INTRODUCER SHEATH
A medical device may include an introducer sheath, having a distal and a proximal end and a lumen extending from the distal end to the proximal end. The introducer sheath may also include a tab formed at the distal end and extending distal to the lumen, and a frangible portion extending between the distal end and the proximal end.
ABDOMINAL HEMORRHAGE CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD
A hemorrhage control device includes a trocar having an opening at a distal end. An expandable balloon is disposed within the trocar, the expandable balloon being collapsed within the trocar in a stored condition, and the expandable balloon being movable out of the trocar, through the opening, into a deployed condition. An inflation tube is fluidly connected to an interior of the expandable balloon. A source of pressurized fluid is connected to the inflation tube, pressurized fluid being introduced into the inflation tube to pressurize and inflate the expandable balloon in the deployed condition.
IRRIGATION CATHETER WITH OPTIONAL ENTERAL FEEDING FUNCTIONALITY OR STOMACH-IN FLUID ASPIRATION FUNCTIONALITY
A gastrointestinal catheter for insertion into a treatment site in a patient, the treatment site including at least one of a first treatment site and a second treatment site, where the catheter includes at least one of a first and a second treatment member; the proximal portions of the first and second treatment members may be detachably or slidably conjoinable side by side; the distal portions of the first and second treatment members are separate from each other. The distal end of the first treatment member is configured for insertion into the first treatment site; the second treatment member is configured to be placed at a second treatment site. The distal end region of the first treatment member has an anchoring configuration adapted to anchor the distal end region within the first treatment site, the distal end region is further capable of elastically assuming a linear constrained configuration.
Replaceable inner tube
In some embodiments a PEG feeding device includes a tube sized to bridge a channel between a stomach and an outer abdominal surface; an internal bolster, and an external bolster. Optionally the bolsters are connected to the tube. The internal bolster may be sized to resist movement out of the stomach through the stoma. The external bolster may be sized to resist movement into the stoma from the outer abdominal surface. The external bolster may include an underside which extends from the tube in a radial direction between the external bolster and the outer abdominal surface. The underside of the outer bolster may contact the outer abdominal surface at a distance from an external opening of the stoma. Optionally the distance between the internal bolster and the external bolster is adjustable. Optionally an angle between one or both of the bolsters and the tube is adjustable.
CATHETER AND METHOD OF INSERTION
A balloon catheter system includes a tube and a dilator detachable from the tube after the tube is inserted into a cavity in the patient. The cavity may be filled with gas or liquid to expand the viscera surrounding the cavity and the guidewire may be inserted using a trochar, for example. The tube includes one or more lumen to expandable balloons that are inflatable by fluid inserted through the lumen and into the balloon or balloons, which are formed by elastic film sealed on opposite ends to the external diameter of the tube. The dilator is held in place during insertion, such as by a stainless steel shaft and a sheath portion of the dilator extending over the end of the tube being inserted into the cavity. A portion of the sheath may extend over and protect the balloon. A retractor net may be used to capture and remove the dilator or the dilator may be designed as a bioabsorbable or digestible material or of a material that passes safely through the digestive tract of a patient.
U Guide for Scalpel Tip
A scalpel guide configured to be coupled with a scalpel blade. The scalpel guide engages a guidewire during use to constrain lateral displacement of the scalpel blade with respect to the guidewire. The scalpel guide includes laterally extending walls between which the guidewire is placed during use. The guide may be attached to the scalpel blade or formed integral to the scalpel blade.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ABSCESS DRAINAGE
The present disclosure is directed to methods and devices for fluid drainage from an abscess of a patient.
REMOVABLE MEDICAL RETRACTOR TIP
The exemplary embodiments illustrated provide the discovery of systems, methods, and apparatuses of removable tips for use with medical retractors in laparoscopic surgery that provide many benefits, including but not limited to, improving the efficiency and navigation to the target anatomy while maintaining adequate exposure to the target anatomy.
ENDOVASCULAR DEVICES AND METHODS FOR EXPLOITING INTRAMURAL SPACE
Devices and methods for the treatment of chronic total occlusions are provided. One disclosed embodiment comprises a method of facilitating treatment via a vascular wall defining a vascular lumen containing an occlusion therein. The method includes inserting an intramural crossing device into the vascular lumen, positioning at least the distal tip of the crossing device in the vascular wall, advancing an orienting device over the crossing device such that an orienting element of the orienting device resides in the vascular wall, inserting a reentry device, and re-entering the true vascular lumen.
PUNCTURE NEEDLE ASSEMBLY AND PUNCTURE SYSTEM
A puncture needle assembly (1000) and a puncture system (100) are provided. The puncture needle assembly (1000) includes a needle holder (1100) and a needle (1200). The needle holder (1100) comprises a channel axially extending therethrough. The channel has a sidewall, at least a part of which is provided by a conductor (1110). The needle (1200) has a proximal end portion extending in the channel and electrically connected to the conductor (1110). The puncture system (100) includes the puncture needle assembly (1000) and a dilator (2000). The dilator (2000) includes a dilation catheter (2100) and an optional conductive biasing member (2200) disposed on the dilation catheter (2100). Even when a distal end of the needle (1200) is hidden in the dilation catheter (2100), the conductive biasing member (2200) can still establish an electrical connection between the needle and the blood outside thereof. The puncture needle assembly (1000) and the puncture system (100) have the advantages of ease of use and high reliability.
