A radiation-curable ink jet composition that is a white ink containing a white coloring material or a pale or clear ink containing 1.2% by mass or less of a coloring material contains at least one polymerizable compound including at least one of a monofunctional monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic structure and a monomer having a hydroxy group. In the composition, the thioxanthone-based photopolymerization initiator content is limited to 0.3% or less relative to the total mass of the radiation-curable ink jet composition.

SURFACE-TREATED METALLIC MATERIAL WITH EASY CONTROL OF GLOSSINESS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
Provided is a surface-treated metallic material with easy control of glossiness and a manufacturing method therefor, the surface-treated metallic material comprising: a metallic material; and a coating layer which is formed on at least one side of the metallic material and on which an ultraviolet curable coating composition is cured, wherein the coating layer consists of a plurality of protrusions, which have a volume of 3 to 16 pico liters and are arranged at a density of 5 to 610 per 1 mm.sup.2 of the metallic material. As such, the surface-treated steel sheet is excellent in adhesion, scratch resistance and corrosion resistance, and has easy control of glossiness.

A curable composition can comprise a polymerizable compound and a dual-functional photoinitiator, wherein the dual-functional photoinitiator includes a photo-active group and at least one functional group capable of forming a covalent bond with the polymerizable compound during curing of the curable composition. The curable composition can have a viscosity of not greater than 10 mP.Math.s at a temperature of 23 C. and an increased glass transition temperature after curing in comparison to a corresponding curable composition including a mono-functional photoinitiator.

A photoinitiated polymerizable composition for 3D printing, the polymerizable composition comprising a nanogel component that comprises nanogel particles, wherein the nanogel particles comprise a copolymer with polymerizable reactive groups suitable for reacting with each other or a reactive diluent monomer, a reactive oligomer, a resin, or a combination thereof that is present in the polymerizable composition upon photoinitiation, wherein the nanogel component has a glass transition temperature that is in a range of about 50 C and about 20 C and an average molecular weight that is in a range of about 10 kg/mol and about 100 kg/mol, and wherein the nanoparticles have an average hydrodynamic radius that is in a range of 1 nm to about 5 nm.
