A computer-implemented method for guiding a user through a space includes determining a current location of the user and a destination location, where the current location and the destination location are locations within the space; determining a path from the current location to the destination location; determining at least one guidance cue associated with the path; and causing at least one guidance output device along the path to output the at least one guidance cue, wherein the at least one guidance output device is installed in the space.

System and method for communicating possible travel paths through head scanning and sound modulation

A method and system that provides navigational related audio or haptic feedback to a user traversing a route by mapping an initial route for a user to traverse, the initial route having paths and intersections; determining a current location of the user; inputting a route characteristic change of the initial route; determining possible paths associated with an intersection for the user to traverse when the current location of the user is within the predetermined distance of the intersection; ranking the determined possible paths based upon the initial route and the inputted route characteristic change; determining the head direction of the user when the current location of the user is within the predetermined distance of an intersection; determining which of the possible paths corresponds to the calculated head direction of the user; and providing an audio/haptic cue to the user based upon the ranking of the determined possible path corresponding to the determined head direction of the user.

Driving sound library, apparatus for generating driving sound library and vehicle comprising driving sound library

A driving sound library provides driving sounds classified in various themes to a user by analyzing frequency characteristics and temporal characteristics of sound sources classified into categories and determining a chord corresponding to each sound source based on the frequency characteristics and the time characteristics. Modulated sound sources in which each sound source is modulated are generated by applying a chord corresponding to each sound source. The driving sound sources are generated using the sound sources and the modulated sound sources as input data. Pitches of the driving sound sources are then changed based on the driving sound sources and engine sound orders corresponding to an engine RPM of a preset range. Scores for each theme for the driving sounds are generated.

Surface detection for micromobility vehicles

Various implementations include approaches for training a surface detection classifier and detecting characteristics of a surface, along with related micromobility vehicles. Certain implementations include a method including: comparing: i) detected movement of a micromobility (MM) vehicle or a device located with a user at the MM vehicle while operating the MM vehicle, with ii) a surface detection classifier for the MM vehicle; and in response to detecting that the MM vehicle is traveling on a restricted surface type for a threshold period, performing at least one of: a) notifying an operator of the MM vehicle about the travel on the restricted surface type, b) outputting a warning at an interface connected with the MM vehicle or the device, c) limiting a speed of the MM vehicle, or d) disabling operation of the MM vehicle.

Dialogue system and dialogue processing method

A dialogue system includes: a storage configured to store a parameter tree including at least one parameter used for performing an action; a speech input device configured to receive speech from a user; an input processor configured to apply a natural language understanding algorithm to the received speech to generate a speech recognition result; a dialogue manager configured to determine an action corresponding to the received speech based on the speech recognition result, to retrieve a parameter tree corresponding to the action from the storage, and to determine additional information needed to perform the action based on the retrieved parameter tree; and a result processor configured to generate a dialogue response for requesting the additional information.

Ultrasonic sound guide system for the visually impaired
20230040894 · 2023-02-09 ·

The ultrasonic sound guide system presents the audio broadcasting system based on the inaudible ultrasonic sound to assist the indoor and outdoor navigation of the visually impaired. The transmitters are placed at the point of interest to propagate the frequency modulated voice signal in ultrasonic sound range. The receiver device is carried by the visually impaired in wearable device form to receive the ultrasonic sound for the voice signal via demodulation. Since the ultrasonic sound demonstrates the acoustic properties, the directivity, attenuation, and superposition of ultrasonic sound provide the acoustic clue to the receiver device user for localizing the transmitter positions. The visually impaired hear the designated voice signal and follow the signal strength to arrive at the specific location. The ultrasonic sound guide system is useful device to localize the place in near field without touching the braille. The receiver device can be any independent form such as eyeglasses, neckband, walking cane attachment device, hand-held device, etc. those are not blocking the ear canal. Also, the receiver device can be realized by smartphone application software using the hardware and sensors in the smartphone.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR NAVIGATING VEHICLE TO PICKUP / DROP-OFF ZONE
20230100961 · 2023-03-30 ·

This document describes methods by which a system determines a pickup/drop-off zone (PDZ) to which a vehicle will navigate to perform a ride service request. The system will define a PDZ that is a geometric interval that is within a lane of a road at the requested destination of the ride service request by: (i) accessing map data that includes the geometric interval; (ii) using the vehicle's length and the road's speed limit at the destination to calculate a minimum allowable length for the PDZ; (iii) setting, start point and end point boundaries for the PDZ having an intervening distance that is equal to or greater than the minimum allowable length; and (iv) positioning the PDZ in the lane at or within a threshold distance from the requested destination. The system will then generate a path to guide the vehicle to the PDZ.

DIGITAL TWIN BASED BINAURAL AUDIO ECHOLOCATION

A processor may receive an information dataset. The information dataset may include object information and environment information. A processor may generate a digital twin of a physical environment. The digital twin of the physical environment may be based, at least in part, on the information dataset. A processor may simulate one or more factors on the digital twin of the physical environment. A processor may determine, responsive to simulating the one or more factors, one or more pathways to a destination. The destination may be in the physical environment.

WRONG WAY DRIVING PREVENTION

An example operation includes one or more of initially determining, via one or more sensors on a transport, that the transport is approaching a one-way road in a wrong direction based on a slowing down of the transport and a movement of the transport toward the one-way road, notifying, via the one or more sensors, one or more occupants of the transport about the approaching, and in response to the transport continuing to approach in the wrong direction, slowing the transport, by a computer associated with the transport, to not permit entry into the one-way road.
