Some methods provided herein relate to improving signal (and also signal to noise ratio) from released hydrogen ions during nucleic acid sequencing reactions.
Nucleic acid cleaving enzyme-based biosensor and methods of use thereof
This disclosure relates to biosensors, and in particular, biosensors based on nucleic acid cleaving enzymes such as ribonucleotide-cleaving DNAzymes for the detection of analytes, and methods of use.
Flexible optical biosensor for point of use multi-pathogen detection
A fully integrated miniaturized optical biosensor and methods of making the same are disclosed. The biosensor may include a fluid transport system and an optical system.
Electromagnetic fluid filter using magnetostrictive sensors
In at least one illustrative embodiment, an electromagnetic filter may include a transfer pipe and multiple electromagnetic filter elements positioned in an interior volume of the pipe. Each electromagnetic filter element includes a support comb, a solenoid coupled to the support comb, and multiple magnetic members arranged in a planar array positioned within an opening of the support comb. Each magnetic member may rotate about an end that is coupled to the support comb. The magnetic members may be magnetostrictive sensors and may include a biorecognition element to bind with a target microorganism. A method for fluid filtration includes coupling the electromagnetic filter between a fluid source and a fluid destination, energizing the solenoids of each electromagnetic filter elements, and flowing a fluid media through the transfer pipe of the electromagnetic filter. The fluid media may be liquid food such as fruit juice. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Methods and applications of on-chip dried or lyophilized chemiluminescence substrate reagents
A sensing device includes a sample loading chamber configured to receive a sample, a detection antibody drying or lyophilization chamber configured to receive a first portion of the sample, one or more substrate drying or lyophilization chambers configured to receive a second portion of the sample, and one or more reaction chambers connected to the detection antibody drying or lyophilization chamber and the one or more substrate drying or lyophilization chambers. The detection antibody drying or lyophilization chamber and one or more substrate drying or lyophilization chambers are placed in parallel between the sample loading chamber and the one or more reaction chambers.
Sensor substrate, detection device, and manufacturing method of sensor substrate
The present disclosure provides a sensor substrate capable of detecting a trace amount of an analyte. This sensor substrate according to the present disclosure is a sensor substrate comprising a metal microstructure that generates surface plasmon when irradiated with excitation light. The metal microstructure is composed of a plurality of protrusions disposed in a planar shape. The plurality of the protrusions are disposed in such a manner that imaginary lines V each passing through a center between adjacent protrusions draw a honeycomb shape in a plan view. Each of the plurality of the protrusions has a substantially hexagonal shape in the plan view. A depth in a thickness direction of the sensor substrate of a gap present between the adjacent protrusions is larger than a radius of an imaginary circle inscribed in a hexagon forming the honeycomb shape.
STRESS MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND STRESS MEASUREMENT METHOD
Provided is a stress measurement system and a stress measurement method that are capable of measuring the stress level of a subject without taking time and effort. A stress measurement system 1 includes a sensor unit 31 that detects a plurality of detection target gases based on substances contained in a specimen of a subject and outputs a plurality of detection values corresponding to respective detection results of the plurality of detection target gases, and a control unit that determines a stress level of the subject, based on a combination of the plurality of detection values. In addition, the substances contained in the specimen may include a substance serving as a raw material for a brain neurotransmitter.
Silver Nanoneedles for Sustained DC Current Single Nanopore Measurements
A composition having one or more nanoneedles is provided, where each nanoneedle has a silver tip and one or more of the silver tips comprise an AgCl layer. In one approach, one or more of the silver tips further include a layer of thiol-polyethylene glycol. A method of resistive pulse detection involving a protein pore is also provided. The method involves reconstituting one or more protein pores in a lipid membrane formed on the tip of a nanoneedle, then applying a potential across the membrane and detecting resistive pulses.
