HEMOSTASIS APPARATUS AND METHOD
The apparatus and method for hemostasis that informs the provider as to whether the appropriate magnitude of pressure is being applied to a puncture site on a patient. A visual pulse indicator can visually convey whether or not there is proper blood flow at the puncture site based on the pulsing motion encountered by the visual pulse indicator on the puncture site. The visual pulse indicator can potentially factor in a variety of different input parameters in displaying information that is useful to providers.
Systems for Sacroiliac Joint Stabilization
Systems are described for conducting minimally invasive medical interventions utilizing instruments and assemblies thereof to stabilize and/or fixate a dysfunctional sacroiliac (SI) joint. The systems include a drill guide having a bone dislodging member adapted to create a pilot SI joint opening in the dysfunctional SI joint through an incision comprising a length no greater than 3.0 cm; portions of the pilot SI joint opening being disposed in the sacrum and ilium bone structures. The drill guide includes a tri-mode fixation system adapted to position and stabilize the drill guide during creation of the pilot SI joint opening in the dysfunctional SI joint and delivery of the SI joint prosthesis therein. The systems also include a SI joint prosthesis configured to be inserted into the pilot SI joint opening of the dysfunctional SI joint, a prosthesis deployment assembly configured to engage the SI joint prosthesis and advance the SI joint prosthesis into the dysfunctional SI joint, and a bone harvesting assembly adapted to extract and collect dislodge bone material from the bone dislodging member after creation of the pilot SI joint opening.
TISSUE EXPANSION DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A device for expanding tissue comprises at least one fluid delivery tube and at least one fluid delivery element in fluid communication with the at least one fluid delivery tube. The at least one fluid delivery tube comprises a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen therebetween. The device is constructed and arranged to perform a near full circumferential expansion of luminal wall tissue. Systems and methods are also provided, including a system for expanding tissue layers and treating tissue proximate to the expanded tissue layers.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF CARDIAC CONDUCTION ABNORMALITIES
Disclosed apparatuses and methods apply electric fields deep in a body by selectively actuating multiple magnetic modules about the body sequentially in time. The electric field induced in regions of the body from such actuations may have a different frequency, depending on the depth of the region.
HIP ARTHROPLASTY DYNAMIC OPTIMIZATION SYSTEM
Various embodiments disclosed relate to a method for producing an implant model and associated systems. The method can include receiving patient specific data, producing a preliminary implant model based on the received patient specific data, running a simulation on the preliminary implant model to produce a revised implant model with a range of motion zone using the patient specific kinematics, optimizing the preliminary implant model with a dynamic simulation to determine a cup anteversion angle, analyzing the revised implant model for spino-pelvic risk, and outputting the implant model.
Spectral sensing of ablation
A method for tissue assessment includes ablating tissue at a site within a body of a living subject using an invasive probe applied to the site. At a first stage in ablation of the tissue, first measurements are made of scattered light intensities from the site at a plurality of different wavelengths. At a second stage in the ablation of the tissue, subsequent to the first stage, second measurements are made of the scattered light intensities from the site at the plurality of different wavelengths. Progress of the ablation is assessed by computing different, respective measures of change in the scattered light intensities at the different wavelengths occurring between the first and second measurements, and comparing the respective measures.
Surgical visualization feedback system
A surgical visualization feedback system is disclosed. The surgical visualization feedback system comprises an emitter assembly configured to emit electromagnetic radiation toward an anatomical structure. The emitter assembly comprises a structured light emitter configured to emit a structured light pattern on a surface of the anatomical structure and a spectral light emitter configured to emit spectral light capable of penetrating the anatomical structure. The surgical visualization feedback system further comprises a waveform sensor assembly configured to detect reflected electromagnetic radiation corresponding to the emitted electromagnetic radiation and a control circuit in signal communication with the waveform sensor assembly. The control circuit is configured to receive an input corresponding to a selected surgical procedure, determine an identity of a targeted structure within the anatomical structure based on the selected surgical procedure and the reflected electromagnetic radiation, and confirm the determined identity of the targeted structure through a user input.
Apparatus and methods of transcranial stimulation to adjust sensory cortical dendritic spine neck membrane potentials for altering consciousness
A method facilitates altering consciousness by transcranial stimulation to adjust the membrane potential duration of sensory cortex dendritic spine necks. Sensory cortex spine neck membranes are conscious. The method comprises the steps of placing electrodes on or near a scalp; applying electric fields to spine neck membranes in sensory cortex; adjusting stimulation parameters; and altering consciousness for a predetermined duration.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANALYSIS OF TEMPERATURE SIGNALS FROM AN ABREU BRAIN THERMAL TUNNEL AND TREATMENT OF HUMAN CONDITIONS VIA THE ABREU BRAIN THERMAL TUNNEL
Systems configured to acquire temperature signals from an Abreu Brain Thermal Tunnel (ABTT), to analyze the temperatures signals, and to determine a condition of a human body from the analysis, and a method for doing the same, are described. In addition, systems for application of thermal signals to the ABTT for treatment of conditions are described.
Methods and Systems for Controlling Cooperative Surgical Instruments with Variable Surgical Site Access Trajectories
Systems, devices, and methods for controlling cooperative surgical instruments with variable surgical site access trajectories are provided. Various aspects of the present disclosure provide for coordinated operation of surgical instruments accessing a common surgical site from different approach and/or separate body cavities to achieve a common surgical purpose. For example, various methods, devices, and systems disclosed herein can enable the coordinated treatment of tissue by disparate minimally invasive surgical systems that approach the tissue from varying anatomical spaces and must operate differently, but in concert with one another, to effect a desired surgical treatment.
