion of the well, ensuring a uniform and constant electric field is applied within the well.
SYSTEM FOR PRODUCITON OF HIGH YIELD OF RECOMBINANT PROTEINS
The presently disclosure relates to a system and method for bioelectronic communications. In certain embodiments the system comprises a bacterial cell or cells that comprise a genetic system for high-efficiency over-expression and secretion of recombinant proteins in bacteria. In certain embodiments, the system and method operate in a “pump-then-burst release” fashion to rapidly achieve high yields extracellularly. In certain embodiments, the system and method include quorum sensing-derived regulation, which may enable auto-induction of a protein's expression and secretion.
USE OF EARLY APOPTOTIC CELLS FOR TREATING COVID-19
Compositions disclosed herein, and methods of use thereof included those for treating or preventing SARS-CoV-2 vims infection in a subject in need, including methods of extending of the survival of a subject suffering from COVID-19, and reduction of organ dysfunction or failure due to COVID-19 or associated symptoms. Methods of treating or preventing COVID-19 in a subject in need includes administering compositions comprising early apoptotic cells or early apoptotic cell supernatants. Compositions and methods of use thereof may reduce the negative proinflammatory effect accompanying COVID-19 and symptoms thereof. Further, anti-inflammatory cytokine release may be increased. In certain instances, compositions may include additional agents.
METHOD FOR ADJUSTING AN APPARATUS FOR THE TREATMENT USING NUCLEAR SPIN RESONANCES
The invention relates to a method for adjusting an apparatus for treatment using nuclear magnetic resonances. The chronotype of the user is determined. The apparatus is adjusted on the basis of this determination.
Differentiation of Olfactory Mucosa Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells to Schwann Cells for Peripheral Nerve Repair
Provided herein are, in various embodiments, methods and compositions for differentiating olfactory mucosa-derived mesenchymal stem cells (OM-MSC). In certain embodiments, the disclosure provides for media to differentiate OM-MSCs. In still further embodiments, the disclosure provides for methods and compositions using differentiated OM-MSCs for the treatment of nerve repair. In particular embodiments, the disclosure provides for novel treatments of peripheral nerve repair.
METHODS AND ASSAYS WITH POPULATIONS OF CELLS
This disclosure relates to methods for enriching a first population of cells positive for a target moiety and/or a second population of cells positive for the target moiety from a sample, wherein a level of the target moiety among the first population of cells is relatively lower than the level of the target moiety among the second population of cells. The methods of this disclosure may also be adapted to assays for determining distinct populations of cells positive for a target moiety in a sample, and to assays for optimizing enrichment conditions. Last, this disclosure relates to kits of components that may be used to carry out the methods and assays.
