Battery powered devices are provided with electrically isolated outputs. One exemplary battery device comprises at least one battery; and control electronics configured to provide a plurality of outputs from one of the at least one battery, wherein the plurality of outputs comprise at least one output that is electrically isolated from at least one other output of the plurality of outputs that each provide power to one or more of a plurality of loads. In another exemplary battery device, the control electronics are configured to provide a plurality of outputs from one of the at least one battery, and further comprises a housing assembly comprising (i) at least two surfaces, wherein the at least two surfaces have a space therebetween configured to house the control electronics and the at least one battery; or (ii) a tubular structure configured to house the control electronics and the at least one battery.

A method including providing, on a substrate, first and second stacks for an energy storage device with a groove therebetween is provided. The first and second stacks each, respectively, include a first electrode layer on the substrate, an electrolyte layer on the first electrode layer, and a second electrode layer on the electrolyte layer. A first material is deposited within the groove and a second material is deposited over the first stack, the first material and the second stack to electrically connect the second electrode layers of the first and second stacks, via the second material. The first material prevents the second material from contacting the first electrode layer of the first and second stacks and the electrolyte layer of the first and second stacks, to electrically insulate the first electrode layer of the first and second stacks and the electrolyte layer of the first and second stacks from the second material.

The device includes a battery comprising a cell stack that includes an anode, a cathode, and one or more separator layers electrically insulating the anode from the cathode. The device includes a case having a feedthrough port and a feedthrough assembly disposed in the feedthrough port. The feedthrough assembly includes a ferrule having a lumen. An inner conductor is disposed within the lumen of the ferrule. The inner conductor is formed from a material having a first composition and a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). An insulating core is disposed within the lumen of the ferrule and separates the inner conductor from the ferrule. The insulating core is formed from a material having a second composition and a second CTE. The first CTE of the inner conductor is equal to or greater than the second CTE of the insulating core and the first and second compositions are molecularly bonded with one another to form a hermetic seal between the inner conductor and the insulating core.

Secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same

A conductive member is disposed on a side of the sealing plate adjacent to an electrode assembly with a first insulating member disposed therebetween. The conductive member has a conductive-member opening portion. The conductive-member opening portion of the conductive member is sealed by a deformation plate. The deformation plate is connected to a first positive-electrode current collector, which is electrically connected to positive electrode plates. A second insulating member is disposed between the deformation plate and the first positive-electrode current collector. Fixing projections and displacement prevention projections are provided on a surface of the second insulating member. The second insulating member is fixed to the first positive-electrode current collector such that the fixing projections are disposed in fixing holes in the first positive-electrode current collector. The displacement prevention projections on the second insulating member are disposed in displacement prevention holes in the first positive-electrode current collector.
