Hair treatment products comprising, in relation to its weight, from about 0.001 to about 20% by weight of at least one alpha-substituted aldehyde and from about 0.001 to about 50% by weight of at least one amino-functional silicon, which lead to improved structural reinforcement of keratin fibers and improved hair care, and which reduce or prevent color washout in dyed hair.

The instant disclosure relates hair care compositions comprising ionic liquids or ionic mixtures. Ionic liquids or ionic mixtures are combined with a cosmetically acceptable carrier to form ready-to-use hair care compositions. The ionic liquids and the ionic mixtures are formed from; (1) thiolactic acid and/or one or more alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salts thereof; and (2) one or more amine compounds, and/or one or more ammonium cationic compounds, and/or one or more salts thereof. The invention relates to a method for forming a catalyzed dye system. The method includes the successive steps of (1) forming a mixture comprising at least one dye precursor and a catalyst and (2) adding an alkalizer to the mixture, which forms a catalyzed dye system. The dye system may be exposed to hair for less time than standard oxidative dye systems, which is believed to result in reduced damage to hair.

The disclosure relates to compositions for treating, caring for, and/or styling hair, such as for improving curl definition, regularity, and/or elongation of curly hair. The compositions comprise (a) a synergistic combination of citric acid and at least one urea compound chosen from urea and/or derivatives thereof; (b) at least one additional component for styling and/or caring for hair; and (c) at least one solvent. A solid hair conditioning agent composition including cetanol (A1), stearyl alcohol (A2), a cationic surfactant (B), a liquid oil (C), and a nonionic surfactant (D) can improve the application property of an agent.
