Improved fluoresced imaging (FI) and other sensor data imaging processes, devices, and systems are provided to enhance display of different secondary types of images and reflected light images together. Reflected light images are converted to a larger color space in a manner that preserves the color information of the reflected light image. FI or secondary images are transformed to a color range within the larger color space, but outside the color area of the reflected light images, allowing the FI or secondary images to be combined with them in a manner with improved distinguishability of color. Hardware designs are provide to enable real-time processing of image streams from medical scopes. The combined images are encoded for an electronic display capable of displaying the larger color space.

Optical device

An optical device includes a first sub-assembly having an input lens for collimating illuminating light and having an optical axis. The first sub-assembly also has an output lens for focusing collimated light received from a sample, the output lens having an optical axis which is offset and substantially parallel with the optical axis of the input lens, and further includes a first support piece which houses and supports the input lens and the output lens. The optical device also includes a second sub-assembly having an input filter for filtering the collimated illuminating light, an output filter for filtering the collimated light received from the sample, and a second support piece which houses and supports the input filter and the output filter. The first and second support pieces are joined together by a liquid-tight joint.

[Object] Proposed is a new and improved illuminating device, a control method for the illuminating device, and an image acquisition system which can adjust light amounts of a plurality of respective light sources on the basis of correlations between a luminance acquired from a light receiving unit and the light amounts of the emission light beams so as to precisely adjust the color temperature in the light receiving unit.

[Solution] An illuminating device includes: a white light source configured to emit white light; RGB light sources light amounts of respective emission light beams of which are independently adjustable; a multiplexing unit configured to multiplex the white light and the emission light beams into illumination light; and a control unit configured to control the light amounts of the respective emission light beams.

INSERTION APPARATUS

An insertion apparatus includes an insertion section, a rotational housing, a motor, and a controller. The motor rotates the rotational housing. The controller designates a rotational direction of the motor. The controller limits the rotational direction of the motor to allow the insertion section to move only in a removal direction when inspection control for inspecting an operation relative to an insertion direction of the insertion section is initiated.

The present invention is aimed to design an improved lighting assembly for camera module of an endoscope. The camera module is received in a cylinder body, which is connected with the tail end of the tube of the endoscope. The character of this invention is to provide a secondary lighting apparatus between the cylinder body and the tube. The secondary lighting apparatus includes several LEDs being mounted inside annular-arrayed and covered by a transparent ring. The annular-arrayed LEDs can emit light through the transparent ring with 360 degrees lighting outwards that provides a perfect lighting effect for capturing the inner images of patients and will facilitate the judgement of users or doctors.

Image processing apparatus and endoscope

An image processing apparatus according to the present disclosure includes an illuminating section which sequentially irradiates an object with first and second illuminating light beams polarized in first and second directions. First and second polarization images are generated based on signals representing light transmitted through polarizers having the polarization transmission axis in respective directions that are parallel to, and intersect with, the first direction while the object is being irradiated with the first illuminating light beam, and third and fourth polarization images are generated based on signals representing light transmitted through polarizers having the polarization transmission axis in respective directions that are parallel to, and intersect with, the second direction while the object is being irradiated with the second illuminating light beam. A depressed object surface region is detected based on the first and second polarization images and/or the third and fourth polarization images.
