Venues map application and system

In some implementations, a computing device can provide a map application providing a representation of a physical structure of venues (e.g., shopping centers, airports) identified by the application. In addition, the application can provide an inside view that includes the physical layout and geometry of the venue's structure as well as the location, structure and layout of points of interest (e.g., stores, security check points, restrooms) within the venue. The views become more detailed as the user zooms into the venue to reveal points of interest and to give the user a feel for traversing the venue.

Alternative Navigation Directions Pre-Generated When a User is Likely to Make a Mistake in Navigation
20220404155 · 2022-12-22 ·

To predict a likelihood of an error by a user when traversing a route and take preemptive action, a computing device receives a request by a user for navigation directions from a starting location to a destination location via a route. The computing devices provides the set of navigation directions to the user, which includes navigation instructions each including a maneuver and a location on the route for the maneuver. For an upcoming maneuver on the route, the computing device determines a likelihood that the user will incorrectly perform the maneuver. In response to determining that the likelihood is above a threshold likelihood and prior to the user arriving at the location for the maneuver, the computing device generates an alternative set of navigation directions for navigating from a location off the route to the destination location via an alternative route.

NEARBY VEHICLE POSITION ESTIMATION SYSTEM, AND NEARBY VEHICLE POSITION ESTIMATION PROGRAM

There is provided a technique for improving the accuracy of estimation of a position of a nearby vehicle. A nearby vehicle position estimation system is formed that includes a relative position information obtaining part that obtains relative direction of a nearby vehicle with respect to a host vehicle, the nearby vehicle being present around the host vehicle; a map information obtaining part that obtains map information around a current position of the host vehicle; and a nearby vehicle position estimating part that obtains, based on the map information, a nearby road that overlaps a straight line extending in the relative direction from the host vehicle, and estimates that the nearby vehicle is present on the nearby road.

Agent apparatus, agent system, and server device

An agent device includes an acquirer configured to acquire an utterance of a user of a first vehicle, and a first agent controller configured to perform processing for providing a service including causing an output device to output a response of voice in response to an utterance of the user of the first vehicle acquired by the acquirer. When there is a difference between a service which is utilized in the first vehicle and is available from one or more agent controllers including at least the first agent controller and a service which is utilized in a second vehicle and is available from one or more agent controllers, the first agent controller provides information on the difference.

Using major route decision points to select traffic cameras for display

Techniques enable selection of traffic cameras for display to a user, where the techniques involve determining a primary route and an alternate route, determining a first intersection between the primary route and the alternate route, and obtaining camera metadata identifying multiple cameras, where the camera metadata defines aspects such as positioning data, direction, status data, and image data for individual traffic cameras. The techniques also involve determining a priority score for individual cameras using the camera metadata, where the priority score is based, at least in part, on proximity to the first intersection between the primary route and the alternate route. The techniques then involve selecting at least one traffic camera based on the priority score of the camera and communicating image data of the camera for display on a display device.

DIRECTIONAL GUIDANCE FOR A SPACE
20220381577 · 2022-12-01 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure set forth techniques for directional guidance for a space. A computer-implemented method for guiding a user through a space includes determining a current location of the user and a destination location, where the current location and the destination location are locations within the space; determining a path from the current location to the destination location; determining at least one guidance cue associated with the path; and causing at least one guidance output device along the path to output the at least one guidance cue, wherein the at least one guidance output device is installed in the space.

SYSTEM AMD METHOD FOR PROVIDING SITUATIONAL AWARENESS INTERFACES FOR A VEHICLE OCCUPANT

A method for providing a situational awareness interface for an occupant of an automated vehicle is provided. The method includes: generating a vehicle route graphic that displays a street level map of an area that includes a current location of the vehicle and an intended destination of the vehicle along with a visual depiction of a planned route and one or more alternate routes for the vehicle; determining a probability of requiring assistance or interaction and an estimated time of arrival for each of the planned route and the one or more alternate routes; providing a visual indication of the probability of requiring assistance or interaction and the estimated time of arrival for each of the planned route and the one or more alternate routes on the vehicle route graphic; and signaling a display device to display the vehicle route graphic.

TRAVEL ASSISTANCE
20230051198 · 2023-02-16 ·

Apparatus, systems, and/or methods may provide travel assistance. For example, a determination may be made that a user is to begin driving in the near future. In addition, a determination may be made of one or more predicted destinations when the user is to begin driving in the near future. Thus, travel assistance may be provided to the user based on the one or more predicted destinations when the user is to begin driving in the near future.

SENTIMENT-BASED NAVIGATION
20220357172 · 2022-11-10 ·

Sentiment-based navigation is provided herein. A method can include extracting features of sensor data captured by a sensor associated with a vehicle, wherein the sensor data is representative of a subject selected from a group of subjects comprising an occupant of the vehicle and an environment in which the vehicle is located, resulting in extracted features. The method can further include determining sentiment data representative of an emotional condition of the occupant of the vehicle based on an analysis of the extracted features, and generating a navigation route for the vehicle from an origin point to a destination point based on the sentiment data.

Information providing method and information providing device

An information providing method and apparatus a) transmits a request via a network, for recommended driving information for a first user to be received and displayed on a display of the first user, b) receives from the network driving data from a plurality of vehicles about how a plurality of users drive their vehicles including the first user, c) extracts a similar user from among the plurality of users who drives a vehicle with a predetermined similarity to how the first user drives a vehicle, and determines recommended driving information of the similar user from the similar user's driving history, d) transmits over the network to the first user the recommended driving information of the similar user, and e) displays on a display of the first user the recommended driving information of the similar user.
