Navigation assistance for the visually impaired
Eyewear having a light array and vibration sensors for indicating to a user when to turn left and right, such as when the eyewear is operating a navigation map application, that improves the user experience of eyewear devices for user's having partial blindness or complete blindness. To compensate for partial blindness, the front portion of the eyewear frame, such as the bridge, may include the light array, where the left portion of the light array is illuminated to indicate to the user to turn left. The right portion of the light array is illuminated to indicate to the user to turn right. To compensate for complete user's having complete blindness, the eyewear has a vibration device on each side of the eyewear, such as in the temples, which selectively vibrate to indicate when the user should turn left and right.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR USING AUGMENTED REALITY IN TRANSPORTATION
Augmented reality may be used to help navigate a user to a desired location. A first location and a device orientation of a user device may be obtained. A second location may be obtained. A path from the first location to the second location may be determined. A camera feed may be displayed on the user device. An indicator of the path may be displayed over the camera feed based on the device orientation. A marker may be displayed over the camera feed in response to determining that the device orientation aligns with the second location, and the marker may indicate the second location.
Context-aware voice guidance
A context-aware voice guidance method is provided that interacts with other voice services of a user device. The voice guidance does not provide audible guidance while the user is making a verbal request to any of the voice-activated services. Instead, the voice guidance transcribes its output on the screen while the verbal requests from the user are received. In some embodiments, the voice guidance only provides a short warning sound to get the user's attention while the user is speaking on a phone call or another voice-activated service is providing audible response to the user's inquires. The voice guidance in some embodiments distinguishes between music that can be ducked and spoken words, for example from an audiobook, that the user wants to pause instead of being skipped. The voice guidance ducks music but pauses spoken words of an audio book in order to provide voice guidance to the user.
Method for determining the relative positions of at least two mobile terminal devices to each other
The invention relates to a method for determining the relative positions to each other of at least two mobile terminal devices, such as mobile phones, tablet computers, PDAs, notebooks, subnotebooks, or similar mobile terminal devices, wherein a position query of one mobile terminal device is transmitted to the other mobile terminal device, the relative positions to each other of the two mobile terminal devices are determined on the basis of the current geographic positions of the two mobile terminal devices after the queried mobile terminal device confirms the position query, and a relative distance and a geographic direction to the queried mobile terminal device are displayed at least at the querying mobile terminal device as a position indicator.
Method and apparatus for navigation instructions including enhanced lane guidance
A system includes a processor configured to determine relative suitability of each lane on a current route for completing a maneuver on the route. The processor is also configured to display an ordered series of maneuver instructions, in conjunction with a route map, the instructions including arrows corresponding to each lane on a next-segment of the route and color coded in accordance with the determined suitability of each lane.
Mobile application interface device for vehicle navigation assistance
An interface device connects to a mobile application running on a mobile device to provide vehicle navigation assistance. The interface device includes a microphone, a location determining component, a display, a plurality of indicator lights, a short-range communications transceiver, and a controller. The controller is configured to: receive a spoken instruction or query from a user via the microphone; send data associated with the spoken instruction or query to the mobile application running on the mobile device via the short-range communications transceiver; receive navigation data based on the spoken instruction or query from the mobile application running on the mobile device via the short-range communications transceiver; determine a current position based on one or more signals received via the location determining component; and provide at least one of a symbolic output or a textual output via the display based on the navigation data and the current position.
Augmented reality directions utilizing physical reference markers
Aspects described herein may allow for displaying augmented reality directions utilizing physical markers. Systems and methods described herein may allow a device to scan to provide augmented reality directions using one or more physical markers as reference points. One or more physical markers may be left along a path, and directions may be provided from one physical marker to the next. A device, such as a mobile device, may be used to scan the physical markers and/or display the augmented reality directions on a display overlaid over a depiction of the surrounding environment.
Security for an electrically motorized vehicle
Methods of protecting an electrically motorized human-powered vehicle are disclosed. A method may include transmitting, from a remote server, a security input relating to a user of the vehicle; receiving, at the electrically motorized human-powered vehicle the security input relating to the user; validating the security input; and enabling one of a first or second set of features based on the security input, wherein the second set of features is different from the first set of features and wherein one of set of features includes a service mode that enables maintenance access to the vehicle.
NOTIFICATION CONTROL DEVICE AND NOTIFICATION CONTROL METHOD
A notification control device includes an inducing point determining unit that determines whether an inducing point of a longitudinal slope illusion is included in a planned travel region of a vehicle; and a notification control unit that performs control to notify a person on board the vehicle of inducing point information about the inducing point when it is determined that the inducing point is included in the planned travel region.
VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROLLER, VEHICLE DISPLAY DEVICE, VEHICLE, VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM RECORDED WITH VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL PROGRAM
A vehicle display that is configured to: acquire a position of a vehicle, via a sensor; correct a positional relationship of a vehicle on a pre-generated map to an actual positional relationship of the vehicle as derived from the acquired position of the vehicle; and based on a result of correction, cause display of a direction image indicating a heading direction of the vehicle at a display area provided at a windshield glass in front of an occupant.
