An operational parameter of the battery and the driving mode of the vehicle is determined. After receiving an indication that a first operational parameter threshold has been surpassed and a torque demand of the vehicle has been predicted, heat is provided to the catalyst of the after-treatment system based on the predicted torque demand of the vehicle surpassing a second operational parameter threshold.

A method to control a burner for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas after-treatment system including at least one catalytic converter. The method provides the steps of calculating the thermal power needed to reach the nominal operating temperature of the at least one catalytic converter and determining an actual number of revolutions with which to operate a fresh air pumping device based on the sum of a nominal number of revolutions, a closed-loop contribution of the number of revolutions with which to operate the fresh air pumping device, and a further contribution of the number of revolutions with which to operate the fresh air pumping device in order to ensure optimal thermal power exiting the burner.
EXHAUST TREATMENT DEVICE FOR DIESEL ENGINE
An exhaust treatment device for a diesel engine is provided, which includes a parked regeneration requirement notification component and a parked regeneration start operation component. A regeneration process of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) includes an automatic regeneration process and a parked regeneration process. The automatic regeneration process is automatically started when an estimation value of particulate material (PM) accumulated in the DPF reaches a predetermined automatic regeneration start determination value. The parked regeneration process is performed when first and a second conditions are satisfied. The first condition is that a parked regeneration requirement notification component performs a notification of a parked regeneration requirement when a number of cancellations of the automatic regeneration process reaches a predetermined value. The second condition is that the parked regeneration start operation component is subjected to a start operation during a parked state in which an engine equipped machine is neither traveling nor working.
NITROGEN OXIDE PURIFICATION SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME
A nitrogen oxide purification system includes an exhaust line exhausting exhaust gas from a combustion chamber. A first nitrogen oxide purification device is mounted at an upstream side of the exhaust line to primarily purify nitrogen oxides (NOx) included in the exhaust gas, and a second nitrogen oxide purification device is mounted to a downstream side of the first nitrogen oxide purification device to secondarily purify the NOx. A second injector is disposed between the first nitrogen oxide purification device and the first injector to additionally inject fuel for controlling an air/fuel ratio of the exhaust gas.

Systems and methods for managing diesel exhaust fluid stratification
A method for an exhaust system is provided, comprising adjusting reductant injection responsive to a reductant concentration, the reductant concentration based on concentration sensor readings and vehicle motion. If the reductant freezes, the reductant may stratify, leading to inaccurate concentration sensor readings. Vehicle motion may mix the reductant, thereby ensuring an accurate concentration measurement which may then be used to adjust reductant injection.
AFTERTREATMENT HEATER MANAGEMENT FOR EFFICIENT THERMAL MANAGEMENT
A system, method, and apparatus for decreasing harmful emissions is provided. The system includes an aftertreatment system comprising an exhaust conduit that directs exhaust gas from an engine system; a heater coupled to the aftertreatment system and configured to provide heat; and a controller coupled to the heater. The controller is configured to: determine whether the engine system is idling; in response to determining that the engine system is idling, determine whether a conversion efficiency of the engine system is greater than a threshold value; in response to determining that the conversion efficiency is greater than the threshold value, determine whether a temperature regarding the aftertreatment system is greater than a threshold temperature; and in response to determining that the temperature of the aftertreatment system is greater than the threshold temperature, at least one of disable or partially disable the heater.
