Arrangement for achieving a reciprocal motion in particular for a chain saw
09849604 · 2017-12-26 · ·

An arrangement that can be turned by an assigned hydraulic pressure and flow, related to a chain saw supported by a harvesting unit for crosscutting timber, wherein a bearing arrangement is arranged for the chain saw and oriented between a guide bar housing and the chain saw's drive motor unit, wherewith an oscillatory motion can be activated by a hydraulic control valve, through which hydraulic flow is alternatively controlled via feed or connection lines to the bearing arrangement, for a first or second operating mode. The arrangement is activated via hydrostatic pressure and coordinated with the guide bar housing, and with the drive motor unit, via surrounding perforated discs oriented in parallel and aligned around an axis of rotation for a drive shaft. The hydrostatic affects the arrangement's oscillatory motion for a reciprocal motion pattern, while spent hydraulic oil serves as a lubricating film between the opposing bearing surfaces.

ROTARY MACHINE

The disclosure provides rotary machines that include, in one embodiment, a shaft defining a central axis A, the shaft having a first end and a second end. The shaft can have a first gearbox disposed thereon defining one or more cavities therein. At least one contour is slidably received into an arcuate cavity in an exterior surface of the gearbox. The contour has a convex outer surface that cooperates with an inwardly facing curved surface of a housing to form a working volume. A gearbox mechanism consisting of gears, crankshafts, bearings and connecting rod creates an oscillatory motion 2 times per revolution such that the contour can navigate about the arcuate cavity without contacting the cavity at a high rate of rotating speed. Thus, said working volume can expand and compresses twice per rotatable shaft revolution.

Compressor shell assembly

A compressor may include a compression mechanism and a shell assembly. The shell assembly may include first and second snap rings, a body, and first and second caps cooperating with the body to enclose the compression mechanism therein. The body may include first and second ends and an inner surface extending between both ends. The first cap may be received within the first end and may include a first side wall having a first groove. The second cap may be received within the second end and may include a second side wall having a second groove. The first snap ring may be disposed within the first groove and may engage the first end to restrict removal of the first cap from the body. The second snap ring may be disposed within the second groove and may engage the second end to restrict removal of the second cap from the body.

Control of chamber combustion and operation of a guided-vane rotary internal combustion engine
09850835 · 2017-12-26 · ·

A guided-vane rotary internal combustion engine including a plurality of working chambers which are separated from one another by way of vane assemblies which rotate with a rotor assembly about an axis employs a rotor assembly having a plurality of sectors wherein each sector is associated with a corresponding working chamber and a plurality of spark plugs wherein each spark plug is mounted within a corresponding sector for igniting an air/fuel mixture contained within a corresponding working chamber. A rotor disk is mounted upon the rotor assembly for rotation therewith and acts as a distributor through which energizing charges are conducted to the spark plugs. In addition, a controller is utilized for selectively activating or de-activating the working chambers of the engine upon the occurrence of a predetermined event.

Liquid pump, in particular for providing a supply to a transmission or to a clutch in the drive train of a motor vehicle
11686306 · 2023-06-27 · ·

A liquid pump, in particular for providing a supply to a transmission or to a clutch in the drive train of a motor vehicle, includes a drive motor, a pump module which can be operated in two opposing directions of rotation, and at least one inlet and multiple outlets, each of which has at least one corresponding check valve. The pump has a valve plate corresponding to the pump module in which, for each check valve, a valve seat and a receptacle for a valve element interacting with the valve seat are provided.

Positive displacement pump assembly with movable end plate for rotor face clearance control
09845804 · 2017-12-19 · ·

A positive displacement pump assembly includes a rotor housing defining a rotor cavity, and an end plate configured to at least partially close one end of the rotor cavity. Rotors are supported on and fixed to rotor shafts and extend through the rotor cavity. A first pair of bearings fixing the rotor shafts to the end plate. A second pair of bearings fixes the rotor shafts to the rotor housing, preventing relative axial movement between the rotor shafts and the rotor housing. The end plate is axially movable with the rotor shafts when the rotor shafts vary in axial length due to thermal fluctuations so that changes in an axial clearance at end faces of the rotors are reduced.
