Sliding bearing element
A sliding bearing element with a first layer having a radially inner surface includes a measuring device arranged on the radially inner surface of the first layer. The measuring device includes, in the order indicated, a first electrical insulating layer, a sensor layer and a second electrical insulating layer. A sliding layer is arranged on the second electrical insulating layer.
Bearing assembly of a hinge coupling a first component and a second component
A bearing assembly of a hinge coupling first and second components includes an outer ring secured to the second component having an axial primary bore with a primary inner surface. An inner ring axially rotates, and has a primary outer surface rollingly contacting the primary inner surface, defining a primary sliding path with a primary friction coefficient. The inner ring includes a secondary axial bore with a secondary inner surface. An inner shaft in the secondary bore is secured to the first component and is axially rotatable. The inner shaft has a secondary outer surface rollingly contacting the secondary inner surface defining a secondary sliding path with a second friction coefficient. One of the sliding paths has a triboelectric layer surface frictionally generating an electrical current when that sliding path is engaged. A transmission element transmits, to a failure detection system, a signal due to such electrical current.
HALF BEARING AND SLIDING BEARING
Provided is a half bearing constituting a sliding bearing that is unlikely to cause damage during an operation of an internal combustion engine. The half bearing includes at least one protrusion, and the protrusion projects outward in a radial direction from an outer circumferential surface. A recessed portion that is recessed inward in the radial direction from the outer circumferential surface is formed over the entire inner-circumferential length between the protrusion and a circumferential-direction end surface of the half bearing. Two radial-direction grooves are formed in the circumferential-direction end surface of the half bearing relative to the protrusion, and each of the radial-direction grooves is adjacent to each of recessed portion side surfaces. The radial-direction grooves extend in the radial direction along the recessed portion side surfaces and are separated from the recessed portion at a midpoint of the extension. An inner circumferential surface-side end portion in an extending direction of the radial-direction grooves is located between a recessed portion bottom surface and an inner circumferential surface of the half bearing. A groove width and a groove depth of the radial-direction grooves decrease from the position separated from the recessed portion toward the inner circumferential surface-side end portion and reach zero at the inner circumferential surface-side end portion.
Bearing and method of manufacturing permitting high temperature heat treatment
A bearing including a backing formed of a steel material, a lining formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, and a diffusion barrier layer disposed between the backing and the lining is provided. The diffusion barrier layer is formed of nickel or a nickel alloy and has a thickness ranging from 1 micron to 100 microns. The bearing is typically formed by cladding the lining or plating the steel backing with the diffusion barrier layer, bonding the lining and the backing with the diffusion barrier layer between, heating to a temperature of at least 400° C., and forming the bearing into a shape after or before the heating step.
Apparatus and Method for Assembling a Split Sleeve onto a Shaft
An apparatus and method for assembling a split sleeve onto a shaft. The split sleeve apparatus provides a first and second arcuate portion with each having a partial cylindrical configuration. The first and second arcuate portions have at least one finger extending circumferentially outward from their opposing ends. The at least one finger from each of the first and second arcuate portions complementarily engage one another to form a continuous cylinder. At least one aperture extends longitudinally through the at least one finger of the first and second arcuate portions. A dowel rod extends through the at least one aperture for connecting the first and second arcuate portions to form the cylinder. The first and second arcuate portions are fabricated from a material having heat expansion characteristics that allow the material to expand when heated during assembly and to contract when cooled creating an interference fit with the shaft.
Sliding member
Disclosed herein is a sliding member, such as a sliding bearing, including a resin overlay layer having improved conformability. The sliding member includes a bearing alloy layer and a resin overlay layer formed on the bearing alloy layer, wherein the resin overlay layer includes a solid lubricant phase, a binder resin phase, and a cushion phase, and an area ratio of the cushion phase is 0.5% or more but 5.0% or less.
Half bearing and sliding bearing
A semi-cylindrical half bearing for a sliding bearing includes at least one axial groove formed on its inner circumferential surface that includes a smooth groove surface formed back away from the inner circumferential surface toward a radially outer side of the half bearing. The groove surface forms a convex curve toward the radially outer side in a cross-section perpendicular to the axial direction of the half bearing, and forms a straight line extending in the axial direction in a cross-section parallel to the axial direction. The half bearing further includes a plurality of axial narrow grooves formed on the groove surface so as to be back away from the groove surface toward the radially outer side, that extend in the axial direction of the half bearing.
SYNTHETIC RESIN-MADE SLIDING BEARING
A synthetic resin-made sliding bearing 1 include a synthetic resin-made upper casing 2, a synthetic resin-made lower casing 3, and a thrust sliding bearing piece 4 serving as a synthetic resin-made thrust sliding bearing interposed between the lower casing 3 and the upper casing 2 fitted over the lower casing 3.
Shaft supporting unit and manufacturing method thereof
A shaft supporting unit 15A supports a shaft of a pivoting body with capacity of pivot movement. A lower block 58A has a lower recess with a semicircular column shape, and is configured to support the shaft from beneath. A lower bush 59 has a semi-cylindrical shape, is located in the lower recess, and is configured to slide the shaft on it. The shaft supporting unit 15A does not abut an upper side of the shaft when the pivoting body pivots. An upper block 56A is configured to cover above the shaft, and has an upper recess with a predetermined gap between it and the shaft.
Tiltrotor Aircraft having Spherical Bearing Mounted Pylon Assemblies
