Metabolic caging
Provided herein are animal waste collecting animal containment cages for collecting and separating feces and urine from an animal or animals. Also provided herein are animal waste collecting animal containment cages that are disposable and are for single use. Also provided herein are animal waste collecting animal containment cages that are disposed within a rack. Also provided herein are methods of using and manufacturing an animal waste collecting animal containment cage.
COVER FOR A CAGE FOR LABORATORY ANIMALS, AND CAGE FOR LABORATORY ANIMALS INCLUDING SAID COVER
A cage for housing laboratory animals, said cage comprising a tray and a cover which can be removed and switched between a first closing position, in which it is positioned on said tray thus stopping the access to the internal space delimited by said tray, and a second opening position, in which said internal space may be accessed.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) Diagnosis System
A diagnosis system and method for detecting various Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in a biological sample by utilizing a smart platform configured to harness animal bio-sensors trained to detect various VOC's which may indicate various pathologies, and by conducting various data collection practices and analysis methods in order to produce output results. The diagnosis system and method is configured to analyze behavioral parameters concerning the animal bio-sensor and provide a non-invasive and safe diagnostic solution that does not involve exposing a patient to radiation or any other potentially harmful procedure.
GROWING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A growing system is described where plants are grown in containers and the containers are stored in stacks. Above the stacks runs a grid network of tracks on which load handling devices run. The load handling devices take containers from the stacks and deposit then at alternative locations in the stacks or deposit them at stations where goods may be picked out. The containers may be provided with one or more of the following services: power, power control, heating, lighting, cooling, sensing means, data logging means, growing means, water and nutrients.
EXPERIMENTAL ANIMAL RESTRAINER APPLICABLE TO VARIOUS DRUG ADMINISTRATION METHOD
Provided is an experimental animal restrainer applicable to various drug administration methods, as an experimental animal restrainer that can be used for intrathecal administration, intravenous administration and intratracheal administration only by replacing some components. There is an advantage of being used to administer drug substances to experimental animals by various methods only through the experimental animal restrainer even without using the experimental animal restrainer applicable only to each administration method.
ANIMAL BEDDING AGITATOR
Devices for agitating animal bedding are disclosed. The devices include a tumbler, a closure mechanism, a rotating mechanism, a motor, and a controller. The devices for agitating animal bedding are constructed and arranged to fit within a cage body. Systems having a cage body and a tumbler positioned within the cage body are disclosed. Methods of testing an animal population for a target pathogen are disclosed. The methods include introducing used animal bedding into a tumbler, introducing a sample collection unit into the tumbler, actuating a closure mechanism to fasten the tumbler, instructing the controller to operate the motor driving the rotating mechanism, retrieving a loaded sample collection unit from the tumbler, and testing the sample for the presence of the target pathogen. Methods of retrofitting a cage body including providing a device for agitating animal bedding are also disclosed.
Pellet dispenser for laboratory animal cages
Features are described for a pellet dispenser. The pellet dispenser be implemented as a complex molded unit to fit within the home cage of laboratory animals (e.g., hanging from a wall of the cage or inside a food hopper of the cage). The pellet dispenser may be contained within the cage or otherwise attached to the cage so as not to take up additional floor space in the cage which should be allocated for the small laboratory animal. The pellets may be gravity or screw drive fed towards an ejector port. At prescribed times during the day, a prescribed number of pellets may be ejected into the animal cage. Additional components of the pellet dispenser include an ejector (e.g., a linear actuator) and pellet hopper.
Cage assembly for animal test subjects
A cage assembly can have at least one enclosure. Each enclosure can have a floor defining a floor area having a major dimension and a cover having a bottom surface. A spacing between the bottom surface of the cover and the floor can define a cage height. At least one sidewall can extend between the floor and the cover. A ratio of the cage height to the major dimension of the floor area of each enclosure of the at least one enclosure can be at least 0.70.
MACHINE FOR WASHING CAGES AND ACCESSORIES USED IN THE FIELD OF RESEARCH ON LABORATORY ANIMALS
The machine (1) for washing cages and accessories comprises a washing booth (2) for washing animal cages (G) by means of a washing liquid, a first tank (8) and a second tank (9) intended for collecting and recycling the washing liquid according to the acid/basic value of the liquid itself, the tanks (8,9) being positioned below the washing booth (2) and in fluidic communication with the latter. The machine (1) comprises deflection means (17) of the washing liquid positioned between the washing booth (2) and the tanks (8,9) and intended to deflect the washing liquid alternately towards the first tank (8) or the second tank (9).
System for treating wash waste liquid, adapted for application in a continuous tunnel washing machine in the field of preclinical pharmaceutical research
A system for treating wash waste liquid is described, configured for coupling to a wash module of a continuous Tunnel washing machine for the field of Preclinical Pharmaceutical Research, said wash module (12) comprising a wash chamber (25), characterized in that it comprises: a wash tub (22) with a side wall (31) substantially cylindrical in shape, with a tangential liquid suction outlet (33) and a substantially conical bottom, with a wash waste drain point (35) at the vertex of the cone, said tangential suction being adapted to generate a rotational motion of the liquid in said tub, said tub being positioned under said wash chamber (25), so as to receive said wash liquid by gravity; a centrifugal wash pump (21) with an open impeller, adapted to take in liquid from said tangential liquid suction outlet (33); an in-line filter (26) with an internal filter cartridge of the “wedge-wire” type, adapted to filter the liquid coming from said centrifugal pump (21) and deliver it back, filtered, into said wash chamber (25), and comprising a flush valve (27) for discharging the filtering waste.
