A computer system generates a computer-guided personal care routine based at least in part on a digital model of a user's face. In an embodiment, a computer system generates the model based on one or more images or scans of the user's face, and generates a computer-guided personal care routine based on the model, environmental data (e.g., temperature data, humidity data, pollution data, UV radiation data), and user data. In an embodiment, a routine generated on this basis includes multiple steps to be carried out using a computer-controlled skin care device as well as user prompts related to execution of such steps that are configured to be presented in a user interface. In an embodiment, the computer-guided routine includes one or more operational settings (e.g., brush head speed, cleansing duration) for the computer-controlled skin care device that are automatically set at appropriate times according to the generated routine.

MULTI-USE ENDOSCOPE WITH INTEGRATED DEVICE-PATIENT MONITORING AND PATIENT-PROVIDER POSITIONING AND DISASSOCIATION SYSTEM

A system having a scope with a longitudinal length extending between a proximal end and a distal end includes a plurality of markers spaced along the longitudinal length. The system also includes a disassociation and positioning device that is configured to enhance unsedated transnasal endoscopic procedures by at least partially occluding the vision of a patient while enabling body cavity access, and optionally record and sense body functions such as temperature, heart rate and oxygenation of the blood stream. The system further includes a sensor integrated into the distraction device, wherein the sensor is configured to detect the markers on the longitudinal length of the scope.

According to an aspect of some embodiments of the present invention there is provided a method of dynamically adapting a facial treatment based on a current facial skin profile, comprising: using at least one sensor for measuring at least one current value of at least one variable skin characteristic of facial skin of a patient; acquiring at least one personal skin characteristic of facial skin of the patient; calculating a current facial skin status of the patient according to the at least one personal skin characteristic and the at least one current value; determining instructions to operate a treatment applicator according to the current facial skin status; and instructing the treatment applicator according to the instructions.

Skin reflectance and oiliness measurement

Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for generating a quantitative indication of the degree of oiliness of skin. In exemplary embodiments, a difference image generated from parallel- and a cross-polarized images of an area of skin is subjected to an intensity thresholding operation. An oiliness metric is generated based on the average intensity of those pixels whose intensities do not exceed the threshold, and/or on the average intensity of those pixels whose intensities exceed the threshold. An indication based on the metric is generated and output.

Devices and methods for identifying and monitoring changes of a suspect area of a patient

A device for acquiring first and subsequent images of a suspect area on a patient and methods for monitoring or detecting changes of the suspect area over time and providing notification when the changes exceed a threshold. The device may be an imaging device, such as a digital camera, possibly augmented with physical or optical devices for arranging the orientation and/or distance of the imaging device with respect to the suspect area. In addition, methods for identifying, relocating, acquiring a first and/or subsequent image of the suspect area, and performing a comparative analysis of respective images are also described. Results of the comparative analysis can be used to notify and/or assist a medical professional in treating or counseling the patient.

Method for characterising a mechanical property of a material

A method for characterising a mechanical property of a material. The method comprises the steps of providing the material having a deformable portion and providing a device having an optical element that is arranged to detect electromagnetic radiation.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR LOCATING PRESSURE SENSITIVE CRITICAL STRUCTURES
20170319190 · 2017-11-09 ·

The present disclosure relates to devices, systems, and methods for controlling the pressure a sensor applies on the surface of tissue to facilitate locating underlying pressure sensitive critical structures. The laparoscopic device includes a handle and a shaft extending distally from the handle. A flexible member is slidably disposed within the shaft and movable between a retracted position and an extended position. A sensor is coupled to a distal end of the flexible member. The flexible member is configured to flex to limit an amount of pressure applied by the sensor to a tissue surface when the sensor is in contact with a tissue surface.

System and method for providing light therapy to a user body

The invention provides a light therapy device for providing therapeutic treatment to a user's body, wherein the user may be a person or an animal. The device is using a light projection method for treating the body problems and/or skin disorders. Further, the device is having a rotatable assembly that automatically follows the movement of the desired area of the body needs to be treated. The device uses artificial intelligence, machine learning, localization modules, object detection module, image processing module, and 3D-mapping to automatically identify and treating the desired area of the body. Furthermore, the user can manually identify, select and prioritize desired treatment portion and can select the type of treatment required.

Aspects of the embodiments are directed to compact and non-contact systems, methods, and devices for optical detection of target chemicals on/in samples are disclosed. Light of at least two different wavelengths, or different bands of wavelengths, interacts with a target chemical, and at least some of the light that has interacted with the target chemical is incident on at least two photodetectors. Each of the photodetectors is configured to detect light of a different wavelength, or a different band of wavelengths, that has interacted with the target chemical. A processing logic is configured to compute a ratio between a parameter indicative of the intensity of light detected by one photodetector and a parameter indicative of the intensity of light detected by the other photodetector, and to determine the presence and/or the amount of the target chemical based on the computed ratio.
