2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene compositions having improved miscibility
The use of an alcoholic compound to improve the miscibility of ammonia with 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, as well as to compositions of ammonia, 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and an alcoholic compound, and the use thereof, in particular in heat-transfer applications. A composition including 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene, ammonia and an alcoholic compound having a melting point less than or equal to 0 C.
Polymeric solutions, methods of manufacture thereof and articles manufactured therefrom
Disclosed herein is a composition comprising a polymer; and a superheated fluid; where at least a portion of the polymer and the superheated fluid co-exist in a single phase. Disclosed herein is a method comprising exposing a polymer to a superheated fluid; swelling at least a portion of the polymer with the superheated fluid so that the polymer and the superheated fluid co-exist in a single phase; and changing pressure or temperature within the single phase to change a property in the polymer.
Composition of and nozzle for spraying a single-component polyurethane foam
A composition for a single-component polyurethane foam and a nozzle for spraying the same. The composition comprising a polyurethane pre-polymer dissolved in liquid hydrocarbons, wherein the polyurethane pre-polymer further comprises polyethers or polyesters, wherein at least one of the polyethers or polyesters is a diol with an average functionality =2, a hydroxyl value within 35-180 mg KOH/g, and with an acid value not exceeding 0.2 mg KOH/g. The single-component polyurethane foam composition being sprayable onto a surface at a rate of 6 to 10 grams/second from the nozzle of the present invention wherein a coating depth of up to 30-55 mm is obtained over a 1 m.sup.2 surface after one minute of product application. The nozzle of the present invention comprising design features to produce a cone-shaped spray pattern of the foamable product.
COMPOSITION BASED ON POLYACTIC ACID
The present invention relates to a composition based on polylactic acid, comprising polylactic acid or a compound derived therefrom, and one or more additives, wherein polymethylmethacrylate is used as at least one additive. The amount of poly-methylmethacrylate is preferably at least 5 wt %, based on the total amount of polylactic acid or a compound derived therefrom, based on weight, in the final composition.
PHOTOACTIVATABLE MULTI-COMPONENT SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING A FOAMED SILICONE COMPOSITION
The use of a multicomponent system comprising a) a polyorganosiloxane b) a polyhydrogenorganosiloxane c) a photoactivatable catalyst d) a blowing agent where the polyhydrogenorganosiloxane b) is assigned to a first component I), and the photoactivatable catalyst c) is assigned to a second component II), which are spatially separate from one another, for producing a seal attached by foaming to a component in situ, where a reaction mixture resulting through mixing of the components of the multicomponent system is irradiated with light, the blowing agent d) is a compound having at least one hydroxyl group or is a mixture of compounds having hydroxyl groups, and preferably is water, an alcohol or mixtures thereof.
Insulated wire and rotating electrical machine
An insulated wire, having at least one foamed insulating layer composed of a thermosetting resin having bubbles, directly or indirectly on an outer periphery of a conductor, wherein the foamed insulating layer has a different bubble density in a thickness direction thereof; and a rotating electrical machine.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR CONTACTING LIVING TISSUE
The present invention provides materials and methods for forming an interface between an appliance and living tissue using a foamed elastomeric material which contacts the tissue or similar surfaces. The elastomeric material is in the form of a durable and washable material that when applied to living tissue or similar surfaces displaces and flows in to non-conforming areas creating an air and/or water tight seal that substantially returns to an original shape when removed from the contact surface. The appliance may also include structural elements designed to optimize comfort, compliance and seal achieved through minimizing the pressure variation along the contact surface of the therapy device.
