Rotating and non-rotating reclining chairs w/tilting mechanisms
A reclining and declining chair, preferably one that rotates with respect to its base, having a chair seat frame or plate and having a vertical or generally vertical member that extends beneath to support is reclined and declined by tilting at least an upper portion of the vertical or generally vertical support. Optionally the chair can also have a reclining backrest and a leg/foot rest that can be raised and lowered. The tilting, reclining, declining and raising and lowering motions are accomplished by drive mechanisms that can be manually powered, electrically powered, fluid driven, etc. with operator controls allowing increased range and ease of reclining, declining plus other desirable advantages with these types of chairs.
ADJUSTABLE FURNITURE
The invention provides an article of adjustable furniture (10) comprising a backrest (20) and an adjustable headrest (130) pivotally mounted with respect to the backrest, actuator means (100) for moving the headrest between raised and lowered positions, and guide means (138, 140) arranged between the headrest and the backrest for rotating the headrest with respect to the backrest as the headrest moves between its raised and lowered positions. The guide means includes first and second guides (138, 140), each associated with one of the backrest and the headrest and having at least one follower (142, 144) associated with the other of the backrest and headrest. The first and second guides are inclined with respect to each other such that a turning moment is generated on the headrest when the headrest is raised or lowered. In one embodiment the article of adjustable furniture comprises a floor standing base section (16), adjustable seat (18), backrest (20) and headrest (130) sections and actuator means (100) for moving the backrest and headrest sections. The seat section is movably mounted with respect to the base section. The backrest is movably mounted with respect to the seat section and the headrest is movably mounted with respect to the backrest section. The actuator means includes a single actuator (102) for co-ordinated movement of the adjustable backrest and headrest sections for selectively altering the configuration of the article of furniture. The actuator has a first range of movement for moving the headrest with respect to the backrest. A second range of movement moves the backrest with respect to the seat section to provide a recliner function.
Chair for supporting a person who is feeding a baby
The present invention relates to a chair for supporting a person feeding a baby. The chair includes a seat. The chair includes an armrest operatively connected to the seat. The armrest is selectively rotatable about a vertical axis, and moveable forward/rearward, laterally inward/outward and vertically relative to the seat. The armrest is shaped to receive a baby thereon.
Dynamic furniture featuring pendulum-like motion
A dynamic furniture system includes a first frame portion; a set of rollers mounted to the first frame portion; a second frame portion including one or more rockers having a roller-interface surface having a curved profile; wherein the set of rollers interface with the roller-interface surface of the rockers such that the second frame portion is moveable relative to the first frame portion; a set of one or more electromagnets mounted to or integrated with the first frame portion or the second frame portion; a set of one or more magnetically-interactive elements mounted to or integrated with a different one of the first frame portion or the second frame portion; and an electronic control system configured to vary a parameter of electrical energy supplied to the set of electromagnets over time to induce back and forth motion of one of the first frame portion or the second frame portion.
ACTIVE FITNESS CHAIR WITH AN EXERCISE ARMREST
In one aspect, an active exercise chair comprising seat support, wherein the seat support is rigidly affixed to a top section of a shaft of the gas spring; a seat, wherein the seat is connected to the seat support; a seatback support, wherein the seatback support is pivotably connected to the seat support about a discrete pivot point; a seatback carriage, wherein the seatback carriage is slidably connected to the seatback support, wherein the seatback carriage is connected to a seatback, and wherein the seatback traverses a translational path defined by the geometry of the seatback carriage and the seatback support.
Seat placeable in public rooms
Convertible seat which can be located in public places which seat comprises a seat part (1) and aback rest (3) in which case the back rest (3) can be turned in relation to the seat part (1), mechanism (9) in order to convert the seat essentially into a horizontal plane to become a resting surface, equipment in order to secure the items of the user, equipment in order to collect the use charge and equipment in order to cover the seat which has been converted to become at least a resting surface to become at least a partly closed resting space in which case the equipment in order to cover the resting space comprises a covering device (16) with a standard width which can be moved from the back part of the seat forward which covering device comprises control elements (7) which are installed at the both sides of the seat to such height that a needed resting space is formed underneath the covering device (16). The seat comprises an control unit (27) which is adjusted to recognize the payment of the use charge and which is adjusted to allow the moving of the seat into a resting space on the grounds of that in which resting space the space (19) for keeping the items of the user is protected and the mentioned resting space can be closed with the covering device (16) and that the control unit (27) is adjusted move the covering device (16) away from the position which closes the resting space with the help of a regulating unit when the paid utilization time has finished.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING POWER MOTION FURNITURE
The present invention relates to power motion furniture, power motion furniture systems and methods of using the same. In particular, the present invention provides systems and methods for controlling power motion furniture positioning comprising a physical alert (e.g., to indicate furniture component positioning).
Zero gravity chair mechanism
A zero gravity chair mechanism includes a frame having a bottom wall and a pair of vertical side walls; a carriage slidable longitudinally of the bottom wall; a linear actuator for moving the carriage longitudinally of the frame; link arms connected to the carriage for movement with the carriage, front ends of the link arms being connected to chair seat support brackets for moving the brackets longitudinally of the frame, the rear of the brackets moving horizontally while the rear of the brackets move upwardly and rearwardly relative to the frame or downwardly and forwardly relative to the frame, whereby the chair moves between a horizontal position and a zero gravity position. During movement from the zero gravity to the horizontal positions, the back of the chair moves downwardly and forwardly relative to the frame.
Linear Actuator
A method of attaching the adjustment mechanism of a linear actuator with the drive assembly of the linear actuator without the use of traditional assembly techniques such as threaded fasteners, welds or rivets, so that when the adjustment mechanism and drive assembly are aligned and assembled, they lock together.
