VEHICULAR DRIVER MONITORING SYSTEM
A vehicular driver monitoring system includes an interior electrochromic rearview mirror assembly and a camera disposed at the interior electrochromic rearview mirror assembly behind and viewing through an electrochromic mirror reflective element into the interior cabin of the vehicle. Supplemental sources of near infrared illumination are integrated into the mirror assembly that, when powered to emit near infrared light, illuminate at least the driver-side front seating area within the interior cabin of the vehicle. Presence of the camera is not readily apparent to an occupant of the vehicle. The camera at least (a) views the driver-side front seating area of the equipped vehicle and (b) views a passenger-side front seating area of the equipped vehicle. The driver of the equipped vehicle is monitored via processing at the processor of image data captured by the camera.
APPARATUS AND ASSOCIATED METHOD FOR PROVIDING U-TURN GUIDANCE
An apparatus comprising a processor and memory including computer program code, the memory and computer program code configured to, with the processor, enable the apparatus at least to: receive an indication of disruption to a planned route of travel for a road vehicle following the planned route; based on consideration of contextual data in respect of a location in proximity to the current vehicle location against one or more predefined manoeuvering criteria, dynamically identify a U-turn location on the planned route of travel at which it is possible for the vehicle to perform a U-turn onto a different route of travel; and provide an indication of the dynamically identified U-turn location for use in route navigation onto the different route of travel.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR DETECTING MAP CALIBRATION ERRORS
Embodiments of the present description provide methods and apparatuses for detecting map calibration errors. In one aspect, a method includes: acquiring a map including at least one map element, determining at least one of feature information of the at least one map element or a navigation line according to the map, and determining whether a map element is calibrated wrongly according to the at least one of the feature information or the navigation line.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE ECONOMY IMPROVEMENT
A method and apparatus for evaluating the driving of a vehicle performing a journey on a road network is disclosed. The method comprises determining a fuel usage rate and an engine speed of a vehicle, and determining when the vehicle is coasting based upon at least one of the fuel usage rate and the engine speed of the vehicle. An acceleration of the vehicle, when the vehicle is determined to be coasting, is compared with a predetermined reference acceleration, and an application of braking during the coasting is determined based on the result of the comparison. A method and apparatus is also disclosed for determining a score indicative of the relative amount of time for which the vehicle is coasting without braking during a journey.
VEHICLE DISPLAY DEVICE
Provided is a vehicle display device configured to be mounted on a vehicle. The vehicle display device includes a curve detection unit, a road state categorization unit, and a display unit. The curve detection unit detects a curve that is included in a target traveling line and has a curvature. The road state categorization unit categorizes a state of the road on which the target traveling line including the curve is set, in one class out of a plurality of classes, according to possibility of presence of the curve having the curvature of a predetermined value or more. The display unit displays a representation that indicates the curvature of the curve. The curvature corresponds to the class in which the state of the road has been categorized.
RECORDED ROUTE REPLAY ON AN AUGMENTED REALITY HEAD-UP DISPLAY APPLICATION
A method for replaying route data with annotation for re-display comprises: recording a recorded-route-replay by a first user of a first automobile vehicle and saving the recorded-route-replay to a website; electing to trigger playback of the recorded-route-replay by a second user of a second automobile vehicle and entering a predetermined key word by the second user to trigger playback; contacting a website and downloading from the website GPS tagged pictures for a predetermined next trip travel distance of the second automobile vehicle; and retrieving one of the GPS tagged pictures when a GPS trigger location is reached during the trip of the second automobile vehicle and displaying the one of the GPS tagged pictures on an image screen of a head-up display of second automobile vehicle.
Method and system for displaying navigation instructions
A method and a system for displaying at least one navigation instruction of a navigation system in a vehicle, a section of the vehicle's surroundings being recorded by a camera and displayed as an image sequence of the surroundings by a display unit, the navigation instruction being likewise displayed by the display unit, and, when the vehicle is moving, the position of the at least one navigation instruction within the image sequence of the surroundings being changed as a function of the movement of the surroundings occurring relative to the vehicle.
Navigation system and display method of a navigation map
A navigation system for a motor vehicle is provided. A display interface is located in a vehicle. A is processor in communication with a vehicle sensor and a server. The processor is configured to receive vehicle information and road information, predict a traveling direction of the vehicle based on the vehicle information, and highlight the road information associated with the traveling direction on the display interface. A corresponding vehicle and method is also provided. A user of a navigation map can obtain auxiliary information to drive on the current route from a navigation interface more conveniently during the process of using the navigation map, thus providing the user an improved driving experience.
Road Geometry Matching with Componentized Junction Models
In one embodiment, a method for road geometry matching with componentized junction models is provided. The method includes receiving a plurality of predefined road component models, receiving map data representing a physical road junction, selecting a subset of the plurality of road component models to characterize the physical road junction represented by the received map data, and defining a road junction configuration for the physical road junction with the selected road component models.
AR PROCESSING DEVICE, AUGMENTED REALITY-BASED ROUTE GUIDANCE METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An augmented reality (AR)-based route guidance method includes acquiring a driving image captured by an image capturing device of a vehicle which is running, acquiring route data to a destination of the vehicle, recognizing both side lane markings of a lane in which the vehicle is running from the acquired driving image, generating first route guidance linear data based on the recognized both side lane markings for a region in which both side lane markings are recognized in the driving image, generating second route guidance linear data using link linear data of the route data for a region in which both side lane markings are not recognized in the driving image, combining the first route guidance linear data and the second route guidance linear data to generate combined route guidance linear data, and displaying a route guidance object in AR using the generated combined route guidance linear data.
