Particulate filter for a motor vehicle

A particulate filter for a motor vehicle has a casing (2) that allows through flow. A core (4) is accommodated in the casing (2) and allows through flow. The casing (2) has a longitudinal axis (3). A through flow duct (9) is formed between the casing (2) and the core (4) to allow the through flow of exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle. A ring (7) is arranged in the through flow duct (9) and gives the through flow duct (9) a labyrinth-type configuration.

An exhaust after-treatment assembly for an engine system is provided. The exhaust after-treatment assembly includes a housing having an inlet port, an outlet port, a catalyst disposed within a cavity defined by the housing, and a muffler assembly disposed within the cavity downstream of the catalyst. The muffler assembly includes one or more baffle plates disposed longitudinally spaced from one another within the housing to define at least a first resonator chamber and a second resonator chamber. Each of the baffle plates defines an openings aligned to one another about a longitudinal axis of the housing. Further, a resonator tube extends through the openings of the baffle plates and includes an inlet, a perforated portion and one or more outlet ports formed in a wall of the resonator tube. The perforated portion and the outlet ports, respectively in fluid communication with the second resonator chamber and the first resonator chamber.

Catalyzed particulate filter

A catalyzed particulate filter that includes: at least one inlet channel extending in a longitudinal direction, one end of which lets fluid in, and the other end of which is blocked; at least one outlet channel extending in the longitudinal direction, one end of which is blocked and the other end of which lets the fluid out; at least one porous wall that defines the boundary between neighboring inlet and outlet channels and that extends in the longitudinal direction; and a support with a catalyst coating thereon.

A muffler integrated type gasoline particulate filter includes a filter having first and second surfaces and first channels and second channels alternately arranged, each of the first channels being closed at the second surface and each of the second channels being closed at the first surface, the filter collecting exhaust gas particulates when exhaust gas passes through a wall surface disposed between the first and second channels. The muffler integrated type gasoline particulate filter further includes protruding walls formed on an inner wall surface of each of the first and second channels in a longitudinal direction thereof. The protruding walls reduce noise of the exhaust gas flowing along each of the first and second channels.

ANGLED SENSOR MOUNT FOR USE WITH A SINGLE MODULE AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM OR THE LIKE

Implementations described herein relate to features for a single module aftertreatment system. The single module aftertreatment system includes a casing, a catalyst within the casing, and a sensor mount coupled to the casing. The sensor mount is angled relative to a portion of the casing at a position where the sensor mount is coupled to the casing. The sensor mount includes a first attachment leg, a second attachment leg, and an angled mounting portion. The angled mounting portion connects the first attachment leg to the second attachment leg. The sensor mount is coupled to the casing by the first attachment leg and the second attachment leg such that the first attachment leg, the second attachment leg, and the angled mounting portion form an air gap relative to the casing.

An exhaust gas purification system is provided with an exhaust gas purification device which is arranged in an exhaust gas route of a common rail type engine, and is structured such that a plurality of renewing modes which burn and remove a particulate matter deposited within the exhaust gas purification device is executed. One of the plurality of renewing modes is an initialization renewing (a forced renewing) mode which supplies a fuel into the exhaust gas purification device by a post injection regardless of a clogged state of the exhaust gas purification device, in the case that an accumulated drive time of the engine becomes equal to or more than a previously set time.

Particle filter

A particle filter (2) for filtering exhaust gas in an internal combustion engine includes a housing and a filter element. A simplified installation and/or simplified replacement of the filter element (5) and/or improved sealing of the housing (4) results if the filter element (5) is supported in an inner jacket (9), which is supported radially in an outer jacket (12) and is arranged so as to be axially movable in the outer jacket (12). The inner jacket (9) is axially supported on a ring (24), which is supported axially on a cover (22) that closes an installation opening (20) of the housing (4) via at least one supporting element (25) in order to transmit pressure forces. A muffler (1) is provided having such a particle filter (2), wherein a section of a muffler housing (3) of the muffler (1) forms the housing (4) of the particle filter (2).
