THERAPEUTIC, DIAGNOSTIC, AND PROGNOSTIC METHODS FOR CANCER
20220267864 · 2022-08-25 ·

The invention provides methods and compositions to detect expression of one or more biomarkers, including FGFR3, TP53, and/or EGFR, for treating, diagnosing, and providing a prognosis for cancer, e.g., bladder cancer. The invention also provides kits and articles of manufacture for use in the methods.

ANALYTICAL METHOD AND IMMUNOLOGICAL TREATMENT FOR BLADDER CANCER

The invention provides an analytical method for detecting bladder cancer by analysing a urine sample for presence of a glycan tumour antigen, the presence of which has been identified to indicate bladder cancer. The analytical method has the advantage that the tumour antigen can be analysed in a urine sample and has a high accuracy for indicating presence of cancer in the urinary tract, especially bladder cancer, e.g. the method has a low rate of false positive results.

Method of Determining Disease State Risk

A method for determining colorectal cancer risk includes obtaining a blood sample of the subject, isolating serum or EDTA plasma from the blood sample, analyzing the serum or EDTA plasma to determine plasma levels of very long chain dicarboxylic acid (VLCDCA 28:4), comparing the determined plasmas level of VLCDCA 28:4 of the subject with a predetermined range of plasma levels of VLCDCA 28:4 of diagnosed subjects having colorectal cancer, and determining a colorectal cancer risk exists when the determined plasma level of VLCDCA 28:4 is within the predetermined range of plasma levels of VLCDCA.

Skin treatment devices and methods with pre-stressed configurations

Devices, bandages, kits and methods are described that can control or regulate the mechanical environment of a wound to ameliorate scar and/or keloid formation. The mechanical environment of a wound includes stress, strain, and any combination of stress and strain. The control of a wound's mechanical environment can be active, passive, dynamic, or static. The devices are configured to be removably secured to a skin surface in proximity to the wound site and shield the wound from endogenous and/or exogenous stress.

Method for detection of urothelial cancer

It is to provide a method for detecting urothelial cancer simply and with high accuracy. It is a method for detecting urothelial cancer comprising administering 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA), a derivative thereof, or a salt of these to a test subject, collecting urine from the test subject, and detecting the presence of fluorescence or amount of fluorescence in the collected urine.

Provided are antibodies that specifically bind to an epitope containing N-acetylglucosamine or N-acetyl-galactosamine expressed by a cancer cell or an inflammatory cell. Also provided are compositions including these antibodies, as well as polynucleotides, vectors, host cells, and methods useful for production thereof. Further provided are methods and kits for treating or preventing cancer in an individual by administering to the individual an antibody that specifically binds to an epitope containing N-acetylglucosamine or N-acetyl-galactosamine, optionally in combination with another anti-cancer agent. Still further provided are methods and kits for treating or preventing gastrointestinal disease in an individual by administering to the individual an antibody that specifically binds to an epitope containing N-acetylglucosamine or N-acetyl-galactosamine. Yet further provided are methods and kits for detecting the presence of cancer cells in an individual including an antibody that specifically binds to an epitope containing N-acetylglucosamine and/or N-acetyl-galactosamine.

METHODS FOR DIAGNOSING AND TREATING CD1D RESTRICTED GAMMA/DELTA T CELL LYMPHOMAS

Methods for diagnosing and treating CD1d-restricted gamma/delta T cell lymphomas are disclosed. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a method for diagnosing a T cell lymphoma as a CD1d-restricted gamma/delta T cell lymphoma in a patient in need thereof including i) detecting the presence of CD1d restricted gamma/delta T lymphoma cells in a cell lymphoma sample obtained from the patient and ii) concluding that the T cell lymphoma is a CD1d-restricted gamma/delta T cell lymphoma when the presence of CD1d restricted gamma/delta T cells is detected in the sample. The present disclosure also relates to a method for treating a CD1d-restricted gamma/delta T cell lymphoma as diagnosed by the diagnostic method, including administering the patient with a therapeutically effective amount of a CD1d antagonist.

Methods of Selecting T cell Line and Donor Thereof for Adoptive Cellular Therapy

Disclosed herein are methods of selecting an allogeneic T cell line for therapeutic administration to a patient having or suspected of having a pathogen or cancer. Also disclosed are methods of selecting a donor from whom to derive an allogeneic T cell line for therapeutic administration to a patient having or suspected of having a pathogen or cancer.

Isolated anti-IL-6 antibodies

The present invention is directed to therapeutic methods using IL-6 antagonists such as anti-IL-6 antibodies and fragments thereof having binding specificity for IL-6 to prevent or treat rheumatoid arthritis.

COMBINED USE OF A TRKA INHIBITOR AND AN EPHA2 INHIBITOR FOR USING IN THE TREATMENT OF SOLID CANCERS, AND METHOD FOR THE PROGNOSIS OF SURVIVAL OF A PATIENT WHO HAS A SOLID CANCER

The invention relates to an EphA2 inhibitor for the use thereof in the treatment of solid cancer treated with a TrkA inhibitor, and a TrkA inhibitor for the use thereof in the treatment of solid cancer treated with an EpbA2 inhibitor. The invention also relates to a method for the prognosis of survival of a patient who has a solid cancer, comprising a step of detecting the expression of TrkA and EphA2 in a biological sample of the patient, the co-expression of TrkA and EphA2 being associated with a poor prognosis of survival of the patient.
