STORAGE SYSTEM AND STORAGE CONTROL METHOD
A storage system manages correspondence relationships between physical addresses and logical addresses inside a storage device, as well as logical spaces provided by a plurality of storage devices, and when a determination is made as to whether first data and second data are stored in the same storage device in a case in which the first data and the second data are exchanged inside a logical space, and the determination is found to be affirmative, the storage device replaces the logical address corresponding to the first data with the logical address corresponding to the second data without changing the physical address of the physical area in which the first data is stored and the physical address of the physical area in which the second data is stored.

METHOD AND APPARATUS TO PROVIDE BOTH STORAGE MODE AND MEMORY MODE ACCESS TO NON-VOLATILE MEMORY WITHIN A SOLID STATE DRIVE
An apparatus is described. The apparatus can include non-volatile memory, an embedded processor, and a memory controller. The memory controller can access data from the byte addressable non-volatile memory using at least one of: a first addressing scheme or a second addressing scheme. The memory controller can provide the data to a host system over a first interface when the data is accessed using the first addressing scheme. The memory controller can provide the data to the embedded processor over a second interface when the data is accessed using the second addressing scheme.
LOCKLESS MEASUREMENT OF EXECUTION TIME OF CONCURRENTLY EXECUTED SEQUENCES OF COMPUTER PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS
A computer system supports measuring execution time of concurrent threads. A thread allocates a timing buffer in thread local storage. During execution, the thread also has access to a system timer which it can sample with microsecond or better precision with a single instruction. For any sequence of instructions within the thread for which execution time is to be measured, the sequence of instructions has an identifier and includes two commands, herein called a start command and an end command. The start command samples the system timer to obtain a start time, and stores the identifier and the start time in the timing buffer in the thread local storage. The end command samples the system timer to obtain an end time, and updates the data for the corresponding identifier in the timing buffer, to indicate an elapsed time for execution of the sequence of instructions. The start command and end command each can be implemented as a single executable instruction.
MAPPING TABLE UPDATING METHOD, MEMORY CONTROL CIRCUIT UNIT AND MEMORY STORAGE DEVICE
A mapping table updating method, a memory control circuit unit and a memory storage device are provided. The mapping table updating method includes: recording first mapping information as a mapping relation between a first virtual block and a first physical erasing unit; recording second mapping information as a mapping relation between the first virtual block and a second virtual block, and the second virtual block is mapped to the first physical erasing unit; and updating the second mapping information as a mapping relation between the first virtual block and a third virtual block if copying data belonging to the first physical erasing unit to a second physical erasing unit, and the third virtual block is mapped to the second physical erasing unit.
MEMORY COMPONENT WITH PATTERN REGISTER CIRCUITRY TO PROVIDE DATA PATTERNS FOR CALIBRATION
A memory component includes a memory core comprising dynamic random access memory (DRAM) storage cells and a first circuit to receive external commands. The external commands include a read command that specifies transmitting data accessed from the memory core. The memory component also includes a second circuit to transmit data onto an external bus in response to a read command and pattern register circuitry operable during calibration to provide at least a first data pattern and a second data pattern. During the calibration, a selected one of the first data pattern and the second data pattern is transmitted by the second circuit onto the external bus in response to a read command received during the calibration. Further, at least one of the first and second data patterns is written to the pattern register circuitry in response to a write command received during the calibration.
RESOURCE NODE INTERFACE PROTOCOL
A distributed storage system includes multiple resource nodes each having associated storage media. The resource nodes are configured to operate a first protocol between the resource nodes that exchanges availability and performance information for storage elements in the associated storage media. The resource nodes also operate a second protocol that dynamically distributes and redistributes data between the different resource nodes based on the availability and performance information for the storage elements. Relative distances may be identified between the different resource nodes and the second protocol may weight the availability and performance information based on the relative distances. The second protocol also may identify types of unshared use, shared use, and concurrent use for different portions of the data and distribute the portions of the data to other resource nodes based on the identified types of use.
Methods and systems for memory management in a publish and subscribe system
Systems and methods for sharing information between a publisher and a subscriber are disclosed. The system includes a shared memory and a memory broker. The memory broker is configured to receive a request for writing a message relating to a topic from a publisher and determine whether a communication channel corresponding to the topic exists in the shared memory. If the communication channel corresponding to the topic exists, the memory broker then assigns a buffer ring on the communication channel to the publisher, transmits information relating to the buffer ring to the publisher, and transmits information relating to the buffer ring to one or more subscribers of the communication channel.
Data Storage Device and Data Maintenance Method
The present invention provides a data storage device including a flash memory and a controller. The flash memory has a plurality of single-level-cell units and a plurality of triple-level cell units. The controller performs a first predetermined number of read processes on a second predetermined number of specific single-level-cell units to program data stored in the second predetermined number of specific single-level-cell units into a specific triple-level cell unit of the triple-level cell units and determines whether any of the second predetermined number of specific single-level-cell units has not been read successfully by any of the read processes when the specific triple-level cell unit cannot be read successfully.
SELECTIVE WRITE CONTROL
Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for selective write control in accordance with the present description. In one aspect, a write operation which is associated with a read operation, may be selectively discarded if write operations have been disabled and if the write operation is directed to update a designated write operation acceptance area such as metadata associated with the target data set, for example. As a result, the read operation may be permitted to proceed and will not fail because the associated write operation was discarded rather than attempting to commit the write operation to the designated write operation acceptance area, thereby avoiding an error condition for a storage unit such as a volume, in which write operations have been disabled. Accordingly, applications which seek to perform read operations may be permitted to access data stored on such a volume. Other aspects are described.
