Controllable transcription
The present invention relates to a stable method for introducing at least one inducible cassette into a cell, and permitting controllable transcription from within that inducible cassette. The method may be used for any cell type, from any eukaryotic organism, but has a particular application in the introduction of inducible cassettes into pluripotent stem cells, such as animal or human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs). The inducible cassette is controllably inserted in such a way to ensure that the genetic material it contains is not silenced or subject to negative influences from the insertion site, and transcription of the genetic material is controlled.
Neutrophil Progenitors and Related Methods and Uses
There is provided a method of identifying a neutrophil progenitor, the method comprising: determining an expression of at least one biomarker selected from the group consisting of: CD71, LOX-1, CD164, CD112, CD181, TACSTD2, CD11b and CD49d in a cell. In various embodiments, the cell is identified as a neutrophil progenitor when it is determined to have at least one of the following expression profiles: CD71.sup.hi/+, LOX-1.sup.int/lo/−, CD164.sup.hi/+, CD112.sup.hi/+, CD181.sup.int/lo/−, TACSTD2.sup.hi/+, CD11b.sup.lo/− and/or CD49d.sup.int/hi/+. Also disclosed are a method of sorting and/or separating neutrophil progenitors from a cell population, a composition that is enriched in neutrophil progenitors and related uses and methods.
Device and method for cancer detection
A cancer cell detection device includes a computer with a database and a display and a microscope coupled to the computer. The microscope has a base upon which a biopsy sample can be placed. The device further includes a camera coupled to the microscope and computer. The camera is configured to capture images of the biopsy sample. The device also has a filter configured to attach to the microscope and a connection feature for connecting the computer to the camera and the filter. The computer further includes a processor that processes the images captured by the camera and classifies the images according to known variables stored in the database.
Cell-based assay for determining activity in the retinoblastoma pathway
Disclosed are methods of determining activity of CDK4 and CDK6 variants upon exposure to CDK inhibitors, methods for determining activity of a Rb variant, methods for determining the activity of a p16 variant in a cell, and methods for determining the sensitivity of a CDK4 variant or a CDK6 variant to p16 in a cell. Stable cell lines for determining activity of CDK4 variants, CDK6 variants, Rb variants, and p16 variants are also disclosed.
METHOD AND PLATFORM FOR ENHANCING DETECTION ACTIVITY OF INTERACTION BETWEEN SPIKE PROTEIN RECEPTOR BINDING DOMAIN OF CORONAVIRUS FROM SPECIMEN AND HUMAN ANGIOTENSIN-CONVERTING ENZYME II
The present disclosure provides a method and a platform for enhancing detection activity of an interaction between a spike protein receptor binding domain of coronavirus from a specimen and a human angiotensin-converting enzyme II. The method and the platform of the present disclosure use a cleavable luciferase as a report test for the combination of the spike protein receptor binding domain of coronavirus (such as novel coronavirus) and angiotensin-converting enzyme II. Screening is carried out at the cellular level. The strength of the drug's influence on the interaction between the two molecules can be judged by the strength of the luminescence signal. The detection time can be completed within 20 minutes.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR EVALUATING OPTIMIZED CONCENTRATION TRAJECTORIES FOR DRUG ADMINISTRATION
The present invention is in the field of experimental data acquisition. In particular, the present invention relates to a live-cell imaging method and a corresponding system for acquiring experimental data of one or more biological probes. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods and systems for evaluating an optimized concentration trajectory for administration of a drug, in particular a chemotherapeutic drug.
Cellular measurement, calibration, and classification
The invention provides devices and methods for linked multimodal measurements of individual particles using a mass sensor and an additional sensor.
ANTI-IDIOTYPIC ANTIGEN BINDING MOLECULES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Isolated antigen binding molecules that specifically bind to a CLL-1 binding molecule are provided. The antigen binding molecules may be used in the methods provided herein.
APPARATUSES FOR CELL MAPPING VIA IMPEDANCE MEASUREMENTS AND METHODS TO OPERATE THE SAME
Disclosed herein are an apparatus for electrically assessing and/or manipulating cells. One aspect is directed to electrically mapping cells on the surface of the semiconductor substrate via cross-electrode impedance measurements. Further according to some aspects, the electrode array allows for spatially addressable electrical stimulation and/or recording of electrical signals in real-time using the CMOS circuitry. Some of these aspects are directed to using an electrode array to perform cell patterning through electrochemical gas generation, and extracellular electrochemical mapping.
Methods for treating diseases mediated by ERBB4-positive pro-inflammatory macrophages
Provided herein are methods and compositions for treating disease-states associated with presence of increased number of ErbB4+ pro-inflammatory macrophages in a subject in need thereof. The methods include providing an activator of ErbB4 and administering a therapeutically effective amount of the activator to the subject. The compositions include an activator of ErbB4. In one embodiment, the activation of ErbB4 is Neuregulin-4.
