Rotating diverter head with remote controlled clamping system
A rotating control device is disclosed for the use of oil, gas or geothermal wells. While providing for sealing with or without rotation of the drill pipe, the device consists of a housing with guide rails attached beneath the two part dual actuated clamp that can be locked in place by remote controlled retention pins. The design has a novel adapter design enabling a common RCD bearing assembly to be installed in a variety of different housing sizes.
MPD-CAPABLE FLOW SPOOLS
This disclosure includes flow spool riser segment assemblies that are suitable for managed pressure drilling (MPD) and that can be lowered (e.g., when connected to other riser segment assemblies) through a rotary of a drilling rig. Some embodiments are configured to have portions of the flow spool connected (e.g., without welding) below the rotary.
ROTATING CONTROL DEVICE FOR JACKUP RIGS
A rotating control device includes a bowl housing with an inner aperture to receive a seal and bearing assembly. A plurality of hydraulically-actuated fail-last-position latching assemblies are disposed about an outer surface of the bowl housing to controllably extend a plurality of piston-driven dogs radially into a groove of the seal and bearing assembly. The seal and bearing assembly includes a housing, a mandrel disposed within an inner aperture of the housing, a first interference-fit sealing element attached to a bottom distal end of the mandrel, a plurality of tapered-thrust bearings indirectly mounted to the housing, a preload spacer disposed between top and bottom tapered-thrust bearings, a plurality of jam nuts to adjust a preload of the tapered-thrust bearings, and a lower seal carrier attached to the seal and bearing housing comprising a plurality of dynamic sealing elements that contact the mandrel.
Dual hardness sealing elements for blowout preventer
The present invention relates to sealing elements for blowout preventers comprising a sealing interface region, and a second region, wherein said sealing interface region is formed of a first polymer and said second region is formed of a second polymer, the first and second polymers having different Shore A hardnesses, including sealing elements made of dual hardness polyurethane.
Swivel device for rotating a bowl
The swivel device attaches to a bowl or is implemented as a component of the bowl. The swivel device enables adjustment of the bowl to align the outlet with the flowline. A flange of the swivel device includes multiple fastener apertures for securing the flange to the stack. The swivel device secures the bowl to the stack while allowing rotation of the bowl. Rotation of the bowl adjusts the positioning of the outlet to align the outlet with the flowline for connecting the outlet to the flowline.
Device for Emptying a Wireline Operated Wellbore Debris Clean Out Tool and a Method for Using the Device
A circulation unit for connecting to a lubricator suitable for housing a wireline operated tool string for collecting debris within a petroleum well is described. The circulation unit comprises a house with an upper lubricator connection and at least one lower internal seal member adapted to seal against an outer surface of the tool string. The circulation unit has an outlet above the seal member, the outlet being connected to a reservoir. The circulation unit has a lower lubricator connection. The house, upper lubricator connection and lower lubricator connection form a through passage for the tool string. The upper lubrication connection and lower lubrication connection are adapted for connection to a pressurized lubricator. The tool string includes a wellbore cleanout tool with filling means. The wellbore cleanout tool comprises an outlet for unloading collected debris in a lubricator assembly comprising the lubricator and the circulation unit. The method for unloading the filled wellbore cleanout tool in the circulation unit is also described.
Rotating control device element reinforcement petals
A reinforced seal for use in a rotating control device in a wellbore includes an annular elastomeric body and an internal support embedded within the elastomeric body and extending in an axial direction, the internal support comprising a plurality of overlapping petals. A system for sealing a drill string includes a rotating control device including the reinforced seal configured to accommodate the drill string therethrough.
ROTATING CONTROL DEVICE SYSTEM
A rotating control device (RCD) system includes a housing having a bore, a seal element positioned within the housing, a piston assembly supported within the housing and configured to drive the seal element to seal the bore, and a bearing assembly supported within the housing and configured to enable the seal element to rotate relative to the housing. The bearing assembly includes a first bearing section positioned between the housing and the seal element and a second bearing section positioned between a piston of the piston assembly and the seal element.
Fluid containment system and method
The fluid containment system attaches to the wellhead below the rotating control device to catch fluids. The fluid containment system provides a pan below the outlet of the body in which the rotating head assembly is secured. A curtain attaches to the fluid containment system to at least partially enclose the wellhead. The curtain directs the escaped fluids to the pan. An opening in the curtain provides an outlet for the body allowing fluids within the pipe to flow from the body. Conduits attach to outlets of the pan to transfer the fluids from the pan to a tank.
