The choke comprises a choke member (208; 209; 308; 408) cooled by coolant flowing in the coolant flow path (206). The choke member (208; 209; 308; 408) extends between two points spaced apart in a direction having at least a component parallel to a longitudinal axis of the feeding cable. The choke member (208; 209; 308; 408) comprises one or more turns extending around the longitudinal axis of the feeding cable. The choke member may be a spiral member (208; 308; 408).
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TREATING PELVIC CONDITIONS
An ablation instrument comprises an elongate shaft having a cannula channel and a scope channel, and an electrode disposed in the cannula channel. The electrode is slidable between a first position in which a distal end of the electrode is contained within the cannula channel, and a second position in which the distal end of the electrode extends out of a distal opening of the cannula channel. The ablation instrument further comprises a distal head coupled to the elongate shaft and configured for contacting solid tissue.
Thermocouple coupled with a piezoelectric crystal for feedback on vibration frequency
A phacoemulsification device includes a needle, one or more piezoelectric crystals, and one or more thermocouples. The needle is configured for insertion into a lens capsule of an eye. The one or more piezoelectric crystals are configured to vibrate the needle. The one or more thermocouples are thermally coupled directly to the respective piezoelectric crystals and are configured to measure respective temperatures of the one or more piezoelectric crystals as the crystals vibrate, and to output indications of the respectively measured temperatures.
THERAPEUTIC CATHETER WITH IMAGING
Ablation systems and methods of the present disclosure include a catheter including one or more image sensors. The one or more image sensors can facilitate, for example, positioning an ablation electrode at a treatment site of an anatomic structure and, additionally or alternatively, can facilitate controlling delivery of therapeutic energy to a treatment site of an anatomic structure.
AN IMAGE ANALYSIS DEVICE, A CONTROL METHOD FOR AN IMAGE ANALYSIS DEVICE, AN IMAGE ANALYSIS SYSTEM, AND A CONTROL METHOD FOR AN IMAGE ANALYSIS SYSTEM
An image analysis device is capable of outputting evaluation information for use in the balloon catheter treatment for subjects, in real time during a procedure using a balloon catheter. The image analysis device includes: an input unit configured to input captured image data of a two-dimensional captured image of a balloon catheter inserted into an organ of the subject and pressed against an inner surface of the organ; a processing unit configured to obtain evaluation image data of the two-dimensional evaluation image, by executing an image processing on the captured image based on the captured image data input by the input unit, and configured to obtain evaluation information regarding a state of the balloon catheter pressed against the inner surface of the organ based on the evaluation image data; and an output unit configured to output the evaluation information acquired by the processing unit.
Catheter with flex circuit distal assembly
An electrophysiology catheter has an elongated catheter shaft and a distal assembly with a flex circuit and a support member on which the flex circuit is supported in a generally cylindrical form. The support member has a post extending longitudinally through the cylindrical form of the flex circuit which delivers irrigation fluid into the cylindrical form. The post can be configured to define multiple irrigation chambers within the distal assembly. One or more flow directors movable in the post selectively direct irrigation fluid within the distal assembly. Apertures in the flex circuit allow the irrigation fluid to exit to outside the distal assembly.
HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH AN ABLATION ELECTRODE
An apparatus includes a flexible electrically-insulating substrate including an inner surface and an outer surface. The substrate is shaped to define multiple channels passing between the inner surface and the outer surface, at least some of the channels being concave channels. The apparatus further includes an outer layer of an electrically-conducting metal covering at least part of the outer surface, an inner layer of the electrically-conducting metal covering at least part of the inner surface, and respective columns of the electrically-conducting metal that fill the channels such as to connect the outer layer to the inner layer.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TISSUE TREATMENT USING MECHANICAL STIMULATION AND ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD
Devices and methods for tissue treatment produce a mechanical stimulation therapy and electromagnetic field therapy. The mechanical stimulation therapy provides stimulation of blood circulation and stimulates treated cells. The electromagnetic field enables thermal treatment of tissue. Combination of both therapies improves soft tissue treatment, mainly connective tissue in the skin area and fat reduction.
