Soldering system of semiconductor laser element
A soldering system that determines soldering quality of elements relative to a housing at the moment of soldering semiconductor laser elements. A soldering device that performs soldering of a semiconductor laser element to a semiconductor laser module, a robot that conveys the module, a camera, and a control device that controls the robot and camera based on imaging output of the camera. The robot conveys the module and changes the position and posture of the camera. The camera images the module. The control device calculates the position of the semiconductor laser element based on the imaging output, calculates parallelism between the housing of the module and the semiconductor laser element based on the change in light intensity related to the imaging output when changing the relative position between the camera and the subject, and determines the quality of soldering of the semiconductor laser element based on the position and parallelism.
METHOD OF FABRICATING DIAMOND-SEMICONDUCTOR COMPOSITE SUBSTRATES
A method of fabricating a semiconductor-on-diamond composite substrate, the method comprising: (i) starting with a native semiconductor wafer comprising a native silicon carbidesubstrate on which a compound semiconductor is disposed; (ii) bonding a silicon carbide carrier substrate to the compound semiconductor; (iii) removing the native silicon carbide substrate; (iv) forming a nucleation layer over the compound semiconductor; (v) growing polycrystalline chemical vapour deposited (CVD) diamond on the nucleation layer to form a composite diamond-compound semiconductor-silicon carbide wafer, and (vi) removing the silicon carbide carrier substrate y laser lift-off to achieve a layered structure comprising the compound semiconductor bonded to the polycrystalline CVD diamond via the nucleation layer, wherein in step (ii) the silicon carbide carrier substrate is bonded to the compound semiconductor via a laser absorption material which absorbs laser light, wherein the laser has a coherence length shorter than a thickness of the silicon carbide carrier substrate.
Substrate with array of LEDs for backlighting a display device
An apparatus includes a substrate and a circuit trace having a predetermined pattern disposed on the substrate. A plurality of LEDs are connected to the substrate via the circuit trace. The predetermined pattern is arranged as an array of lines along a surface of the substrate, and the plurality of LEDs are distributed along the lines of the array.
Top-Side Laser for Direct Transfer of Semiconductor Devices
An apparatus includes a needle including a hole extending from a first end to a second end through the needle and an energy-emitting device arranged in the hole of the needle. The energy-emitting device being configured to emit a specific wavelength and intensity of energy directed at an electrically-actuatable element to bond a circuit trace and the electrically-actuatable element.
Method and structure for die bonding using energy beam
Disclosed is a die-bonding method which provides a target substrate having a circuit structure with multiple electrical contacts and multiple semiconductor elements each semiconductor element having a pair of electrodes, arranges the multiple semiconductor elements on the target substrate with the pair of electrodes of each semiconductor element aligned with two corresponding electrical contacts of the target substrate, and applies at least one energy beam to join and electrically connect the at least one pair of electrodes of every at least one of the multiple semiconductor elements and the corresponding electrical contacts aligned therewith in a heating cycle by heat carried by the at least one energy beam in the heating cycle. The die-bonding method delivers scattering heated dots over the target substrate to avoid warpage of PCB and ensures high bonding strength between the semiconductor elements and the circuit structure of the target substrate.
