Method for Influencing Data Traffic Routing in Core Networks by Service Applications
This disclosure relates to mechanisms for effectuating data traffic routing influence in a core network of a communication system by service applications outside of the core network. The mechanism may be implemented for the core network to establish communication sessions within the core network that route data traffic according to the data traffic routing influence requests from application servers. The mechanism may further be implemented for the core network to modify or reconfigure network nodes for an active existing communication session within the core network to effectuate data traffic routing influence request from the application servers.
Policy node grouping for efficient network operation
Policy node grouping provides efficient network operation by improving the speed and reliability of policy node traffic. Disclosed solutions include: receiving, at a proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF), from a user equipment (UE), a data traffic session request; based on at least the data traffic session request and group policy criteria, selecting a policy node group from among a plurality of policy node groups, the plurality of policy node groups each comprising policy node peers grouped by a service type; based on at least the selected policy node group, determining a selected policy node; based on at least the selected policy node and the data traffic session request, establishing a data traffic session for the UE; and based on at least meeting policy node failover criteria and a failover latency timer, performing an inter-group or intra-group failover according to the group policy criteria.
Offline sideloading for enrollment of devices in a mobile device management system
Systems herein allow an administrator to efficiently enroll computing devices into a mobile device management system, even when those computing devices are offline and not connected to the system. A management server can include a console that allows the administrator to enroll an offline computing device by selecting an offline enrollment option on a registration record. This option can cause the management server to create a device record, indicating the computing device is enrolled. The management server can also create and save a provisioning file onto a storage device, such as a USB drive. Assets, such as graphics and applications, specified by the device record are also saved onto the storage device. The storage device can be physically connected to the computing device, at which point the provisioning file guides automatic installation of the assets and implementation of device settings and compliance rules specified by the device record.
Mobile network conditional policy execution based on UE geographic location
A device receives, from a policy control function (PCF) in a wireless network, at least one set of user equipment device (UE)-location based conditional policy rules. The device determines a geographic location of a UE connected to the wireless network and applies one of the set of UE-location based conditional policy rules to traffic associated with the UE based on the determined geographic location.
Systems and methods for dynamic rule determination for user plane data in a wireless network
A system described herein may identify traffic to be processed by a gateway device. The system may evaluate one or more parameters of the traffic based on a first set of conditions, and identify a first condition that is applicable to the traffic. The system may evaluate, based on identifying the first condition, the one or more parameters based on a second set of conditions and identify a second condition, of the second set of conditions, that is applicable to the traffic. The system may further identify one or more actions to perform with respect to the traffic based on the identified first and second conditions, and instruct the gateway device to perform the one or more actions on the traffic prior to outputting the traffic from the gateway device.
Method for managing a virtual radio access network and method for calibrating a software component
A method for managing a virtual radio access network which serves a radio cell is provided. The method includes selecting, based on a radio access technology of the radio cell, a construction scheme for the virtual radio access network in a repository. Further, the method includes querying, from the repository, at least one software component associated to the construction scheme. The software component represents a virtualized network function of the virtual radio access network. The method additionally includes setting up, using the software component, the virtualized network function on a runtime platform according to the construction scheme.
Method, apparatus and computer readable media for enforcing a rule related to traffic routing
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, apparatuses and computer program products for enforcing a rule related to traffic routing. A method implemented at a terminal device comprises receiving a rule related to traffic routing for traffic and enforcement information for the rule; and controlling enforcement of the rule based on the enforcement information. The enforcement information indicates whether a modification to a PDU session associated with the traffic due to the enforcement of the rule is allowed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DIFFERENTIATION OF SERVICE USING IN-BAND SIGNALING
An apparatus includes a network interface for connection to a network and a database configured to store traffic shaping parameters for a traffic shaping scheme for a plurality of classes of data packets. A database loading circuit is configured to obtain the traffic shaping parameters from in-band communication received in a data packet by the network interface and load the traffic shaping parameters into the database. One or more traffic shapers are configured to access the traffic shaping parameters in the database and apply the traffic shaping scheme according to the traffic shaping parameters to the plurality of classes of data packets received by the network interface.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING A NETWORK TRANSMISSION MECHANISM
A wireless communication system and an apparatus and method for determining a network transmission mechanism are provided. The apparatus stores several transmission policies. Each transmission policy corresponds to a predetermined strength distribution and includes a first predetermined transmission mechanism and a second predetermined transmission mechanism. The apparatus determines a real strength distribution among several terminal apparatuses according to their signal strength, determines a selected policy based on the real strength distribution and the predetermined strength distributions, and determines a user transmission mechanism for each terminal apparatus. Each user transmission mechanism includes the first predetermined transmission mechanism and/or the second predetermined transmission mechanism of the selected policy. The network transmission mechanism includes the user transmission mechanisms. The apparatus transmits an indication signal to each terminal apparatus to inform of the corresponding user transmission mechanism. Each terminal apparatus transmits data according to the corresponding user transmission mechanism.
