Methods and tools for hip replacement with superscapsular percutaneously assisted total hip approach
11304825 · 2022-04-19 · ·

A minimally invasive surgical procedure for replacing a hip joint is provided. A main incision is initiated at a point being a projection of a tip of a greater trochanter and extends proximally about a distance in the range of from 1 cm to 8 cm in line with the femoral axis. An inline capsulotomy is performed, while keeping muscles and posterior capsule intact, to expose the hip joint capsule for accessing the hip joint. The femoral canal is prepared for receipt of a femoral implant. The femoral head is resected and removed out of the acetabulum. A step of acetabular preparation is performed using a retractor comprising two tip rails, each tip rail having a plurality of tines. Related tools, devices, systems and methods are also provided.

VETERINARY DISTAL HUMERUS FRACTURE PLATES

Bone plates are disclosed for veterinary uses. For example, the bone plates could be utilized for repairing distal humerus fractures in canines or felines. The bone plates may include various features for better accommodating the anatomy and native tissue structure of the distal humerus of an animal and may be utilized for all distal humerus fracture patterns.

Bone fixation device

There is disclosed a bone fixation device that can include a cage having an optional mesh portion. The bone fixation device can be configured to couple a leg portion to a foot portion of a user's body. In at least one embodiment, the device includes at least one cage having a plurality of struts forming cells. There can be an optional mesh portion having a pre-set porosity that can be either constant or variable in density. In at least one embodiment there can be a cage portion which is substantially spherical shaped. Alternatively, the device can be substantially egg shaped. In at least one embodiment there can be a central post hole for receiving a post. In another embodiment at least one plate or shaft can connect to the cage.

Implant and guide

A method for configuring a surgical guide and an associated implant. The implant and surgical guide are for maxillofacial osteosynthesis. Three-dimensional models of the pre- and post-operative anatomy are used to define attachment points. These attachment points are used to determine a structure for the implant and surgical guide.

Orthopaedic fixation device, system and method

An implantable fixation device for rejoining opposed portions of a separated bone. The device including two corresponding plates that are configured to be aligned and coupled to a bone, such as a sternum, pre-resection of the bone or prior to cutting/separating the bone. The placement of the corresponding plates provides a gap between the edges of the plates that face one another allowing for and guiding a cutting tool for separating the bone. After the bone has been cut and the desired surgical procedure performed, the plates also assist in realigning and fixation of the bone portions. At least one plate includes a ratchet mechanism that is configured to tighten a locking element and draw the two plates together and into alignment with one another.

Systems and methods for adjacent vertebral fixation

The present invention relates to systems and methods for spinal fusion procedures that can allow all components of the spinal fusion procedure to be inserted into the wound of a patient at once, and can thus minimize the number of components that must be separately inserted into a wound. This can be accomplished by providing a intervertebral fixation system that allows an intervertebral cage and a vertebral fixation plate to be assembled into a single unit prior to insertion into a patient.

Bone positioning guide

A bone positioning guide may include a main body member, a shaft, and a bone engagement member. The shaft can be movably connected to the main body member and have the bone engagement member rotatably coupled to its distal end. The bone engagement member can have a surface configured to engage a bone. The main body member can also include a tip opposite the bone engagement member for engaging a second bone. In use, the bone engagement member may be positioned in contact with a medial side of a first metatarsal while the tip is positioned in contact with a lateral side of a different metatarsal, such as a second metatarsal. The shaft can then be moved to advance the bone engagement member toward the tip, causing realignment of the first metatarsal.

Bone fixation assembly, implants and methods of use

Bone fusion system, plate system, guide, implant, kit and methods for using the bone fusion system, plate system, guide and implant are disclosed. The bone fusion system includes an alignment guide, an implant, and at least one fastener inserted through the implant. The alignment guide includes a body portion, a first lobe positioned at a first end of the body portion, a second lobe positioned at a second end of the body portion, and an extension member extending away from a first side of the body portion. The implant includes a body portion, a first arm extending away from the body portion in a first direction, a second arm extending away from the body portion in a second direction, and a third arm extending away from the body portion laterally between the first and second arms. Finally, methods for using the bone fusion system, plate system, guide and implant are disclosed.

Transcorporeal spinal decompression and repair systems and related methods

Bone plates for engaging bone members are described herein. The bone plates can receive one or more screws to secure the bone plates to an underlying bone member. The one or more screws can be inserted into bone plate holes that can be considered locking or non-locking. The bone plates described herein can have particular combinations of locking and/or non-locking holes. In addition, instruments such as distal and proximal aiming guides can accompany the bone plates to guide one or more screws into the bone plates.
